Just bought one last Sept. 2022. Hardly used it as the weather got better. Went to pick it up today to move it & the plastic back cover just disintegrated from a very light touch; toothpicks would have been stronger than the cheap plastic they used. The front cover is coated metal but it needs the plastic back cover to hold it in place. Talk about effin cheap!!! I wish I still had the box so I could send it to the company so they can discard it. Don’t their Engineers ever test this stuff out? So many Chinese products have these egregious design flaws from the kitchen chair that collapsed under my 150 lb weight from spot welds in a critical weight bearing section hidden by wrap around wicker. Hit my head on a radiator too. Their stuff always looks good but beware of the hidden, critical flaws. What did my X’s Grandma usta say? “Cheap is expensive.”

It couldn’t comfort him so it had to be smashed! Also could you do an unboxing + destruction of a mainstays desk fan?

yup its cheap and that plastic is just bad. unfortunately our country has the same problems the "magical" china pride which the motor is just loud the fan base looks like its gonna fall apart on its own and the cheap plastic blades that will break without tools.

I think you made that thing feel a bit uncomfortable!

Would probably be more durable if made out of cardboard……..
