Great video thanks for posting. I would prefer the crash bung to be pointed in the other direction so the "arrowhead" end would face forward and thus reduce chance of it catching anything when sliding

ive tested the gb racing on my mt09 after a high side the bike slid down the road a fair few metres and it saved the engine case very well.

The “Stock exhaust sound” made me laugh so hard I had to stop the video so I didn’t miss anything 😆👍!

I clean and oil my motorsport chain normally as like you I like it to look nice. I also put on some R&G crash protection bungs and the radiator guards but I did not like covering up all that nice rose gold and the black guards make the bike look very black and white with them on. I might consider fitting them if I can get them painted / powder coated with the same rose gold colour of the original engine casings but also I was afraid of the warranty implications of fitting them.

Thank you for posting. Great video. I am in the process of making some minor mods to my 2021 S1000RR as well. I see a new header for your bike, if it is allowed in the UK. Saves you about 10kg. Not sure if you are aware, but the screws used by BMW in the clutch cover, engine cover, etc... are one time use only (at least in the USA). They are made of aluminum. Similar to the screws used in the calipers of the Honda Fireblade. They too are one time use only and cost over 100usd to replace. Yikes. Looking forward to your future videos. Let us know when you give in to temptation and buy the BMW RR. :)

Yes couple of people pointed out the alloy bolts I wasn't aware but makes sense after feeling how light they are! 👍

I’m thinking it must take longer (much) editing and putting in the sound bites from Mavis & Jarvis - than the actual mods 🤣. But we love the vids keep ‘em coming - this bike yeah THIS BIKE ❤️

Hi Chops, Thanks for this video. Believe it or not…but your fine self and TMF helped in making my decision to purchase the 2021 BMW S1000RR. Therefore I’m extremely interested in your video series on this wonderful motorcycle. As a result of watching your video I’ve purchased the protection set from the GB racing Australian distributor. Unfortunately I couldn’t find a listing on either the UK or Australian sites for the street frame sliders to suit the 2021 model. I was hoping that you may have an idea of the part number??? and I’ll check through the websites once more. Love the channel…fantastic. Cheers from Australia 🇦🇺. PS…Mavis is hilarious, I love her sense of humour 🤣.

Those GB covers do work, ask me how I know Dropped my Blade in 2016 going into a roundabout (diesel) 3 broken ribs and right-side damage (£1500) but the GB cover protected the right clutch housing! Keep safe LCR!

Having watched your 1st vid on this bike I went and test rode a standard sport version. Mr Chops you’ve cost me lot of money as now have shiny new Hockenheim silver one sat in the garage. 😀. Also have the bling M Endurance chain. Great time to buy a new bike as got fantastic trade in price on my V4 Tuono

Even for a level 1 tootle it looks like you got to use a fair bit of tyre for a fair amount of time. Looking forward to that vid. Need some fly by sound clips of the new end can.

They’re taking deposits for a late fall arrival. Unfortunately the are basically a neutered version on this UK bike. Huge flat spot in the rpm’s between 4K-9K… So it’s between this and the new Tuono. Both delayed here in North America. Anyway look forward to the next build series, and anything featuring this beautiful S 1000 double rrrrrrrrr!!!! BTW. New bling looks safe, and sexy!

Hi any idea why in GB racing website it says it needs a modification to the fairings for the street bullets

I can't find this "Street" frame slider set on the GBRacing website, only the "Race" sliders that require you to cut the fairings.

How did the chain hold up mate? Was it as good as they reckon. Cheers

How do you like the engine behaviour, any problems especially in cold starts? Rough running at low rpm?

Nope runs perfect, does rev up on idle but settles quickly

It's a bit of a cheek to call it a baffle 😒 I like these sort of films it gives other 1000rr owers a look at what they can buy themselves. Even if your not in to track days. It's always good to fit these type of protection to any bike. It just might save a lot of heart ache some day. Plus them some times improve the look of your bike as well.

Is there going to be any track video ?

I've bought one and its not easy to ride especially when its windy. it feels out of balance. I need to do the settings and perhaps change the metzelers tyres. Any help would be welcome as BMW don't do settings for setup. I'm based in N.ireland. I'm using it in road mode now, ive tried the power race mode settings for front forks, rear damper and rebound all set at 6, i adjusted it to 7 for f forks and rear shock not rebound.

Have you tried to bypass the butterfly valve?

About to put the GB Racing covers on mine, so very timely video thanks. You did not mention the tank grips. Can you say who the manufacturer is?

@@LambChopRides I've used Stomp in the past, but the sharp bubbles tended to chew my leathers to shreds. I've had variable experiences with the adhesive on Eazi-Grip, but might give their slightly less aggressive 'Pro' version another go.

Yes bike has to be returned stock to bmw, well that's if I don't but it... 😁

So it is a loaner and you are doing mods to it? I assume it is part of the project and it is sponsored? Regardless, I would have to hate to give it back, so I probably end up buying it LOL.

Great video just as well you had the 690 finished before you got the BMW,, when if ever is the ducati getting done,, or has womble got it,, better than that get it up and raffle it off pound a ticket,, you should get a tidy profit,,, from Northern Ireland greatly appreciated ☘️☘️☘️☘️☘️☘️☘️☘️

One should always wear protection ;-) That chain will last less than 12K, I'm afraid it isn't what BMW claim.
