    Thanks man! 🙌 Appreciate it! And yea since I don't have a useable garage right now i'm stuck using a car cover 😂 Previous owner repainted the front end and has been keeping it garaged so it's like perfect right now. Gonna try to keep it that way if I can lol

    The 2005 and 2006 RSX are basically the same with the same headlights and taillights while the 2002, 2003 and 2004 are all the same with the teardrop headlights and taillights, but they all have the same body. personally, I prefer the 05 and 06 because of their headlights and taillights.

    You should go k24a2 or JDM K24A bottom end with Type S pump before you go boost. More torque, a more useable powerband, and better compression for boost, as well as maintaining a high redline with the K20z1 head.. I made 257whp/209wtq with just minor bolt ons with my k20/k24 frank.. Night and day difference over the k20 bottom end. This and also upgrade your trans and add an M-Factory LSD. Those are the 2 best mods you can do to the car other than engine management which it probably already has.

  • @DrivenDistrict

    @DrivenDistrict

    2 жыл бұрын

    Appreciate the insight! The motor has a decent amount of miles at 143k but at the same time not much for this engine I guess lol I have thought about rebuilding it with the k24 bottom for the wider power band. I gotta do some more research and decide what route I want to go with this car. Might get pricey quick unless I break it up. Was gonna turbo it with the factory engine for now. And yea an LSD was something else that crossed my mind. What transmission upgrades are you thinking as that's one part I have not looked in to. Thanks!

    Highly second this, have a k24a swap myself and it way better than the k20a2 just bc of the torque you get with also making more power. Overall game changer for the rsx.

    😂 Yea I got the car off Mike. I planned to turbo it but then got more project cars and I barely drive this. Actually in the process of selling it unfortunately. My 2nd RSX, and I love them, but I just don't drive it enough and I won't be moving forward with the turbo build anymore.

    I wouldnt run an 18 if I were u... 17x8 is perfect fitment and you can run a meaty tire. With 18's you will be running thin tires with less side wall. If he goes boost he should prob sell those 18's.. I have 17x8.5 Wedssport tc105x's and they are PERFECT. No Poke, no rub, no fender roll, they clear Brembo's with +32 offset with EASE and they just look so tasteful and aggressive.

    @@JonHop1 I agree. I like my wheel/tire set up to have function, and I do wish the previous owner didn't go so big on the wheels. It may look nice, but probably adds a good chunk of weight and like you said makes it a bit less usable. I'm currently fixing some suspension issues on the car and will probably have to raise it a tiny bit as well because i'm rubbing even over the smallest uneven road surfaces.

  • @JonHop1

    @JonHop1

    2 жыл бұрын

    @@DrivenDistrict I would 100% look into a 17x8 or 8.5 with a 32+ offset if you plan to go with a Type R of TL Type S Brembo in the Future. For one, they will fit perfectly as long as you are not lowered a ton, and 2, like i said, you can run a really nice meaty tire if you go boost. I have 2 dc5's.. 1 is on Mugen SS's that has about a 1 inch drop and the other is on custom Bilstein B16's from the ep3 with Damptronic so I can electronically control my ride height and dampening. Even when I am kinda low on the Bilstein's with about a 1 inch gap, they still do not rub at all due to the stiffer springs of a coilover. If I had gone with an 18 diameter or a 9+ wide, you have to deal with not just fender rub, but also hitting your suspension components and your wheel well when you turn.. 17x8 is the perfect size for our cars. Ive tested many sizes over the years. 8.5 is okay too, you will have the slightest poke but you can always adjust camber slightly.

    @@JonHop1 I already got a set of 17x8 cr kais with thickboy ad08r rubbers for the track. But i want another set of 18x8 or 18x9 for the street. Looking at a pair of ze40’s since they look so amazing on the fd2-r.

  • @DrivenDistrict

    Stock vs Stock the 1/4 mile and 0-60mph are like dead even according to some online sites. Right now they're both full bolt ons and tuned, and could possibly still be very very close, idk lol Next week the 124 will be gettin the 1446+ turbo so it will be quicker...but in the future I plan to turbo the RSX, and then it won't even be close because those cars can put down 400+whp with a turbo, stock engine.
