New class of deadly drugs raises fears

It’s been widely reported how dangerous the synthetic opioid fentanyl can be. Now, there’s a new set of drugs popping up in Illinois. More deadly than fentanyl, experts warn it could become the next big drug crisis.

I started doing drugs since my teenage, got addicted to heroin. Spent my whole life fighting heroin addiction. Also suffered severe depression and mental disorder. Not until my wife recommended me to psilocybin mushrooms treatment. Psilocybin treatment saved my life honestly. 8 years totally clean. This is something that really need to be use globally to help people with related health challenges.

The war on chronic pain is cruel and unethical! I've taken Norco and morphine for decades under strict supervision by a Dr. I could live and participate in activities with my family. I've never failed a drug screen, never missed an appointment in 20+ yrs, never had an accidental OD but I'm being punished! Missouri, particularly Kansas City doesn't even let nurse PACN or physician assistants have a DEA license to prescribe!! It's absolutely state and government cruelty! I used to be able to plant flowers, go camping, now getting off the toilet is so painful. If not for the love of my family I'd absolutely check out!!!

I have Ehler's Danlos, and severe, sometimes extreme pain. My muscle spasms are powerful enough to MOVE my bones. They caused the curve of my cervical spine to reverse, and caused scoliosis in my lower back. This is not the same as scoliosis deformity in teens, who are still growing. My adult spine was fully hardened when it began to move. According to a top pain specialist in the US, Ehler's Danlos patients have as much pain as cancer patients. I can believe it, because my pain would kill me if I couldnt get pain medication. In fact, due to opioid hysteria, I was one of many pain patients who were wrongly tapered. Then I was cut off cold turkey for 2 months, before being forced on Suboxone. I almost didnt make it. Im so fortunate that Suboxone works for my pain.

They used to use benign cutting agents, like baby formula etc. Then fentanyl came along and is cheap and highly addictive. At first users thought they were just getting heroin, now they want the fentanyl too. People used to OD on heroin but not as easily. Fentanyl is used in cocaine, ecstasy and sometimes on bud. I don’t understand why first time users still try coke or any pills they buy on the street knowing about the fentanyl crisis, yet they do and can OD first time.

I would be just scared that one would come on and I wouldn’t know what to do or how to stop it like you almost get scared to have an anxiety or panic said, cause it’s horrible just knowing I had it even was like a comfort cause I knew it would help me and my doctor recently stopped prescribing it to me too. I don’t know why I really don’t know. I don’t know. I have had no issues my whole life and terrible feeling just not like even though that I had one in case of a panic attack, that would be there to kind of help me call me down and I meditate and I do all the other techniques without medication but I don’t understand why that why the bigteal I don’t know what to do you know just have to try to survive and live through the fears and horrible crap I have to deal with but mindfulness helps and it’s help me a lot but even if I’m not taking it it’s nice to know there if you needed it with severe anxiety, it’s pretty crappy

Heard of suboxone & buprenorphine? That's being sold to everyone the same way oxycontin was. Subs are almost impossible to get off of. Even in 2012 it was hard to get oxycontin prescribed & most addicts admit that they didn't start with prescription opiods. People were deceived into thinking it was a prescription opiod problem. I'm upfront with my kids and started talking to them young on the importance of being aware of it. My son in 5th grade was approached outside of his school with a white powder. Thankfully we practiced what to do years before that and he knew how serious it is. We told his school and it wasn't taken seriously sadly. It was an 8th grader trying to give it away I figured out later.

Wich is also helpful. Not just because most dealers are also addicts. But because if theres a burning fire and thousands are dying you may not be considered a deplorable for realisticly assuming you can only have a handful. Im sure an addict has tested theres drugs before. Your right however many dealers use this. But i belueve that can be a good thing to. Even if only dealers did this. Some are dishounest but just liek everything else some will tell there customers hey this is some heavy shit bro. Go to a safe injection site or dont use alone.

Docs told me to pretend to be a drug addict to get methadone!( .methadone is excellent for chronic pain!) I am 54 with zero addiction history. Drugs are a CHOICE... chronic pain is NOT. Ultimately people are responsible for themselves. But drugs affect everyone differently. If anything this just advocates for unrestricted access to safe narcotics. People have taken substances for millenia. Only our perception of them has changed. The only way to help is to control what a person has access to. You restrict access to safe drugs, people are going to find a way around it. Always have.

Normal people who participate in society can see that everywhere drugs go, the quality of lifes plummets. There is no safe way to have them and wherever they go they do irrepairable damage on society. You are simply trying to tell yourself lies so you can sleep better at night being a user. “Drugs affect everyone differently” is the biggest fucking lie as a former 5 year junkie. Everyone has that idea but as soon as the needle hits their vein all that shit goes out the window. You will get addicted, all the stuff you said you would never do you will do, your principles and morals will be destroyed. Everyone is the same to drugs, nobody is above being addicted. You people spread this dangerous misinformation because either a. You never lived the life or b. You are currently addicted and making excuses. Either way posts like this are taking lives, the whole drug legalization idea is killing people. People see posts like this and go “oh I guess drugs affect everyone differently, so I will be the one who doesn’t get addicted!” You are literally hurting many people stop spreading death and terror that is drugs. They are illegal because they destroy society

I lost a childhood buddy last year to addiction, knew this guy +20 years, and yes he became a shady character due to his addictions to pills and etc, his heart gave out during an overdose all alone in his room in a boarding house full of addicts, he was found the next morning! It disagreeing with you in it's not smart to seek out off the books sources. But reforms do need to be made. The people who really need pain relief are not getting it. All it takes is one asshole doctor to write in your chart that you are displaying drug seeking behavior. From that point on, you'll have trouble getting prescribed a damn aspirin

Why aren't insurance coverage covering for the same exact medicine as much as it used to? Fix these two issues, and it will reduce people buying medicines online, which exposes people to fentanyl lacing.

@@clabsosHe is right there. Sadly we have to suffer the consequences of our actions and those of other people. We have free will and some choose things that lead to pain and suffering and death or cause it on others. This life in our flesh bodies is brief and not as important as the eternal life of our spiritual bodies. You won’t want to learn this or understand it most likely but that’s how it goes sometimes. No matter what.. know that it’s not too late for anyone as long as there is life.. there is hope. If you are breathing.. you are still alive and can repent and change. Christ died and resurrected after 3 days so that we can all be in good standing if we want to. It doesn’t matter if you are an addict, an atheist, or whatever.. He will meet you where you are if you ask Him to. Most of religion is bs.. go to the source. God is so good.. I wish I could show you the proof but you have to experience it yourself. You have to learn and grow over time once you have that relationship with Him. You can see truth all over the place. Intelligent design.. miracles… if you can’t understand that then maybe you are intentionally blind.
