Update! I am happy to report that the ELF Lash 'N Roll mascara did not flake, budge OR smudge after 12 hours of my wear test! It HELD the curl of my lashes, without even curling them! Love a good dupe! For me, mascara has so many variables: easy application, no clumping, does is curl lashes, how well does it wear, (no smudging or flaking), and how easy is it to remove? And like you said, it has to dry out a bit to be buildable. Comparing the elf to the others you used, I think elf did a good job of curling and lengthening. 👁

Wow 🤩, awesome dupe review. Elf really makes some great budget alternatives to high end make up & skincare; they’re so budget it’s not even a big deal if it doesn’t work out! Thank you!!

ELF gets my vote. They used to have a basic lengthening mascara in a pink tube that I often purchased for about $4-5, but I think they either discontinued it or they repackaged it (and raised the price, of course). I've been using Lash It Loud when I use ELF, even bought a backup tube. ELF makes really good mascara as well as other makeup necessities. And you know how much I love the prices! ~Cynthia

I have both of these and I agree. Tower 28 and Elf are similar. I find T28 to be a bit drier and Lash n Roll to be more of a tacky formula. I never liked Roller Lash so I was surprised I liked the Elf.

The ELF one stood up well against the others. Does it smudge/come off, that’s my issue with mascaras I like those silicone applicators, really helps you to define your lashes

Hi Cat…..just finished wrapping the last of the Xmas presents and checked you tube and immediately clicked on your video. I think the ELF mascara looked exactly the same as the Tower 28 mascara. After a day of wear how did it hold up? Any flaking or smudging? I don’t wear mascara often because it always ends up smudging under my eyes. This is with every mascara I’ve tried even waterproof. I have the same type of eyelashes as you…stick straight out and mine don’t hold a curl. But I might give ELF a go for this price…..$8.00 in Canada. Great video Cat…take care!! 😊🇨🇦🎄

I absolutely refuse to pay more than 15 dollars for a mascara, not when there are so many good, if not great ones out there for much less than the pricey big name brands. My current fave is Maybelline Lash Sensational Curvitude. The wand is exactly like the one you're using. No flakes, but an occasional smudge ☹️ . I'll have to check out the ELF one!
