Oft mate, bit off there. Actually, women work a lot more than men, both in the work force and in homes. Women in many cases have a higher level of productivity than men if you actually measure output vs hours worked. (Of course women will work less hours as they usually have primarily responsibilities with childcare and domestic, plus have different health issues) Plus, given that 50% of our society is made of women, it’s probably good to make sure that their perspective inform the decision and policy making in the country so that we make sure that everyone gets a fair go.

Setting aside all the other nonsense you spouted. Do you know who benefits enormously from paid leave for mums? Dads. I had a baby last year and if my wife's employer didn't 'waste' a bunch of money on her paid leave things would have been much more difficult for both of us.

@@LlywellynOBrien exactly. I think when we look after women we also look after men, and families, and societies. It’s a win win. We’re not separate entities, we’re interconnected. Men and women have always been and will always be interconnected. For some reasons our discourse seeks to make it a competition between the two.

Women on a whole aren’t trying to sabotage men mate. They are just asking that their experiences as women be factored into the decisions we make and we address generations of policy and practice where we have relegated women to the home and child rearing duties and ignored their needs, such as in health care, pay equity, domestic work etc… it’s just about reorganizing things to be fair. yes, men need to part of that process.
