Nice upgrade, but I got the last gen Pro 8 after your review. It has performed very well. The only negative for me is the porky weight. FYI the 8 Pro got an update a couple days ago and one of the listed improvements is "better compatibility and performance with DJI Apps"! 👍Will see if we get flyable weather tomorrow and check if there is any noticeable improvement.

Hello there, I seem to be the first one commenting! I will tell you, there is a considerable amount of information that you are conveying to me here. It was staggering. I re-ran the entire video twice, plus a couple or three kick-backs so I wouldn't miss anything. I hope I sound intelligent in the following questions. I'm asking so I will understand completely. 1) Am I basically correct in assuming that the tablet is used to have a bigger screen so one can see all the pretty pictures and action that the drone is showing us? And a bigger screen shows more detail obviously. 2) It sounds like that Triptek Tablet has all the features of a Smart Cell phone? It can run many types of Apps and make calls, True? 3) Did you say the screen is glass or plastic? If glass, is the screen protecting film you removed necessary to replace (as you mentioned you would later) - glass should be impervious to water and dust and whatever (to a minor extent). I may come up with a follow up question after your reply. Thanks very much, I watch nearly all your videos, they are packed with information.

Here are the answers: 1. tablet has an 8" screen which is a good size but obviously there are other tablets on the market larger but just not as bright or as impervious to weather. 2. Yup, it is pretty much a cell phone. It runs on Android 12 so it runs Apps that are compatible with that. 3. Screen is probably gorilla glass like all tablets and cell phones. The screen protector is already applied when you get it. What I pulled off was what I thought to be the screen protector but it was actually just the remaining removable piece.

For operating pretty much independently on the field with your DJI drones, I feel like this thing is perfect. It's also Android which I appreciate. You might want to get a lanyard to hold the tablet, my wrists would start to hurt after a while.

Hey Steve, I love my tripletek it is awesome. I haven’t got the new version but the one I do have is really the way to go tablets do suck because you can’t see when there’s any kind of sunlight or even high bright overcast.

At that price, you might as well get an RC Pro!

Looks interesting - I'm running a Samsung Galaxy Tab Active3 with my Phantom 3P, which is excellent except for the screen brightness, which doesn't cut it in bright sunlight.

The two prong UK plug is new to me. How’s that getting in the wall when you need the earth prong just to open the other two?

An adapter came with mine. It converted that American two prong to the EU / UK two prong that fit to a shaver type plug. It is the right hand one in Steve's hand at 3 min 15 secs. What that flat pin two prong fits is beyond me but you do get what you need in the pack.

When it comes to DJI, I am not sponsored by DJI which means I have to buy all the DJI products. Many KZread channels are sponsored by DJI so they will receive a new DJI product before it is released. If I wanted to be sponsored by DJI, I would then not be able to review half the products I currently review, I'd have to become a mostly DJI channel, and there are plenty of those. So to answer your question.... I have no intentions of buying the MOTION CONTROLLER 2 as I have no need for it, and I already have two sets of the high level DJI FPV Goggles 2 (which I constantly use) and currently have no need for the lesser DJI Integra FPV goggles. Remember, everything I buy, I buy so that I can use it.

I have a regular 10 inch tablet, with a sims card. its a 2023 android plays freat but i have to have screen cover to see it in the day,but it works fine. I have plenty of of money but im not wasting a 1000 dollars on this small tablet when i can buy a 65 inch smart screen tv for 985 all day, every day. But if people pay those kinda price fot items, the manufacturer, will dish out that kinda price it took about 80 dollars to make it, and they making a 920 dollar profit, wow.

Nice tablet, too bad price is twice what my DJI Mini 2 cost...What I want is a near equally bright tablet , but less features ( like no mobile phone) and less bullet proof for less money. All tablets now should be thought of as indoor/out door devices. A bit of competition from lesser tablets would bring the Tripltek price down.

I’ll stick with my mini tablet it has worked fine all this time a grad is a grand not everyone can just cough that out.😂😂😊

According to the description, I was expecting to see a flying tablet, or at least a demo of a drone flying with this one.

The 4K capaability is worth an upgrade. Probably better than theLilliput.

Very nice review of a very nice and very heavy tablet. I'll stick with my very bright and very light Samsung devices. Heck you can get free or heavily discounted Samsung devices if you time things right and are willing to switch cell phone providers every two to three years.

Might consider the Xiaomi note 12 in a rugged case. Half price at 1200 nits. The 13 will do 1900 nits!!! Eventually, you'll need a welding helmet to look at your phone.

Dislike fax noise, just thought I would share, you had a great theme/intro music, what happen you have been trying different music when you had a great one. But your videos are great Steve.

This may help... Every Captain Drone video (hundreds of them since 2016) all have a different intro (no theme music). When I make a video that really needs no intro, like this one, then I just use the 3 second intro to quickly get on with it. For products where there is motion, then those are the ones I make a longer intro and always different music, different graphics, different everything.

I received about eight firmware updates on my T8 since the last year

can this tablet support gaming? there hasn't been a gaming 8" 4G/5G water resistant/dust resistant tablet and this one is the closest i can find to that. Lenovo Legion Y700 comes close too but it doesn't have 4G/5G support.

Had to send it to them because it was losing charge while it was off. They perform test on it and there was an issue with the battery controller. They are sending me a new TRIPLTEK 9. It sucks that I had to pay to ship it to them.@@CAPTAINDRONE798

If I have not replied to whatever question you are referring to it is because your question/comment is burried under 100,000 other comments.

It looks great, but difficult to justify as it's the same price as a mini 3 with smart controller from dji or 3x the cost of a fimi smart controller.

I bought one of these not to fly drones but to run Navionics on my sailboat and to control my Gopro camera and Canon DSLR. This thing is massively unstable. I have had numerous times I have turned it on only for it to then shut off and restart for now apparent reason. I have done a factory reset three times now trying to clear up various bugs. The thing does not seem to work with OTG peripherals, so I can't tether my Canon D60 to control it remote by usb. (Actually it did work at first but now not). The battery only seems to last at best a couple hours at full brightness. For $1400 Canadian I cannot recommend this unit. I would definitely not use it to control a drone, considering the problems I have been having. Customer support is useless.... maybe I will put out my own KZread video to warn the public.

Way out of pocket for the average person! The 8 Pro is currently £899.00 on Amazon… so the 9 is probably going to be over £1000.00! Sadly not going to happen as good as it seems to be….

Wifi is not 2, 4 and 5 GHz, but 2,4 and 5 GHz, only two frequency bands.

So expensive!

No 5G and it isn't a radio controller, no reason to buy it for 99% of custom drones as people would just buy 100 - 1000 dollar goggles and a 60 dollar controller For once I would like to see an ELRS capable phone / tablet. They say your best camera is the one you have with you, and the same should be said for controllers. if they put the capability to connect and fly the drone whether standalone or with a simple USB controller attachment, I would immediately buy one Less stuff to carry around

I posted on the 8 pro when it came out. The 9 pro is following the same flaws and red flags. 🚩🚩🚩 price is way to high for what it is. It's not maintained by a name brand. Think of this product as a raspberry pi in 2023. Scalper prices for not a whole lot. It's not "high-end" it's not "the only one" don't fall for this shady company selling over-priced equipment. Make sure you do your homework and compare against other name brand tablets of the android varient and some other non-name brand but "rugged" you will see that this tablet may say 1300nits but the sun will always beat your tablet into submission. Just get a sun shade or mKe one out of cardboard, simple easy and free. I do not recommend this product and I hope people respect that view.

I bought the original, couple of months later I contacted customer service...forget it, lousy, lame, not professional at all...l definitely would not recommend this company 😑 😒.

4:06 A very bad tablet with only 800x1280 resolution, claims it is a 2560 by 1600 pixels display. Four times smaller. You can notice it if you do a screenshot and look at the image info.

It’s not the brightest tablet, and it’s also bulky and unsuitable for drone flying. HUGEROCK X7 2600nit, 435g

At release it is the brightest SUSTAINED. A tablet can’t sustain brightness at high levels unless it is specifically designed with a cooling screen and large battery. You may wish to check the brand specs of the one you spoke of.

I have the last one. Won't be buying this one. I will wait for the one after the next 2. Not enough upgrade to warrant the steep price! If folks have not realized the US economy continues to stall. Money is tight and future unsure.
