NEW CONTENT // Chevrolet Corvette Z06 GT3.R

Upon the global sunsetting of the GTE spec at the end of the 2023 racing season, Chevrolet's Corvette C8.R would require a successor to be built under GT3 specifications. Enter the Z06 GT3.R, which would also see the brand pivot from a direct factory-backed Corvette Racing program to numerous customer teams-although the same Pratt Miller Motorsports group that led the factory GTE effort remains a key part of the racing efforts.
The Z06 GT3.R shares plenty with the C8.R it replaces, most notably the 5.5-liter LT6-based V8 engine. The car took its first IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship podium in the GTD Pro class at Laguna Seca in spring 2024, with Nicky Catsburg and Tommy Milner teaming up to finish third in class. More wins and podiums are sure to follow as the Z06 GT3.R builds upon the Corvette's extensive history of sports car racing success.

Agreed its a shame to see the GTE class being taken away from us.... nothing sounds better than the porsche RSR. Sad times

@@BlizzardExtremewhat are you talking about? There is an entire series dedicated to GTEs in iRacing, even though these cars don't compete IRL anymore. So not sure wtf you are complaining about.

@@TheDrSwank If it was real life the Corvette would have gotten pole, and then broken down after the crossing the starting line while the Mustang started shedding body panels throughout the race

If you race 8 eight race over 12 of the same series during a season (or 75% of the total if a series doesn’t race every week) you will get few dollars (7$ for a-b license series, 4$ for c-d ones), these credits stacks for a maximum of 10$ each season. There are limitations anyway, eg for make you race count toward this you have to actually be there for most od the race so if you get an incident early on and you are forced to retire the car it won’t count and such. If you search “participation credits” on the official website you will find the complete rules.
Captured the sound really well, looking forward to giving it a go!
Finally my go to GTE is in the GT3 class now! I assume it will be rain ready as well?

@Schwing27 the flat plane v8 doesn't have a throaty tone at all. this sound pretty close to eh real car. Go have a listen.

@@robcampbell6099 I guess I’m not too familiar with the race car variant of it or something. I was just expecting more of a roar sound. My neighbor has a new Z06 with good exhaust system and that thing sounds like a fire breathing dragon.

@@Schwing27 Same motor as the racecar, both are flat plane crank V8s so it's the exhaust that's changing the sound on your neighbors car - as yeah, they sound rather incredible.

Chevrolet have made an ugly car look incredible but somehow made it sound horrible under load, idling it sounds angry! such a confusing car!!!
