AFFILIATE LINK DISCLOSURE: Friends, making a quality Loloho video is kind of like making sausage - only slightly more violent. It's a ridiculous amount of work that typically involves high dollar camera drops, blue-screen-of-death computer crashes, and at least one angry shotgun wielding old man shouting, “Hey! Get the hell outta here!” Once the final video is posted, rewards here on KZread are few and far between (unless you are a masochist who enjoys being verbally abused by anonymous trolls). One saving grace is our affiliate links. JUST CLICKING THESE LINKS HELPS TO SUPPORT OUR LITTLE SHOW. Think of this clicking as like tipping - except that it doesn't cost you anything extra! If you eventually make a purchase via one of our affiliate links, we will receive a few pennies (and Sean typically invests these pennies in duct tape and video gear). Again, it doesn't cost you anything to click these links, and it's a great help to us. As always, safe travels, happy camping, and THANK YOU!

Yeah…These alcohol blend gasolines can be troublesome. I forgot to run the carburetor dry on my generator years ago. The alcohol in the gas turned all the rubber carburetor parts to mush. I had to have the carb rebuilt. The mechanic added a fuel shutoff valve and strongly cautioned me about alcohol blend fuel. I pay extra for alcohol-free gasoline, but it’s worth it.

Sean: As always your videos are informative and fun! I purchased this same Champion generator a few months back when we moved from our small motorhome to our new travel trailer. I included your past reviews of Champion products as part of my assessment of this unit. The features and performance of this generator have been everything I wanted to power the Imagine when we are off grid camping. I second all your positive features and comments. This generator is perfect for our needs. While it does take both of us to move it from the truck bed to the ground, the handles are so well designed it is not a big chore. With regard to your inability to get it under your truck tonneau cover, we have not had that difficulty. We have a different type of tonneau cover and it fits just fine. I think because yours is a sliding type cover it rides just a little lower on the bed than ours does. Again, another great video and we hope you'll be headed out west again this year and that we get another chance to see you at a meet up. Great video and safe travels, LarryAndBarbi!

First I thought oh no he’s back to hocking stuff. But then I saw the stickers! Quite funny but yet informative. There’s a trick I learned about pull/kick starting . First gently pull /kick* about 1/3 -1/2 of the way feeling the compression. You want to stop so the cord is completely in but you are where the compression is the hardest to pull , this may take several soft pulls to find that right spot. Now you can give it a good pull . This insures your getting maximum revolutions. * kick is for motorcycle-/ scooter only ; ) We enjoyed video!

I grounded our Champion 3400 Dual Fuel generator last summer because we were located at 9,200' ASL in a high lightning area which was also grounded to our 25' Weboost pole with lightning arrester. I would shut down the Weboost during thunderstorms, but did not have any lightning issues once I finally got the copper-coated steel rod pounded down through the rocky terrain & soaking some saltwater in the immediate area around it.

You can convert a standard gas generator to Propane with a kit for less than $100, in most cases, and avoid the almost doubling (although convenient) price increase. Although with propane, the generator is around 25% less efficient, than with gas. Maybe with the fuel increases the price per hour will close the gap?

I will be reviewing a really nice setup soon. They are pretty expensive if you want a large capacity unit, but overall I think they are great. I'm really excited about the upcoming review because this unit is the nicest I've ever owned.

I have this same model and loving it. So far I'm still less then 100 hours. I do run it once a month for 15 minutes just to make sure it all good. I only run it on Propane. However mine did not come with all the warning stickers. LOL

IT’S SO QUIET! We own a square-drop, and have Midwestern weather-related power outages, so this will have double duty functionality for home and camping. HOWEVER, after the unboxing, we powered it up, on PROPANO, and stood right next to it in normal conversation mode! We then fired up the 13.5k btu A/C and (😇 Ahhhhhhh…..!) it was still super quiet! Ran it on Eco, too! Your reviews convinced me that dual fuel was an awesome option, and Prime Day sealed the deal! It takes the two of us to lift it into the bed of the truck, but I can move it with the wheels all by myself (60 plus, out of shape, lady person). You two have improved our camping experiences so much; from the wrought iron twig hooks, to the Bad Boy generator! Thanks once again!,🤙

Hello. 4 years ago I took your advice and bought the dual fuel generator. I only run it on propane. It still runs great. Lots of boondocking. It will need a new battery soon. But that is ok.

They make a 5500 W dual fuel inverter sold through BassPro that is about the same size and weight. The thing is a beast and sips fuel. Picked it up for less than the 4500 too about 1yr ago. Champion makes a solid product!

I purchased this Champion 4500w dual fuel in February 22. The only thing I found was a nut from the motor mount came off (located by the oil fill). I put back on and marked it with a marker to keep an eye on it. Other than that I like it. I would also like to see a vlog with pet friendly places and what you do with the dog when you can’t take them with you into certain places. Thanks

Another first on KZread!! Man gives up remote for "EZ Start". I got the 4500 watt gas model with the remote. Propane is kind of like diesel, you can't always get it. I also have a larger 240 volt dual fuel generator for emergency use at home.

Propane is by far the easiest fuel to get, dispensing it requires no electricity, it doesn't get contaminated by storm surge, it's not used by people trying to evacuate, and as pointed out it stores indefinitely so you can easily have a stockpile at home. As far as places to get it, nearly every gas station, grocery store and convenience store has propane exchanges. Blue Rhino has over 50,000 locations and Amerigas has over 54,000. That's more than 3x the number of locations that Subway, McDonalds, Burger King, and Wendy's have combined or just slightly fewer than the 115k gas stations in the US.

@@andrewfidel2220 I guess you live in a different world. I use it at home because I can control the supply. I don't use it on the road because I do not find the supply as reliable as you. Every refill I have seen requires electricity to use the pump. I don't like carrying gasoline, but I burned a house down because a regulator failed on a gas grill. My propane powered generator for my house is about 75 feet from my new house.

@@screddot7074 if you're only looking for refill service then yes it's going to be more limited, but exchange service is basically universally available and will always allow you to get propane.

So, i (Dave) think that Kristy has trouble starting the generator simply because her arms are shorter and she cannot get enough leverage to pull the cord quickly enough. We bought a Champion 2500 for home backup now (and maybe RV later) last year based in part on your reviews. New out of the box it started on first or second pull (propane only - plan to never use gas). So far have not needed it, but happy it is ready if needed. OBTW really love the "edited / added" stickers.

I just purchased the Champion 4650 invertor generator. I did have issues with the initial starting of it but once it started I've had no problems. I doubt I do any boondocking, but when electricity goes off at the house I can move to the camper.

I have this genny and took a lot of care during break-in by doing oil changes after 30 minute and one hour intervals and also getting a magnetic dipstick to catch the metal particles made during break-in . Champion also makes a portable 5500 watt version of this that weighs about 20 lbs more, but it was exclusive for Cabelas
