#rocks #unboxing #lapidary
Unboxing, a trim saw review and giveway - this rock video has it all! Kate receives her new Covington powerfeed trim saw. After a tough time getting it out of the package, she cuts her first slab on the new machine, trims it to size and makes a cabochon from the beautiful striped jasper stone. The stone will be given away, along with a copy of Kate's book, "So Many Beautiful Rocks," on Sunday, Nov. 27, 2022 just before her weekly video at 5 Mountain time. KatyDid ROCKS! has been making videos on KZread for more than three years. Her aim is to show people the excitement and wonder of finding rocks and exploring the natural world, while educating through example. Along with rockhounding on this channel, Kate works on improving her lapidary skills and learning as much as she can about her many interests, including opal cutting, silversmithing and wire wrapping.
Keep watching - and you'll want to "keep on doing!"

The banded jasper is beautiful and that cab came out awesome. You did a great job reshaping and saving it! It really is fantastic with those colorful stripes. Your new saw is amazing, I bet you love it! I would really love to see the sunshine and a rockhounding video but since we have so much snow... I also love it when you do the "What's inside?" videos and cut a bunch of those beauties! The cutting and cabbing videos you do are really cool and fun too. Thanks for sharing Kate!✌️🤠🤘

Also like when you make a nice find another the river, then you show it slabbed, love the closeups of the inside!Honestly I enjoy all the videos, and I’m learning to be a better rockhounder!👍😄 Thanks Kate!

Another great video! I love all your videos, especially when y'all are out hounding. I'm from Florida so anytime we get below 70°, I literally can not handle the cold and we never have the snow situation. Since y'all can't get out to rockhound, I would love to see cutting videos. It's so cool to see what's inside. I hope y'all have a wonderful Thanksgiving!

Nice new saw you have there. You should invite Jared (Currently Rockhounding) to search the Montana Agates for Iris Agate. I know he would love to find some (as would most of us). Then show us how to polish it to get the Iris to display.

1st off you did a Bob Ross you had a happy accident. You ended up with a cab or even a necklace both good choice. And for a challenge take and slice 1 of your Spencer opals to see if you can get lucky and hit right spot and hit Sparkly opals area. Good luck thanks Ray 😊

I would like to see a video on how you select which rocks to do what with. You may already have something like this. I brought home my first load of rocks from The Yellowstone this summer and have no clue where to even begin. Also have no equipment and live full time in an RV. Lol. So not the best new hobby for me. But hey, I can’t help bringing beautiful rocks home. Thanks for all of your videos. Love your enthusiasm.

Same thing happened to me unboxing a year ago. Wow, a monster to pull out of the box with all that vacuumed packed foam. Took me forever to separate. Thank you for showing the hood since when I ordered not available. Love your videos especially about opal. Looking forward to a video on lightning ridge.

Hey Kate! I've consider getting a Covington trim saw but I'm worried about the oil spraying all over my garage. How messy was the saw? I'd love to see a stone go from the being found stage, all the way to a finished piece. Also I have hundreds of beautiful tumbles stone in large bowls about my house. Ideas about what to do with all these stones would be very welcome. Thanks! Keep on doing!
