    Hi Ken. I was in hospital last September after a major operation and likewise Nicks updates kept my sprits up, even when Klop and all his 1st team walked the corridors passed the room I was in. Apparently doing some charity work whilst I was watching an update. Keep your sprits up Ken and remember you have the mighty blue army behind you. COYB

    Lee: have you still not received my long reply to this Q that you have repeatedly asked and which I have attempted, I think, three times? If not, I don't understand why YT keeps deleting it. I concur with Dunc on the Team Coach issue. Only emergency vehicles will have access when necessary under the mezzanine. The team coach MAY just poke its nose under the north end of the mezzanine when the weather is poor so that the players and staff get off under cover and then reverse out to park up elsewhere but they will then have to walk half the length of the under-mezzanine. They could also do that from the Front of House 'garage' but that's a lot lot less likely. The vast majority of times the team coaches will stop in front of the central tunnel through the terracing and the staff/players pass directly through that and the main West Stand Portal to their facilities on the ground floor of the West Stand.

    I can only reiterate exactly what Dunc has sent you. There are a few places around the bowl where they have omitted seats temporarily and it'll be only due to some schedule issue, like the're needing to have access there for something above, or for space to install something. There is no obvious clue for any of that at that particular space at this moment in time to us but I don't doubt it will have been planned in the schedule for a reason know only by LoR. There are always surprises in store so I can't rule out anything, e.g. they changed the East Stand Hospitality seating section, thus needing a non-symmetrical application and the addition of three sets of seats across the stairways about half way up the lower tier. That decision seems nuts but I am sure it will have some good, less-than-obvious reason.

On the vid you did with David Babcock's illustration some time ago I'm sure it showed sky lights in the mezzanine roof, but now that they're actually paving the roof it looks like that won't happen? It also showed that the two angled walls behind the terracing would be brick-faced. Is that not happening now? Regards

    The final approved plans from August 2020 have large stone blocks for fans to sit on and admire the view - they weren’t skylights. Yes, both external concrete wing walls will be covered in brick cladding to match the stadium 👍🏻

  • @davidbadcock2225

    @davidbadcock2225

    14 күн бұрын

    Wardie: that is absolutely correct. 1) In the settled September, 2020 plans there WERE skylights planned for the mezzanine, surrounded by Glass rails. At what stage and why they changed those is not known (to me, anyway), with it only being noticed when the concrete planking was laid on the steels. You can see the skylights and glass barrier rails on the designs for the West Concourse and in the imagery passed by the Planning Officers in documents from September 2020. 2) As per the point made above, we can't know IF plans have changed under the radar but I feel sure that they haven't changed the plans to brick-face the diagonal, side-cheek terracing support walls. It absolutely needs that contrast within the terracing to reflect and blend in the theme of the stadium West Stand facade behind.

    2 things this week…. do you think the ‘streaks’ on the roof will disappear over time? That west stand and south stand roof look almost like reject material compared to the north stand. Secondly, there is nothing that promotes that this is the home of Everton. No large badge or letters on seats,glass or exterior walls. I know heritage and the council wishes stopped this, but it’s a damn shame. I hope they figure a way around this. Projections maybe? Switch them off when the inspectors turn up and plead ignorance.😂

    Captain: re the Standing Seam Roof material , this is a copy of my comment, last used about 8 days ago. . . . "I'm going to write the short answer here as I've written a longer version numerous times in the last month or so in relation to the difference in colour-toning of the Standing-seam roof: The Standing-seam roof material is naturally-anodised aluminium. What that means is that it's manufactured aluminium that is allowed to react with whatever, naturally. In simple terms aluminium will adsorb oxygen from the air to produce a layer of Aluminium Oxide (Al2 O3) on the surface, which has a slightly different colour and opacity to pure aluminium. When it's produced in sheets they're rolled up in reels, which means that the surface is not exposed to air, and the reels are produced at different times, meaning the Aluminium has had different lengths of time for exposure. Therefore, over time, it will all naturally even out to be the same colour and degree of 'matt' finish. Because that will happen, it's NOT actually of significant importance to keep all the same aged reels adjacent to each other. It's only droners who will capture that differential just now but it'll merge before the stadium is used, even though no one will be any the wiser on the ground or using the stadium. I hope that satisfies your curiosity."

    People seem to forget that Hillsborough happened because people where entering a already full area and that no one could move because of fencing, where as at BMD how many thousands would fit on the "Fan Plaza" while also being able to see 360 degrees at what is going on around them unlike at Hillsborough where people where entering through a tunnel.

    Antony: this is what comes about if people don't concentrate hard on the wording of any 'news releases' and it can't be clear as to whether either you or your friend have stated or misheard any of the detail. LoR expect to complete the Stadium by Dec 2024. That may be dependent on HSE and Authority requirements on trial tests being completed too. However, EFC have decided not to use the stadium for football mid-season so GP will be used for all of the next EPL season. EFC will only start using the stadium for football matches at the start of the 2025-2026 season. Clearer?

    Hi Nick, thanks for chatting to me outside the ground before the derby. First time question here: Do you know, or anyone on here, if they will finish the East Stand Barrell Cladding (once they finished that small section by the South on the West) Barrell Cladding or continue to do it in small sections?

  • @davidbadcock2225

    @davidbadcock2225

    14 күн бұрын

    Gord: It's clear that they now have 2 teams working on the barrel-cladding simultaneously, with the 2 "under-the-hook" jigs for the cranes being the most significant unique item. This means that question of what the speed and order will be is rendered pretty trite. Apart from some potential below-the-barrel-cladding lifts contractors'access requirements there shouldn't be anything stopping the crew on the SW continuing along the West Stand. Likewise the crew on the SE will move northwards up to the expansion gap (where you can see the 2 small twinned steels) and will then be bale to do the East Stand section WHEN the Standing-seam roof has been completed on the East Stand.

    Colin: you're not wrong to be worried. The stadium will get completed as it's a huge asset. But who finances it and how is still very much in question, and that also has consequences on longer-term ownership of the stadium. In financial terms EFC is a liability as it stands, without BMD, and would need severe business-troubleshooting, whereas the stadium is a huge asset, capable of producing excellent financial returns. Without BMD one would have to question what EFC would be worth to any potential investor. So, it's crucial the stadium remains an EFC asset, which is less than certain, at this point in time. There WILL be a queue of shrewd investors interested in acquiring the stadium, whether part of EFC or not.

    Tony: being anodised aluminium, the barrel-cladding should stand the test of time, as a protection material lamina is the final addition. Having said that, as it's formed from sections, it wouldn't be TOO difficult to replace any that fall short over the test of time.

    John: it wasn't in the passed plans but clearly there has been some significant factor that has caused them to change the plan for the East Stand Hospitality seating. The original symmetrical rectangle has been made less deep but wider, meaning it's now stretched further southwards, so the seats across the aisles is a compromise 'wall' to signify the bottom of the new shallower bottom-edge of the area, if that makes sense. Let me know if it's not clear and I'll try to do a more-specific comparison of plan and post-plan changes with timestamps and more specific reference points.
