Truthfully, I believe minimalism can definitely have a positive impact in all areas of life, not just in a material sense. I'm also working on a minimalist diet, fitness routine and my work. Nice and simple apartment.

I feel like minimalism has just become an aesthetic so now I see house decor with a bunch of stuff that are white and they call it minimalism. So this video is refreshing

This really makes me think about how much I have and how little I actually need. I'm in the process of decluttering our family home so this was very inspiring. Thank you. Rachelle, Australia 🦘 xo

This is exactly what happens. I went today to recycle store where they sell stuff for cheap to poor people, and I gave them another bag of stuff I haven't touched in months. It feels so great, you are becoming more and more free. Now it seems everything I have, I use with multi purposes if possible. For example my water bottle I use outside is also good water bottle when I sleep in my bedroom. I don't need any additional glasses for that. I still don't have extreme mindset when it comes to living, but I will give anything with no use.
Idk if you are against overconsumption, so it may not fit you, but there are few items which can be switched to reusable (for example, instead of toilet paper for the kitchen, a washable cloth or an old T-shirt would do the job and cut your expense even more, also, it would take less space than the entire tube of paper toilet. It seems like the razor is a disposable one, there are reusable ones (which you only need to change the blade) and electric ones, which don't need to be changed (again, more of a cost thing in the long run) Same with the disposable sponge, there are washable version of it. Also, there are multifunctional bar soap, which can be used for body and hair, if you want to give it a shot. I guess you reuse the disposable bag ? GG for the minimalism !
@gallerybyjoy

Hi, thank you for such a detailed thoughful comment! :) I'm definitely interested in combating overconsumption if possible, so it's always nice to see others who do as well. I like the idea of using reusable cloth for cleaning! I guess I could wash the rag after each use. Only thing is, I have a skin condition on my hands that make my skin crack up badly if I touch water too often. That's why I avoid handwashing anything, and I don't wash rags in washing machine because I also have to do work laundry in there as well. I do try to limit using too much toilet paper by using my blow dryer to collect dirt in one corner & only use toilet paper to grab the dirt. I can always use my kitchen gloves to wash the rags though, although it seems a bit daunting at the moment, I'll definitely consider it, thanks! As far as razor goes, I don't know if electric one can be used in certain areas of the body. I wonder if replaceable blades are any more environmentally friendly than the razor I use now. My sponge is reusable :) I did try to use multipurpose soap before! I talked about it in some of the earliest videos. I have to use disposable garbage bags that I purchase, because it's part of our garbage disposal law here. Hope I cleared up some of the things you were wondering. Again, thank you for suggestions & hope you continue to enjoy videos on our channel :) Cheers!
As far as the towel is concerned, try looking into 100% cotton towels. Not bulky, fast drying, and lightweight.

Yeah! Due to having eczema, 100% cotton usually is best for me :)
I love looking at these minimalist spaces. But it's easy to make it look like that when you just moved in. It's the accumulation over time that screws it up. Hope they fixed the hole in the wall!

You’re welcome, I love to share this aspect of my life with others :) I know what you mean, there’s always something to declutter (or at least make more efficient) when we pay attention & as we grow as people. If you can sell anything you don’t need that’s best case scenario! I don’t like to invest too much time into selling things so I usually just donate or throw away, haha. Thanks for commenting & have a great day!

It's much better for you than your previous house tour. Less space, more filled, even at same or less stuff you have. I'd even live myself in that as I'd need to donate and sell more. Right now there is no need, as my rent is cheap and I have 400 sq ft. If I move for less, there is usually much more rent in my area, so I stay in my cheap rent. Are you renting your house, how much rent?
@gallerybyjoy
2 жыл бұрын
Hi Rento! As much as I appreciate all the places I’ve lived, I do prefer having less things :) I think you’re being smart in keeping the rent low in a good area. It’s extra money you can save to put towards better investments/goals. My rent is around $400-$500, depending on utility usage, which I think is super affordable. How much is rent for you? Take care🙏😊

@@gallerybyjoy Hi, my rent is 500 dollars. I could lower it to 400 easily, but I'd need to over to less populated places of Finland. I prefer to live next to opportunities and in Finland this kind of a rent is really rare at these places. Most people here are "owning", but they are just renting it from their bank. Thank you, enjoy your house!
Nice apartment! I moved to a new apartment and it is very similar to yours but it's also very messy right now :D I feel like I need to get some plants to liven up the place, but I'm so lazy so probably wont happen haha. Hi Cindy! Ah yes, honestly it is difficult to be as minimal as we’d like if you’re living with someone else who’s not a minimalist. One trick is to create your own ‘bubble’, by challenging yourself to be as minimalist as you can be with your belongings and routines without expecting anyone else to change/join you. That’s a lot more difficult but also quite freeing when you realize you can be 100% yourself regardless of others’ willingness to help. You can do it❤️🔥 Wishing you the best luck xx😇
I wish I could live like this! Having a husband and kids makes it difficult but I try! Lol. Great video! Subscribed :)

Interesting to see a small apartment in Korea. Is there a lot of problems with bugs there? As I have seen many videos that talk about spraying, bug bombs etc. You must have a market close by to buy food you need quickly? What do you eat for breakfast/ lunch. Do you drink tea or coffee? You have no utensils for making those. I could live in a shoe box, as long as I had a coffee maker :)
@gallerybyjoy

Hi~ No problem with bugs as of yet :) Yes I have some videos that talk about how I eat & living close to the market. I do drink a lot of coffee but only at work. I talk about the coffee machine briefly in my most recent live video. Couldn't agree more about the coffee :) Have a great day!

I have now got to a point where most is minimalised. Now I go day by day and everything I touch I ask, "do I need this?" If not it is moved out of my life - thrown away, sold, donated. Anything I have not touched in one year - the same.

Hi Carl, that's wonderful to hear! I should do the same actually, if we pause to ask ourselves - REALLY ask - "do I need this?" more often than not, the answer is "No" actually. I'm glad you're already exercising in this regard. Have a great day! :)

I really like the simplicity and how you did downsize to essential. I am on my minimalist journey as well, since I was 15 actually (I am 30 y.o. now). There is only one thing I feel I need to point out. Not as a critique, just trying to challenge you even more (if that is possible). Do you think it would be achievable for you to reduce your non-organic trash? I saw some disposable items and plastic packages, so I was wondering if that would be a goal for you as well. Thank you.
@gallerybyjoy
2 жыл бұрын
That's amazing!! You've been a minimalist for so long, I can only imagine how much it benefited you in your life :) Yes, I do want to get closer to zero waste living eventually and reduce non-organic trash. However, my goals of minimalism & where I am at the moment make things bit difficult to do that. For once, I must cut down my spending to keep my business afloat, while not compromising on my health or waste time - the best option for me at this time is buying packaged rice. I think none of us can be perfect at all times, and I like to tackle the biggest challenges I have at the time first before I try to focus on being less wasteful. Thanks for reminding me where I could improve even further :) have a great day! xox

@@gallerybyjoy Thank you so much for answering me! 😍 I feel you on the expenses and time management for sure. Also, it is not as easy to do as it may seem, right?! I started my minimalism path mainly because I was dealing with mental health issues since I was a child. I found the concept in a magazine and it made total sense to me because I needed clarity, decluttering my thoughts, so doing this kind of intervention first in my space (at the time, only my bedroom) had a great impact. But like you said, nobody is perfect, so it has been a journey with ups and downs for me. Thanks a million! ☺🤍
