NEW EPISODE | TIME TEAM - Boden Iron Age Fogou, Cornwall | Day 3, Series 21 (Dig 1)

It's Day Three of Time Team's first brand new episode in a decade. New presenters Dr Gus Casely-Hayford and Natalie Haynes join team members old and new to investigate a prehistoric settlement in Cornwall with mysterious Iron Age underground passages, known as a fogou.
Armed with new technology, and with help from Site Director James Gossip and the Meneage Archaeology Group, Time Team have just three days to shed light on this fascinating prehistoric site on the Lizard Peninsula. Can they resolve all of their questions on the final day?
Day One: • NEW EPISODE | TIME TEA...
Day Two: • NEW EPISODE | TIME TEA...
** ABOUT TIME TEAM **
Time Team is a British archaeology series that originally broadcast on the UK's Channel 4 for 20 series, and countless specials. Over the years, the team excavated over 220 sites, from back gardens to Buckingham Palace. The show has now returned to KZread, thanks to the incredible support of thousands of worldwide fans on Patreon.
Series 21 (Season 21) of Time Team follows two incredible new digs, each released in extended 3-part episodes exclusively on the Time Team Official KZread channel. The first dig explores a mysterious Iron Age site in Cornwall; the second investigates a huge Roman villa on the estate of a Tudor castle in Oxfordshire.

So VERY VERY happy to have Time Team back. Like many people I watched the 20 seasons over the last two years of pandemic and it is soothing and educational to view those shows. Of course we miss Mick and Victor and so many others from the early years, but am pleased to see Matt, Helen, Carenza, John and Stuart back on tv. The new presenters have a different approach than Sir Tony, but that is fine. Thank you Tim Taylor for getting this done - and people if you don’t subscribe to Patreon to help fund these episodes, please do - it is well worth it. good point. Social work education to observe social development in individuals, families but also community & work groups; inclusion of some debriefing in relaxed time is a good way to enable support, critiques, speculations, planning & further analysis of their day or TT activities. This strikes at the very core of human need - to develop safe, mutually beneficial work framed within ongoing relationships; and with similarly interested, yet very different & passionate folks to challenge inflexibility. I'm here to seek the strengths of the British people, catch familiar & unheard of lingo, grammar & sub-cultural accents. The good spirit & energy of Time Team actually enabled the re-birth of a veteran suffering with PTSD; who b/c it was life changing for him to reconnect to the present world, he went on to study archeology and create archeology opportunities for other veterans. as an adult child of generational trauma plus (both world wars, great depression, 1940's immigration from England to Canada) I too find engaging with Time Team always grounds me, the music & characters in the countryside soothes, it's assuredly safe with everyone being an experienced in 3 days of their lives and more. After working their body, knees, arm, wrist & even finger muscles, the pub environment would lighten and brighten up the show, make transparent jovial after thoughts, reflections & puns too.

To see John Gater and Stewart Ainsworth bending over a map, the lovely Carenza and knowledgeable Naoimi, Matt and Helen, and so many more: this warmed my heart to the core. Time Team was my late husband's and my very favourite programme -- we have so many Time Team books on our shelves, and watched almost (maybe?) every episode from the earliest days. Thanks to everyone who helped get them back on the "air"! I'm going to go lend support to their Patreon account in hopes there will be many more Time Teams to follow.

Excellent work! Looking forward to watching the next dig.

Gus and Natalie were lovely professionals. They did their job brilliantly. As an historian I applaud. Wonderful to see Time Team back. Do we miss Tony? Yes, a bit but he was an actor firstly. If the programme makes it back on MSM TV then no doubt another actor will be hired to bring conflict into the narrative. But this is an archaeological investigation fore-mostly and it answered questions that viewers may have. I enjoyed it. Great effort and well done TEAM 22!

Yes, that’s one thing I missed too was the end of the day pub time, that bridged the day, when they would sort of talk about the day’s finds and the day to come. That was a really nice part. Maybe it’s just me but I didn’t really feel there was much partying or camaraderie going on and in that way it’s coming off kind of dry and loses the spark, to be almost rigid. You get the feeling that everybody just goes home and comes back the next day like any other job. There’s lots of archaeological documentaries one can watch these days but what made Time Team special was the way they related to each other with their humor amongst the academia. I’m glad it’s back though , so I will keep on watching and maybe it’ll get better. I also liked the former one episode/3 day scenario as when could sense and feel the anticipation and build up of moving towards the third day. It gave it more of a sense of fun excitement. Knowing that of course they would come to a conclusion but sometimes they were surprises in the end. I miss Tony and Phil but time marches on.

I enjoyed the show . You cannot expect the dynamics, the chemistry, of the unique original Time Team characters with a, sometimes a little bit venomous, Tony running around and questioning , Phil's laid back answers, Mick always reflective , the genius of Victor , Carenza, Guy and Helen , John who did the indispensable preliminary work and Stewart with his helicopter view of the surroundings, the lumps and the bumps. It was nice to see some of these people back in the new setup. You cannot get back to the old times, but it was very entertaining and you could see how much effort was made to realize this. Let's remember the old Time Team as an unique one time ( although it lasted twenty years) TV phenomenon

Just finished day 3 and I have to say you have outdone yourself. Takes a while to get used to the new characters but the inclusion of some of the prior time team members makes it work. Yikes, so many PHDs in one place! Two very minor suggestions. (1.) You need more than 3 days to fully investigate your site. This was a problem carried over from old time team shows. (2.) Who is in charge here? Is it Gus or Natalie? Whether you liked him or not Tony acted as a foil for Stewart, John, Carenza, etc. and knew just enough about archaeology to keep things focused and interesting. If they decide to designate someone to replace Tony I suggest that they might consider one of the females. Carenza, Helen, Danni, Bridgette, etc. are all extremely well qualified .

This proves it still works whilst modernising some elements but I was left wanting more. I guess that is where the patreon element steps in. Whereas with the TV show you could just wait till the next episode and almost forget what was left unanswered. Now if one so wishes they can stay connected and learn more over time. Its a great achievement pulling this off.
