What do you do with this bag when it rains? Can you seal the top completely, is it waterproof and does it have a rain cover like the large electric bag? Also, what does it weigh? The downside of Brompton's electric bags are that I think you have to subtract the battery and bag weight from your 10 kg maximum, which isn't good if you want to fetch a full bag of shopping. I'm also not too clear on how you'e supposed to easily check the weight before setting off from the shop with a full load. Pleased there's another option now available, though. Does it cause extra wind resistance like they say the large bag does?

Forget the bag , why don't you make a video on that snazzy tartan outfit you're wearing. It looks awesome. The bags are ok too.

@@brilliantbikes Not at all, I love the channel. It's fun to see new electric bags. My biggest complaint about mine is the crappy city bag. I'd like if they'd done a Barbour version for electric bikes, a bit more style wouldn't have gone amiss. Do you know if there are any better 3rd party options for the front of a leccy brompton?

Don’t need electric yet but my regular basket bag works great when I have my Brompton in shopping cart mode. 🛒 Love the colorful kit!

Santa did deliver my Electric basket bag and I'm very pleased with it. When I swapped the battery over from the standard battery bag that comes with the bike, I had a play around and noticed that you could ( in theory ) fit a battery either side of the central battery pack receptacle and swap them in as each battery got depleted. That would be ( an expensive ) way of increasing the range of the bike. 🤔

Many thanks for the question, it is from Desigual, I got the top then saw the skirt and thought why not!

Fail to understand, why Brompton did not include a top zip-up cover. The bag is useless without it in UK weather. I do not want to bother with an additional cover. Valeria's bags are so much better. I have the big one. It is good.

At last a bag to give Valeria’s some competition!

Valeria bags are lame and he is dumb (when you tell him that he should put 2 way zipper on his bag = he tells it is useless, blocks you and afterrwards makes a bag with a 2 ways zipper...).

I'll never be a competition for a company like Brompton, only on their BWC races, OMG, then I'm a good competitor for sure! 🙂Brompton is a huge company and I work doing everything myself. Anyway, I'm not in competition with anyone but myself. My goal is to create/invent/design things to give solutions to bike/Brompton users and to improve myself. ;-)

@@petergilbert72 Her bags are very well designed and have a lot of nice practical features that Brompton-brand bags don't have. Her baskets for the Elecric for example have side pockets for bottles and a flap for the rain that can be easily pushed aside when not needed. And the bags in general come in different sizes. I'm saving up to get one actually. It's good that there's space for everyone in this market and not just for one company :)

More bags, hmmmmmm I think for now the larger City Bag is good enough for me, but..........

Does the bag affect the steering? I find the Brompton quite 'skippy' anyway even with just the battery but with 22 litres of cargo plus the battery I'd be quite scared to do any drastic turns. Also, do you know how waterproof it is? Thanks.

I’ve also been impressed how well they handle with a bag on the front, I would say it is water resistant, so you need a large Brompton waterproof cover if you plan to go out in the rain. Thanks for watching!

Do Brompton suggest a maximum weight . If I go shopping & buy a lot of tinned food etc it can get quite weighty & i would be worrid about how it affects the electric connections etc.

Kinda disappointed. I wish they could make a closed bag. I don’t need one that catches rain water. Should have put out this bag back in summer.

A stretch waterproof cover from one of the other Brompton bags solves that problem, or even a cheap stretch rucksack cover from Decathlon or similar. It also solves the problem of items bouncing out of the bag.

The large Brompton waterproof cover should work fine and mean that it’s not turning onto water collection device.

Now I've bought it (from BB of course❤) and actually I love it. The colour is quite nice in the flesh and the closing mechanism is a lot more usable than I expected. I don't pedal in the rain anyway so all good.

Did you ride through the paint section of B+Q by any chance knocking tins of paint off the shelves........... only kidding ;o))))))

Could you make a video or weigh in on what someone's first Brompton purchase should be between an electric Brompton or a regular c line. My main curiosity is if buying the electric is sort of like a 2 for 1. Where I can use it without the battery and still function as a Brompton?

Agree - but you R riding on a heavy bike - that potentially slow down speed. I use the assist for hilly , a great plus. I am wishing to buy the P line to add to ML crisis.

I do just this. I often use my Electric Brompton in manual mode. The ride is less "twitchy" than my "analogue" Bromptons due to the extra weight of the motor in the front wheel ( and the battery when fitted. It is noticeably heavier but still luggable for short distances even for a guy in his 70's

So it has less free space as the battery takes space ?

It has a capacity of 22 L compared to the manual basket bag version at 23 L so pretty similar.

i recently emailed brompton inquiring about availability timeline outside uk and they sent me a 20 sentence reply that said absolutely 0 about when it might be available outside the uk.

As an owner of a still weight-dwindling SuperlightH6LXBrompton (With several added, extra titaninium and carbon parts), with mudguards and from 2019, I of course couldn't imagine to buy a new electric Brompton version by now. I also have a, "much less" folding and - heavy, Makita Folding bike, with two 18 volt batteries, if in need of assisted transport for a shorter distance, as the Makita batteries rather fast runs out of steam! Finn. Denmark
