They won’t hear you coming if you have a loud exhaust. That’s a huge misconception of bikers. They’ll hear you pass, but that’s about it. Never ride as if it’s the cars responsibility to hear or see you. Neither one will ever be true.

BT Moto has a GREAT video on breaking them in.....running it in 6th and allowing engine breaking...with the M it has 1 less ring (its a 2 ring piston vice 3) its especially important to seat them properly. I was religious about breaking my M1000RR in via his method. BMW actually changed their 1st service requirement where you can unlock it anywhere between 350 - 620... I usually break mine in the same way you do, but with the limiter in place and then on top of that, the throttle restriction that BMW has in place even after, its hard to break in the usual way I have in the past. I am worried about the M motor as the reason that Motomillions blew up had ZERO to do with the tune or breakin (you can see Zac in one of 650s videos where the connecting rod was loose)....same with Cali Moto...his was a bearing failure I believe. The other thing is I am seeing TONS of guys saying thier warranty is being denied due to tune being on the bike....they are simply being denied because they have had multiple tunes (BMWBRO is a channel I have watched for a while). I am at 480 miles on mine John...😛...truly hoping too knock it out 4th of July weekend. I am so over the top in love with mine after all these years on the Harleys.....UNBELIEVABLE how technology advanced they are compared to HD. Its INSANE how quick they are even limited. You corrupted me into making a quick YT video and posting it!! LOLZ

The m doesn’t have 3 piston rings… so the break in is important

Just a little hack that my friends and I did on new tires.... we took a piece of fine grit sandpaper and lightly scrubbed the tire, by hand, all over to help scuff them. Love the content!! Can't wait to hear the exhaust

Great Bike, and Video. I did the same thing during the break in process. I have the same 2024 S1k in Red with a lot of bells and whistles that I just picked up in April. It rides like a 600 until you get it unlocked and get past the 8000-rpm limit. Then need a tune as there is no power until you get past that point. I just got the Arrow Full titanium and got the BT tune at 1,100 miles on the bike now. mods are never ending! ha

SLR Tune here, on a '23. Give it some thought. Call the SLR people directly. Ask lots of questions. You'll be surprised to hear how things differ, are similar, affect warranty, your wallet, etc. Full disclosure: I didn't choose SLR, it came with the bike.

After you get it tuned, can you take it to your buddy's place and dyno it? Maybe even look into using Woolich software to tune it on his dyno? That would be interesting to see, it's not very common on KZread to see the Woolich software used. A good walk-through, like you have done in the past on the Harleys, would be well received by the community I believe. P.S. In the manual, it states to stay below 7,000rpm for the first 186 miles (page 133). They want back road miles not highway (avoid riding long periods at a constant speed) miles also, don't hate me lol
