Here's an update to the reversible plushie tutorial! I loved seeing all the designs you made over the past few months and decided to come up with some new techniques. This DIY shows you how to make ears for double plushies as well as a neater way of sewing the bottom. I did find this method a bit trickier to stuff since there's no glue holding the stuffing in place. This meant doing a bit more adjusting when flipping the plush but I was still pleased with how it turned out. If I had to remake this, I'd definitely try using fluffy socks and making smaller ears.

I’m so glad you are making throwback tutorials like this, it’s truly a joy to see how you’ve improved but also still love doing! Never stop doing what you love, your creations are wonderful and your personality is even better! Thank you for spreading such a great influence to children and young adults!

I have a easier method fill up the sock 1st and get the other one and put it inside and sew it and the design is a simple egg on the other side and on the other is a simple egg shape animal like cat dog pig

A helpful tip from someone who makes a ton of plushes :0 ! If you’re using templates, I highly suggest you cut out the felt before sewing it, without drawing on the fabric ! It makes it so no marker is seen at the seams and instantly makes it look for professional! I hope this helps :D Have a great day 💜✨
I've made a reversible plushie from your old tutorial and it turned out really good for a first attempt I was able to gift it to my best friend that still loves it to this day 😊💗 I miss making these, maybe I'll review more of your tutorials and make more kawaii plushies (*^▽^*)

Thank you! I'm amazed myself how many of these tutorials have accumulated over the years 😂. I actually started out making sock plushies because I wasn't good at sewing so I couldn't make plushies that involve pattern cutting. However these have evolved into an entire genre of their own and once you get the hang of it, it's so fun to make!

@@maqaroon yes!!! I tried the black kitty tutorial years ago, also the pink paper clay cat macaron. You make some of the best tutorials out there! You make it so easy to follow along, what with using different colored thread, steady movements, and a calm voice. Thank you thank you for giving me many years of inspiration!
I loved this vid but I never did it cause it was so hard, I’m glad there’s a new version
I used up all my socks trying to make this......great... now I don’t have any socks for winter LOL 😆 🤣 Btw cutest craft ever 🥰
Hi! I watched your 1st video on this flip plushie 2 years ago and tried it with a panda and Totoro. It turned out super cute, but I noticed the same problems you addressed in this video, so I’m really glad that you’ve shared the solution! Thank you for always reaching for better things to help us in our cute craft journey :3 So excited to try this method! ❤️

I made a Penguin/Owl plush a few years ago and it’s still sitting on my dresser. Named the penguin Thelma and the owl Louise.

Awww thank you!! Wow strange coincidence, the design of the owl is actually based on a stuffed toy called Louise the Owl by the japanese company Monseuil. It appears in the film Lost in Translation and I have two of their Louise plushies 😂
I’m definitely going to try this! Adorable! ❤️
I absolutely love ❤️ how you made it with socks, so now every one can do it!

Guys, tell me, please, how to make sure that your cheeks are not smeared? I want to give my mom a gift 😅 (Sorry for spelling mistakes, if any. I used google translate)
@noaccount2494

Also my concern. How does the makeup not smear or get washed out
@maqaroon
3 жыл бұрын
Hi! I've never had any problems with the cheeks smudging, even if you flip or play with the plush a lot. I wouldn't recommend washing these plushies because they're hand-made and quite fragile. However if the colours do wash out, then you can simply reapply the colour 😄

If you want to experiment you could also mix the pastel with a bit of fabric medium and water that down a lot to have just the right consistency so it won't be stiff. But you need to play around with another sock trim first because the medium will make the pastel stick a lot! And it will be EXTREMELY vibrant and harder to smudge out. So practice and dilute slowly to find the perfect watercolor type of color that you can apply in your plushie. If you don't mind harder fabric you can also put a very small amount in the medium and not even dilute it, just try to directly create a translucent color. It will work with eyeshadow and acrylic paint too but acrylic is not translucent as much and is harder to blend Just practice not on your final piece 😰
Joanna I just started watching today and I am loving it!!!! It will be the first time I am sewing a plushy and I am so excited for it!!!!😀😆
Aw omg it’s sooo cute 🥺🥺🥺🥺 you are so talented!!!
My 7 year old just made this, so easy and adorable!! Thank you for sharing this with us all.
I made this from your last tutorial with 3 plushies ^.^ It's a little cramped but it sure worked. Great video!
Ahh I was just watching a video of yours and wondering when you were gonna post again when I saw this! 💕
thanks for making this video. I wanted to follow your previous one but that includes fluffy socks and I don't have them. this is why this was very helpful thank you Joana
i tried these out a while ago and it worked so well thank you!
hi maqaroon, not sure if you'll see this but i just wanted to say i'm so thankful for you and your videos. believe it or not, your videos have helped me through hard times, and whenever i have an anxiety attack i come to your channel which often helps me calm down. i know it doesn't seem like much but it really means a lot to me and i appreciate you.
If you tuck in the raw edges of both socks and bring the folds together then you can use a whip stitch, or even use a tiny ladder stitch, to close the bottom. That would completely hide the raw edges. It's the same principle as closing a hole left for turning or stuffing in a regular plushie. Hope that helps some one. I make plushies all the time. These are really so very cute.
I love your videos so much! 🥰
Love your sewing videos, you're the person that made me start sewing :)

Always turned out pretty just like the first one you made few years ago💞😍
I love how its so Kawaii! I'm gonna try this!
Oh i see you have an update. Just as cute. You could just make the hole in the end f the blue one, stuff all the way down to the other one packing at sides. Sew and draw end hole up tight. You could make it off center so an ear covers it or something else. Push the blue side back inside of the other one poking it into center. Maybe. I haven’t tried any yet. Just love this reversible idea!
I bet your daughter would love this
