Awesome Video! Nice to see some much needed improvements. The operator interface in the cab looks like a much easier system to operate over the generation older models. Also, I appreciate the ladder to access the grain tank, the older machines were almost impossible to get in over the top, always had to remove the access panel to the right of the cab and crawl through the hole. Great job Claas, I'm looking forward to seeing this machine in action some day with the improved capacity!

Being an old farm equipment mechanic from 1980 to 1990 and working for a Ford, Heston, New Holland, Bombardier, Honda Power and other minor equipment dealership. If you scrape the paint on pre 1985 ford combines it is light green under. I attended a service school in Columbus Indiana and seen the cat track system prototype, I think on a CS116 combine with computer controlled dual hydro stat and a v12 Mercedes diesel. Side doors all bent up, I guess engineers forgot when taking off corn where could a lot of mud involved, go figure! Then the very late 80's into the 90's there was a lot of manufactures being bought out or were in joint ventures. But New Holland and Claas are still my favourites, I also did a lot of work on the NH TR combines.

Claas was marketed through Ford tractor dealers when I was involved with them. I drove a 105 Dominator to Columbus Indiana from Seymour Indiana when Claas moved to Columbus (Walesboro). I ran one for a couple of years they were great then. And they have improved since. Claas can run popcorn when others can't. I don't know why they don't use the baler knotter insignia anymore. Claas invented it.

For example Claas 780. I just want to know are they actually really profitable or you just need goverment support in any country to buy and run machines like this one.

@@daynebrown1611 Yeah, but i was always wondering... the amount of technology in this combine is very high. All of the software and everything. It actually requires proper care from certified tehnician. Lets be honest, farmer can only do so much to mantain this beast. What will happen once the machine gets a bit older, like 10 - 15 years and GPS dies for example ? Most manufacturers wont maintain machines like that for that long. Famous case is John Deere with their starfire system. And the new one cost pure fortune. I mean, is it possible to maintain vehicle like this one even after system like all of the touchscreens etc die after some years ? Can you keep it running without all of that technology ? Like the regular oldschool combine even if that means you will have to run everything manually (no auto-steer etc.) ?

Wiring harnesses will go out before the monitor will, and these are easily replaced (at least on CASE IH they are easily replaced) as well as relatively inexpensive considering the job they do. Without working wiring harnesses this machine appears to not have any manual adjustment, so it would not be able to change crops without a new harness. On every machine these harnesses are a major crutch especially with the additional sensors and cameras that have been added.

Honestly it wouldn't surprise me. The Jaguar Forage harvester has been consistently rated for the most fuel efficiency and most output per rated horsepower. And the difference is incredible big. If that efficiency experience in engineering translates into the Lexion, it might not be 30% more efficient than every combine but I wouldn't be surprised if it has 10-15% more output than a comparable Deere or Case IH.
