The addition of Johnny did the group some MAJOR added justice.

@@trelsingz355 Also they really carried the bridge and the background better in the movie, especially JG's part, but this production was entertainment excellence.

I can watch this video over and over and see something different to appreciate EVERY TIME! Ralph with those spins and I mean he was GITTIN ‘cross that stage! Johnny’s pipes in the background and that shimmy. Rick, Ron, & Mike with the crazy crisp steps…The precision! Rick’s pop out with the spin & skip. And back to Ralph performing even through his eyes…Sheesh! Just gives me chills!🫨
They did their thang on this video and with the vocals. I get chill bumps every time I watch this video. I love it.
ok so I had to come revisit this after the Soul Train Music award too. yaaass they was killing it
Can somebody give Ralph Tresvant his due credit for bringing so much energy to this performance. Him being primarily the lead singer should’ve been a no brainer if it wasn’t.

Ralph giving me Michael Jackson's vibe, best group ever,respect..❤❤..
Johnny Gill puts the icing on the cake and the cherry on top. I'm glad he was put on those songs.
I like the moves in this video, very on point; Brook Payne was ahead of his time.

Everytime I hear this song I HAVE to look at the video. Idk how to explain it, but it feels magical to watch the concert performance because of the way they are singing, the lighting, how precise their moves are, and their outfits.....everything is just perfect.

Maddygurl12304996 YES! I've been saying this for years about this video. All the reasons you gave are valid, but do you know one thing that REALLY ties all those elements together on this video? Good editing! This video is FLAWLESSLY edited! Each camera shot is edited with precision for maximum effect. Another video like that that comes to mind is "I'm Your Man" by Wham! Just flawless cinematography and editing there, too!
@Maddygurl12304996

I never really thought about the editing. Good point!
All these years later, I'm just realizing there are two choreographies going on towards the end. Ricky seamlessly breaks from Mike and Ron to join Ralph and Johnny's steps. So smooth.

I know that Ralph and Johnny was working the audience, and Ricky too, but I gotta give it up to Ronnie and Mike...they didn't have any rapping in this song, but those men did the damn thang with the background singing and dancing!!

Me too, girl. Count it all Joy, and know that we are fortunate. What a time we had! What a time that was! And, we are all still vital, and living life now. I feel kinda bad for those who did not grow up in the era we did. We are the 1st hip-hop generation, you know? So many legends we saw, from the ground floor. I would not trade it for anything...
