I have this beamer for 1 month now and i really love it. Great for movies (very beautiful colors = in my opinion) great for gaming Absolutely NO input lag. Contrast also very good, nice black pictures. A little bit (to much) noise level in normal and dynamic mode. I don't regret it at all.

Need more details on dynamic tone mapping and how movies are handled. How does dolby vision and hdr movies play out. Please compare the color accuracy against ht4550i and x3100i as anyone looking for this is comparing aginist those two models (long throws)

Very helpful review. Can you mention what the vertical offset is? I am looking to figure out what the maximum vertical offset I can achieve with the fixed offset plus the lens shift, for a 100" screen.

I have to replace my old Benq HT3050, but I need the exact same throw to install it in the same mount. I use it in mild light situations, would you recommend this projector or another with a budget under 2000? Thank you very much!

This might be a good option to replace my classic HT2050. The TK710 or the HT2060 are what I need to decide on now.

How does this compare to the X500i? Is the loss in color/contrast worth no RBE + more brightness? I'm also considering the TH690ST to save on costs since people rave about the image quality of that projector. I *might* consider the TK860i due to it being on sale.(but would have to reconfigure my room a bit). Thoughts on any of this?

I currently just purchased a tk860i and then this just came out. I’m within my return window and I am slightly feeling buyers remorse here. I have a Living Room set up and deal with a fair amount of ambient light all around. Usually we watch our main shows or movies at night. Just casual viewing during the day. If you were me, would you return the 860 and purchase this instead?

I don’t think you can go wrong with either one. The 860i is great because it has the media stick and a ton of premium features. I’d say if you are going to use it a lot for a long time get the 710, but if you will only use it for 1 movie every couple weeks then stick with the 860i

Spec sheet lists 3D, but have seen those be wrong before. Any chance you can help verify? I'm still using a quite old now W1070 for gaming/movies/3d movies. I'm always iffy about pixel shifting but laser is tempting to get rid of rainbow effect but new projectors keep failing to feel like a big enough upgrade.

Hello, I was hesitating between the x3100i and the W4000i/HT4550i then this one arrives. If compared to those 2 do you believe the TK710 has better blacks? Overall between a X3100i and this one which one has the best image quality according to you? Thanks.

  • @thedaingeon

I do think the laser tends to provide better black levels than the X3000, but the HT4550i would be my pick of the 3 if I had to choose.

@@thedaingeon Super interesting thanks. OK so I remove the X3100i from my list, it’s either the TK710 or the HT4550i (but this one is much more expensive). Do you the blacks are better on the HT4550i? For the rest I deduct that the HT4550is is sharper / has better colours.

  • @paulvail7926

This is very unlikely to have the native contrast that the HT2060 delivers. The HT3560 is kind of the lamp-based version of the 2060, and the 4550i is truly their 4K version of the 2060. The 2060 is NOT a entry level model, it's just their 1080p model. It's actually a very good projector with really good features. The price is lower overall because of the resolution, but in reality, it's one of the more expensive 1080p models on the market these days.

Don't mean to alarm you, but there is a dead pixel on that screen. I thought it was my projector, but I switched to a television, and it was still there. Its on the close-up of the UI interface. I had to return my TK700STI for repair last year because of this. I had multiple dead pixels. Hopefully, this is not the case with a brand new projector!

Depends on what you need. X3100i is the latest cube and it also has lens shift but it’s LED not laser. I think the laser is the big difference maker because it seems to have eliminated any rainbow effect. If you need good sound and the added media stick then maybe the X3100 is the better option for you

The 4550i has a better picture, Media stick and features like horizontal and vertical lens shift. However the LED light source causes a bit more rainbow effect than expected. In conclusion I would recommend the HT4550i for Movies, casual 60hz gaming and TV, but the TK710 I’d recommend specifically for competitive 120hz Gaming and watching sports and basic TV. TK710 laser is great but just doesn’t have great color reproduction…

Saying 600,000:1 contrast is the most "I just read this from their spec. sheet" statement you can possibly rattle off. A good real world contrast ratio is anything above about 1,500:1, and if this model is capable of more than that, it would be a shock. Would be great for a 1% contrast ratio measurement instead of just reading from a spec sheet. Good to see a basic walkthrough of the menus and such, but without a single meter, this isn't really a review, but just showing off in video what is already on the spec sheet.
