I saw a new style mirror last week on Arriva London North route 41 DW550 I was surprised to see it thanks for the video Anton

Wish we had this at our garage.. it looks so great

Great video Anton except... the blindspot mirror in your video is actually 'upside down'! The blindspot section should be at the base of the mirror - not the top (as per shown on the CCTV mirrors now being introduced)! Just a minor point to mention - otherwise a great video to support the introduction of better mirrors! Well done!!!

buses in south of uk ...I prefer hybrid diesels more than diesel only! I've yet to drive a fully electric bus...and I've been told they ere nicer than the hybrid diesel! The hybrids are very smooth to drive! Acceleration and braking are very nice indeed, especially on the enviro hybrid which is gearless! 😊👍

I saw this on the new company 401 bus now ran by ARRIVA (R.I.P GAL) and wow, they are so *cool*

I always see these mirrors on arriva buses the always have them to just it looks kinda weird but since it helps so you can see when your pulling out I guess its a good mirror

I hope they eventually roll out these new mirrors to the rest of the country. Would be great on all of our buses :-)

Arriva London had them for few months now, and we are not supposed to have the small mirror at the bottom, it must always be at the top!!!!!! and many drivers like it the other way round!!!

Riaz Ali ...ADL have introduced smart vision which use cameras instead of mirrors and are in the inside just like mirrors

Sam Rogers ...the mirrors are more advanced on the big trucks...the mirrors angle down towards the ground as their mirrors are positioned very high up (8-9ft) compared to bus mirrors! (6ft)

Q from a passenger: Trams drivers use small screens in the dasboard instead of mirrors. Could a combi of camera's/screens replace the mirror. A posssitive thing could be that the driver has to look in only in one direction: the dashboard?

Johan Wagenaar ...it is possible Johan. ..but looking in a camera is not as good as looking in a mirror with the human eye! The human eye can detect things better than looking into a camera! Mirror, signal, manoeuvre has always been part of the driving test!

I wish there were bins on the busses :(

People will still won't use it, I did a job for a friend of mine who runs a coach company that provides buses for a university, We put out bins for the students to use but yet the bus was still used as a tip!!

But the good news that the bus has double side mirrors but if someone overtakes you when you are going slow do they complain

Many Arriva buses have those numbers

Have you seen/ridden/driven the Enviro400 bodied Volvos?

These mirrors are very useful, but in your video they are upside down. The smaller mirror should be at the bottom

Arriva yorkshire have the double mirrors now they had them for months

Ngl the Mirror-less buses on the ADL buses are great but there was one problem with one of Go-Ahead Metrobuses new E400 MMC Mirror-less om the 107 route as one of there screens went blank.

Oh seen that on the 349 lol :) (the mirror)

Some buses have the smaller section of the mirror at the bottom and the large section at the top

Translink are keeping the old style mirrors although they are black and bigger in size than the old London ones

By the way a certain London bus company which I can't say, has new optare metro decker buses but the electric version in the new cross garage. Has ur bus garage got them and if yes, have you driven one?☺

In my opinion these new mirrors are the worst I ever seen in my 6 years of driving London buses.They are very cheap ,distort image,very difficult to adjust them,confusing at times,can't see properly from them and can't feel the end of the bus.I think these kind of mirror are great and they proven to work on lorries and coaches but this particular made is rubbish.As you see on the video the little one is on the top that means someone turned it upside down as we do that in my garage and it makes it a bit better but not much as still some of them distort image very badly.

Sure Not ...yes..ive noticed that the small part of the mirror is either at the top or bottom when I take over from different drivers! 😀👍

Extra question from the passender: do London buses have a camera direct behind the bus. How do you see for example if children are playing behind your bus. Tramdrivers can go to the other side of the tram and pull back. There will be situations that you can't simply go straight forward or turn. How do you manage to go backward with such an enormous machine without hitting somebody. Maybe a topic for a new video?

I once went on a bus with a mirror with a long arm and it hit a phone box and the mirror bounved back smacked off the door and hit the windscreen.

Our buses have had them for at least 1 year now, but they are all on the left

That offside mirror position is wrong the smaller mirror should be at the bottom it serves to purpose at the top.

the new style mirror should have the normal mirror at the top and blind spot at the bottom.

I never liked the wright bodied buses! I don't the placement of the door controls!

As a driver of trucks and coaches I’m actually quite shocked at how abysmal bus Mirrors are! Particularly the near side mirror in this vid! Not much bigger than a van mirror!

Chatta290 Don't get them down where I drive. Mainly scanias and enviros. Got 18 year old buses still in service and they drive better than the newer ones

A poor set of mirrors will reflect badly on you lol

We had one of those installed when an Ambulance went past on blues and twos and smashed it. But it did more damage to their own. I prefer the single mirror. Just too much to look into.

Are you allowed to take a bus home with you as a driver?

Can the have magic mirrors making fat women looks slim?
