When I was in high school the kid across from the school had a white 66 charger just exactly like in this show, went over there one day to watch him putting a crass ram on it, never seen one before and after that day.

Little error in the geography of the book. Dennis and Arnie live on the same block but yet it's a long damn ride home on New Year's Eve.

I’ve said this before, every time I watch this show, it makes me so mad, that the first car I had, was a brand new, off the dealership showroom floor, a Brown 1973 340 Cuda. Unfortunately, I had electrical problems with the Voltage Regulator, replacing it 3 times in 50,000 miles. I also had trouble with the bypass hose, and carried one, jugs of antifreeze and water, a toolbox and duct tape to make a repair. That bypass hose also blew 3 times as I recall. So, in 1975 I got a Trans Am. Man I miss that Cuda!!!

@@briankendallRyanandBrian I know I have the Sticker and Broadcast Sheet (It was found under the front passenger seat) but like a lot of stuff, it’s in a box of papers somewhere here in the house “unless my wife was cleaning up stuff”🤔 or 😭. It was just over $4,000 MSRP, but my Dad’s buddy had a used car lot and he did a lot of business with buying their used cars, so he got us a deal at Dealer Invoice. I have a picture of that Cuda as my photo for my cell phone photo. You enjoy that car!!! Is for 340s only still in business? Ed Hamburger wasn’t it?

Dude...if they couldn't fix that stuff at the dealer they were giving you a royal screwjob. But I guess they could get away with things easier back then. Then again, today they just assume nobody knows anything and they'll try the thinnest lie.

Why don't you guys revive that stolen 60 Pontiac from it's forest resting spot it would be Kool to see it being restored

Well, technically, anything can be 'restored'. Back in the '90s there was a story about a '70 LS6 Chevelle taken out of the water near Daytona beach...rotted to hell...and it was restored. Pretty sure it was a tag job though. But let's say you take a restored, perfect 1960 Pontiac and park in in a clearing in the woods. Nobody messes with it. Sits there 10 years. Weeds and grass will grow up into the frame, suspension, floors...and rot the car away. Leaves, pine needles, bird shit etc...into every nook and cranny. Acids from wastes eating paint, debris from trees trapping moisture in and on and inside each panel It's just not worthwhile to take on a project like that without very good reason.

I remember 20 years ago my friend bought a mint condition tm400 I mean mint still had the warning tags on fender and tank I took it for 1 ride til he saw me coming up the road riding a wheelie. The tm400 is basically a ts400 but lighter crank and for there time they were wicked, to me it was kind of slow I had a cr500 and a kx500 still for its time the tm400 was a rocket

I have friends and family that *hate* this show. Of course we all owned old cars. Like 20+ years old, it was cool. But I was the one who tore them apart and did things and kept the same one for decades and decades and had a shop rented for working on them abd all the factory manuals and tools. I was the one scouring swap meets and haunting junkyards for that last peice of unobtanium stainless trim. I'm leaking oil? Take half the car apart, fix or refinish everything in sight, then tear the engine down, install that rope seal per the factory spec using the factory instructions that was me. 300 hours of body work? Yeah I'm almost done....and most of my family and friends hate this show. Just hate it I love it. I ate splept lived and breathed classic cars. I get it, earlier seasons were more reality show than I like too, with characters like Daren. But underneath it all I get the clowning and joking and manufactured drama, it's all fun. More or less. But hey it's TV take it for what it is. I love all the horror movies Mark references, the Christine bits he and Dougie do just kill me. In later seasons I see a lot of the stuff I'd prefer, the tech of doing things and the hows and whys. My and my cousins were a lot like Dougie and Mark. Falling out of and off of cars, dumb things like jumping off roofs into pools. Shooting fireworks at neighbors' houses...cars passing by...lots of other dumb and wrong things. That was me and my cousins, too. Still best friends too.
