I love how like I'm the tng season seven finale he still forgot who Sydney laforge was what a nice call back to that I love the music they used in tye episode with the James Horner and Jerry goldsmith sorta remixed soundtracks that they had. So far picard season 3 has been pretty good

lore wise it's because the ship is saving power It doesn't need to expand so that it can be diverted to the shields, engines and even phasers in an emergency
