Decades after their legendary 1984 All Valley Karate Tournament clash, Johnny Lawrence and Daniel LaRusso find themselves on opposite ends of life's spectrum. A down-on-his-luck Johnny attempts redemption by reopening the infamous Cobra Kai dojo, reigniting his old rivalry with the now-successful Daniel. This, however, reignites old tensions and ignites a new generation of fighters.
Cobra Kai, created by Josh Heald, Jon Hurwitz, and Hayden Schlossberg, is a sequel to the beloved Karate Kid films. Originally a KZread Red/Premium series, it shifted to Netflix for later seasons. The series is produced by Sony Pictures Television and takes place roughly between 2017 and 2019.
The show offers a fresh perspective on the "Miyagi-verse" through Johnny's eyes. It explores the consequences of unresolved conflict and the complexities of good versus bad. While Johnny and Daniel remain the central characters, the series also features a talented young cast including Xolo Maridueña, Tanner Buchanan, Mary Mouser, and Jacob Bertrand. Familiar faces from the Karate Kid films, like Martin Kove and Thomas Ian Griffith, also return.

Like, he’s my 2nd fav after Johnny so I want him to actually try, of course, I just feel like we’re getting mixed signals from his character if this is the case. Does he really feel like he doesn’t have to focus on winning tournaments, or is he absolutely gonna do what he needs to to get better and win?

See that's just jumping into wild assumptions, what Xolo might've meant with Miguel being more competitive in Season 6 is him upping his level of karate to a different level, utilizing both offense and defense to his fullest, but Miguel definitely by this season has enough sense, to know that him competing in the Sekai Takai will be to honor his family, friends and people that have gotten him far to where he is now.

In a world comp, you could have multiple winners, from kata, weapon and sparring, as well as a team fighting event, that way they could all be medal winners

I think the taikai tournament is gonna be a team base event, did anyone watch the movie best of the best? That was a world match karate. I’m sure this will be very similar so no one gets the solo spot light on winning. Not sure how much teams will contain tho.

@@CobraKaiNation Just saw it. Kinda weird why the trailer would have some added shots, just because it’s on the APP? 🤷♂️ In the app-trailer Johnny also says, “Now is not the time to WIMP out”, instead of “PUSS out”, as he says in the trailer online. Weird adjustments 😂

@@user-oe7oe2fl8qDude the original karate kid was only ever the All Valley champ and was the one who stopped Cobra Kai twice. But he was never portrayed to be a world champ. Miguel is the modern day Daniel who went through a different karate path and he’ll probs stop cobra kai but Miyagi Do won’t win the Sekai Taikai it’s too unrealistic.

I think Miguel is gonna lose the first match with Robby in the dojo , Robby is gonna be the captain . Which it kinda makes sense for Robby to have that specific role . But I think Miguel is gonna win the Tournament if that happens, and if Miguel wins this fight in the first part , Robby is winning later on
