I saw some of Gonzalo Lira's videos. He was NOT pro-Russian but he was a realist. He explained the reality of what was happening and the realities of events that had happened or probabilities of those that were about to happen. If people can be imprisoned, tortured and killed for being realistic, then we are in real trouble. It is now clear that if you do not agree with propaganda, then you are considered the enemy. This applies to both sides and Gonzalo Lira will not be forgotten.

I am very sad to hear of Ganzalo's murder by the hands of the zelensky government, and yes it was a defacto killing by the prison caretakers, thus murder. It appears that things are very bad in Ukraine for civilians such that no one would stick their neck out to help him. And maybe he took more risk than most thus making it very risking for himself. Whatever the case, I am very angry at my government for doing nothing for him, while raising a stink about a wnba star caught smuggling narcotics into Russia. The U.S. does everything to get her back from Russia though she actually broke their law, but Gonzalo who has U.S. citizenship and is reporting what is actually happening in the war, even if it goes against the planted U.S. narrative, gets arrested by ukraine's secret police (on fake charges I'm sure), and has his own country turn their back on him. Gonzalo also helped me with advice when my ex-wife was trapped in Kiev at the beginning of the world and needed to get back to Sumy .He was a great lover of truth. My heart hurts. FYI her apartment building was later hit 2 "cruise" missiles. But for some strange reason I can't imagine how this was physically possible or how both "cruise" missiles would not make blasts as big as cruise missiles. Couldn't have been defensive missiles because we were told they were cruise... Right

This war was lost in 2022. two weeks after Russians came in. Everything else is grinding down AFU and Azov Nazis to preserve Russian soldiers. And they did. Ukrainians are dying 8:1 to 10:1 ratio most of the time. 500.000 dead and at least twice that wounded. It could have been done in April 2022. Ukraine was ready to sign peace agreement. Boris Johnson intervened and blood of all those soldiers that died after are on his hands. This will end in total Russian victory. West lost (which I'm a part of), Ukraine lost, and Russia will dictate terms. That's the fact, everything else is propaganda and false narrative that is looking like a Swiss Ementaler cheese and leaking from every hole.

A few thoughts about the ”security guarantees” Britain gave to Ukraine. The British are playing the same dirty tricks they played before the outbreak of WW2. The security guarantees they gave to Poland encouraged the Poles to harden their stance against Germany (who had very legitimate and reasonable proposals) and basically to refuse any kind of agreement. The Germans had no other option but to invade Poland. Needless to say that the British never actually helped Poland militarily. They stood by and watched as Poland was erased. They got what they were looking for: they could portray Germany as ”the aggressor” and declare war on Germany, which was what started WW2. Now the Brits are trying to do the same with Russia using Ukraine instead of Poland in the role of the ”useful idiot/victim”. There are nevertheless huge differences compared with how the situation and the balance of power looked before WW2. Britain was much stronger economically and militarily. They had more planes and more warships than Germany and their colonial empire ensured a steady supply of human and material resources. Now they are a shadow of their former self. That's why I think that this time they will not back up their security guarantees. There will be no declaration of war from the UK. They are only using these guarantees as a symbolic threat, meant to make the Russian fear they will face the same fate as the Germans did in WW2.

  • @dacorum8053

Absolute and total BS! Of course Nazi germany was the aggressor! They wanted their living space in the East, something Hitler alway made clear, and that meant taking over Poland. Nazi germany proved conclusively after taking over the whole of Czechoslovakia in March 1939 that they could not be trusted one inch to keep any agreement. The security guarantees GB and France gave to Poland were intended to deter Germany from invading Poland, not to physically defend Poland if Germany attacked. The real betrayal of Poland came from the Soviets who agreed to partition up Poland with Nazi Germany. Once that agreement had been signed, Poland's fate was sealed.

I agree with you about the betrayal of Ukraine, obviously, but it is not true that Britain deliberately "stood by and watched" Poland being erased. They declared war. As a result both Britain and Germany were ruined so what kind of plot is that? Britain should have had no part in either WW2 or WW1 - As an island, Britain has no territorial or economic stakes in Europe so fighting any war there is inherently stupid. It was not British interests that led to WW2 nor is there a British interest in Ukraine. Britain, like most other countries, was a toy of international finance. Only a few people understood this during WW1 and WW2 but today it is glaringly obvious that the UK is not serving its own interests - not in Ukraine, not in Israel and the Red Sea, not in the English Channel. Nation states are not sovereign in the modern world and nationalist explanations make no sense of events. Look at the Biden corruption in Ukraine leading up to the coup of 2014 and the true causes are obvious. Criminal cartels pull the strings.

RIP brave man Gonzalo Lira, you joined the tens of thousands of Chilean martyrs who suffered from a similar dictatorial/fascist regime.

This is, by far, the saddest video you've ever made. RIP Gonzalo. I loved his videos, I was very happy when he invited you to one of his roundtables. He will be missed. Maybe even Scott Ritter will change his mind now. Very sad news. :( Thank you for sharing it, Dima.

May Gonzalo Lira rest in peace. He was a skilled and charismatic journalist and had a keen eye for observation and deduction. His decision to flee towards a nato nation was in error but he was under alot of scrutiny.A brilliant light extinguished by a corrupt regime. We will remember him.

It's true that you don't understand so let me help: People on the other side don't think anything of Gonzalo Lira and if they do they wish him dead. Ha-ha, I should have just said people never heard of the guy before, if they had very, very, very few would care, and same goes if they hear of him now. That's people, er, humans.

There should be an initiative for a reward for investigative journalism named after him.
