It's incomprehensible to me that a single person has the skill and mindset and skillset to pull this off I can't put into word's how much respect I have for your work!

Not really as this person is known to have considerable amounts of experience in the programming and gaming industry. And is a former officer in the Finnish military. So he is not some youngster making a game, via Unreal store and youtube videos, in his parents basement, like the majority of other single person indie efforts.

I'm a longtime STALKER Anomaly/STALKER GAMMA player. I really love the game and the modpacks. But I've spent so much time with it that I crave for something new right now. Your project is my most anticipated game man. Please keep going. I love that you care about the atmosphere of the game so much. Thank you for making this.

11:35 lower reverb. It's an open area, sound is more direct, with low (Hz) predominant, and high (Hz) low/reduced. And, I'm amazed with the whole project, cheers!

I think he needs a lot of improvement. It sounds atm like audio being played into headset instead of actual in game sounds. (which is alright for now if he understands that)
@k00svak0

@@OCinneide that might not be that bad cause in tarkov you have varying headset types that give varying results. Most if not all sound like sound going through headphones instead of the gameworld but i understand why all of this might be an issue

@@k00svak0 I guess it's for the sake of even more immersion, even though the game already appears to be quite immersive in a way.
The ambient sounds are 50% of the whole aesthetic of a game, IMHO. They lend to the immersion so perfectly when done right.

Agreed, speaking of ambient, I'd recommend listening to Aphex Twin's Selected Ambient Works 2 album. Which I'm sure could fit really well (especially if we have some feature to play music, like a walkman similar to Metal Gear Solid V)

One thing I'd love to suggest (though I know it'd be a ton of work) is having each faction have their own unique animations. Like scavs move around more haggard and sluggish with poor aim and such, military are more rigid and looking around at all times. Little things like that would make the world feel more alive. But this is amazing thus far. I wish to support in any way I can
this man is not only a fantastic developer, he is even a greater project manager. building this alone is just crazy to fathom. AND HE EVEN FREAKING PORTED IT FROM UNITY TO GODOT

You my guy, you are an ARTIST. I remember the video that got me hyped about tarkov YEARS and YEARS ago, a video about them recording gun and grenade sounds out in the open in a forest. It just shows pure dedication, and you are the very same if not better. You are out there getting ideas and implementing them in a virtual world, this can not be anything but good. I genuinely wish you all the best and absolutely looking forward to your creation. Hats off, much love
As someone who re-textures classic games such as "Return to Castle Wolfenstein" and "Wolfenstein: Enemy Territory" I find this really fascinating, 6:16 , the texture enhancements and the visual improvements they create are top class.

that's a bit of a stretch for a compliment, all it needs is to have a realistic vibe (like the blandness vibe from gta iv), simple and straightforward for accounting for optimization, and looks decent enough, and it satisfies all of it, but it's not the best visual style, but it looks pretty enough
dynamic ambient is something awesome! and if it realy be in pare with ingame events in the future it will be so strong game feature!

@@GrainGrown "Kiddo"? 3/10 see me. 😄 But yeah, spell the man's name right, FFS.
I listened to the dynamic ambient example on headphones. I noticed that some elements which are placed far left/right on the rings are also panned almost hard left/right. On speakers this will work because both ears hear both speakers but there definitely needs to be an option for headphones where the sounds are not panned that far. Otherwise it will break immersion. So far the dynamic ambient is a very interesting concept. Keep up the good work!

Great work, man! Truely impressive. Just putting this out in the universe as a suggestion: ambient sounds that react to you. When you shoot a gun, the birds and crickets go silent in the immediate area. This could have different levels of impact. Walking vs running, firing a supressed vs loud weapon etc could have lower and higher impact on the ambient 'creatures'. "It's quiet around here.... too quiet"
Words can't explain how hyped I am for this game, it is exactly what I have been looking for YEARS. MAHTAVAA TYÖTÄ ANTTI!!
Cool devlog, i like the idea for the ambient sound. I hope i won't get paranoid every time a woodpecker hit a tree ^^
As a sound/games geek, just for that bear quote, epic job. Hoping you the best, sir!

I was skeptical at the beginning of this project but you really are doing it. This is turning out awsome. Love the detail in the ambience. Considering how much time you spend wandering, exploring and listening for threats in these types of games it really wraps you up in the atmosphere.
Yass! A heavy influence by the Salpa-line, I like it! I like everything in this!
Been streaming this every now and then to get word out there about this project. Keep up the good work! I’ve been loving what you’ve got going on so far. SOOO much potential! Thanks for making this happen 🧡
Come back every month just to make sure I don't miss anything, god, please I can't wait!
Your change to Godot gives me hopes & mission for my own game. Good luck on your journey!
This has been on my whislist from the first devlog. Much respect on the immense amount of work you are putting in to this. Kovaa tekemistä. Arvostan.
Awesome progress, you are incredible!!!
Absolutely love the idea with the dynamic ambient sound system and different areas!
Dude, youre insane... 1 man taking on a whole competition with his own two hands.
i like how the different zones progressively get more and more dangerous sounding, area 05 is peaceful, border zone puts you on edge and vostok has straight up horror noises and war sounds
So happy to see a new devlog about recent update of the project, keep up the great work 👍
Mate, you are amazing, following you since your first video. love the way you explain your work and share it with your community. wish you the best of luck and joy.😍

Ambient sounds are so often overlooked, so it's awesome to see your work on dynamic system (with game events at that); this is definitely setting you apart. Congratulations on the progress!

Back after a while.. what's it been. 6months? Keep up the good work. You're still very much on my radar. It can be hard to stay disciplined and motivated. More than I'd ever be capable of doing myself. So just wanna say that you should be proud of how far youve come already, and not lose hope or sight of your end goal. From one human being to another. ❤️
Just yesterday I asked myself if there will be a new Road to Vostok-update and there it is. Impeccable timing. Amazing update! This is one of the few projects I am getting hyped for. And its only thanks to you being so transparent and honest with everything. Keep it going like that and I am probably breaking the promise I made to myself not to buy early access games anymore.
Love your work!! ❤
This will have such an impact the Godot engine when RTV drops.
I took the end of the video to be a slight poke at Tarkov devs, like “here’s how crafting should work, it should make sense, it shouldn’t take 5 hours to put something together.” And then the fact that it’s a portable stove “let us cook” 😂 Keep it up! This is looking so good
man this is so great !
cant wait for the game it looks amazing, ive been keeping an eye it for sure.
This looks pretty in depth! I am really looking for to Demo 2.2, then the rest of the timeline of course! He mentioned a bear in the Border Zone, answers my question about other threats besides human NPCs. Keep up the awesome work with this project!
Keep this great game dev!
