Peanut was awesome. Good job on the nozzle.
Thank you very much Ron, it's really interesting to watch these videos. Cheers.
Awesome on scene video!
Thanks
Awesome video Ron!!
well done Peanut ... well done
Awesome video.
I'm not a fireman, ever fought a fire nor am I criticizing these fireman because I do NOT have the knowledge to do so... But I have to ask a question and it may sound stupid to fire fighters but it is only a question, is there a policy against opening the driver's side door, if it is unlocked, as in this case and just pull the lever that opens up the engine hood BEFORE trying to open up the engine hood with a pry bar that probably jammed the hood mechanism from opening for well over 2 minutes???

if you do so you still have to use your hand to unlatch the hood, are you ganna place your gloved hand on a 900 degree latch?

Normally the hood latch mechanism is made of aluminum so it is very quick to melt and become useless on working engine compartment fires like this....Pry Bar is about the only choice.

4stripguy the cable in the engine melts very easily
Which camera you used? I must say it has awesome clarity and color reproduction, good video
Must say great job showing the rookie some nozzel work, just keep that nozzel out more in front of you. Also awesome job to almost the entire crew having masks. Lets remember guys that car fires have some of highest levels of toxins. Be careful too getting in front, you should attach the fire from the side initially because those bumpers can fly at you and hurt you. But overall, one of the better videos i've seen
How did they get that horn to stop?
Why does it say November 22nd 2013 at the beginning?

JUDAH144k THE HUNTSMAN but the person on the nozzle was peanut
It bothers me when I see someone who is supposed to be a pump operator take that long to get water to a nozzle.
Is that a regulation helm peanut?
Engine 13 looks very small and compact for U.S. standards. What is the reason for this?
Yes that was a female ff on the tip.
i love engine 13
I know how the girl feels. Im just as short.
It was.
Got water?
just saying Peanut ( says on his jacket ) looks like a kid... might just be a small adult but he kinda looks like a kid

Got my months confused.
I think they kept hitting it until it stopped lol
Hey Peanut! Get the stick!
why didn't the heo know how to start the pump
Doesn't anyone see .the two firefighters waiting for water as jr does not have any clue to activate the pto .thank the second in to show him
Even named peanut on the jacket.Even if it is volunteer must be some restrictions.Other than that he or she is doing a great job.
is a woman or a man who grabs the line?
that was qwik
Kinda sloppy if you think about it, but got the job done
gee cant imagine how she got named peanut.

That's her last name. People have all sorts of weird last names, lol.
Isnt that why they have the power saws, to cut open the hood... Instead of wastin 5 minutes trying to force it??

They wouldn't want to generate more sparks around a scene where there are highly volatile materials involved, esp. after they'd just knocked most of it down. My question is, why'd they have 3 trucks respond for a single vehicle?
@KomplexMatr1

***** I seriously doubt that is the reason they didnt use a saw.... Were they afraid they would catch something on fire?? They probably were using the bar because it was quicker to deploy, and you can gain enough of a purchase with the bar to get water into the engine compartment which appears to be where the fire is.

That's not quite what I meant. Power tools aren't really justified in vehicle fires, unless there's someone trapped inside. Standard operating procedure is just to pry the hood up once the flames are knocked down, disconnect the battery to prevent electrical shorts, sparking hazards, and finish extinguishing whatever's left.

***** You can't really generalize what standard operating procedure is for everyone... Thats a very blanket statement to make. That may be your SOP for your dept. But we absolutely teach and use rescue saws for vehicle fires. A triangle cut isolating the hood latch can get you into a hood in seconds, you can also attack the hinges with a saw and fold the hood back over. The fact of the matter is that we as firefighters have a lot of tools in our toolbox and a lot of variations in SOPs. To over generalize like that is something that needs to be considered when making those kinds of statements.
Sometimes...it's best NOT to say anything about what we saw in that video. F/F's who watched. Probably were biting their tongue's too! Looks like somebody needs some training. It never hurts to get as much training as you can. GET THE IDEA?
that's nasty
What in earth are they doing! Like 1,5-2 minutes after arrival to start putting the fire out? It should be done like this: 20 seconds and the water flows. kzread.info/dash/bejne/oolorseMpL2Yhps.html
The girls hacker said peanut
kind a sloppy firefigthing the little guy or gal not ready for the big one
Who let the kid play with the hose again? Lol
thats a small engine
Every time, why is it so difficult to open a hood ? Take an ax if necessary. The car is already a total loss. Every car on fire… the same problem ! They guzzle with wrenches as a game...
I AM A FIREMAN FOR SIX MILE RUN VOL FC CO#36 IT IS FUN!
