Are you an on-ear or over-ear type of headphone person?

Over the ear, Had the Beats Solo 2 wired headphones some yrs back and I gotta say my ears feel much butter w an over the ear fit. I know folks will clown me but I use Raycon everday headphones, they are over the ear style. I actually bought them in a pinch before vacation in 2022 when my Solo 2s started showing more signs of wear and tear on the cushions.

0:23 the Beats Solo2 wireless did not have Apple W1 chip inside those headphones came out before Apple even announced the W1 chip the first pair of beats to use the W1 chip the Solo3 and the second beats product to use the W1 chip what’s the studio3 headphones. I know that because I am a beat by Dr. Dre collector. So I guess you kinda got a fact wrong. Because the Apple W1 chip what is released alongside the iPhone 7 with the first GEN AirPods and the beats Solo3 headphones all released in the same year 2016

On-ears shouldn’t be a thing. On-ears aren’t comfortable or save too much space in your backpack compared to over-ears. It is all compromise and no benefits between over-ears and iems/true wireless.

I have wh 1000 xm5s. I don't think i will be upgrading any time soon but i love beats. They are phenomenal too.

my head is very sensitive to pressure and the heat of wearing over ear headphones builds up so I feel like the on ears are perfect

I picked up the Beats Studio Pro during a sale. Very happy with those. I even prefer them over the Airpods Max, which may be a tiny bit of a hot take.

How is it compared to the Beats Solo Pro?

I have both the studio pro and the solo 4 and in the same colors you have them to, the Studio I use them at home and at work since they have ANC . The Solo’s they are my pick up and go headphones

So is now the time to buy the Beats Solo 3? Less expensive & with the W1 chip for improved integration with the Apple Ecosystem …

Interesting new model of Beats Solo 4 I wonder if they are good enough to use with Apple Box TV? I was considering the Sennheiser Acentum to use in Apple Box TV the price is practically the same.

Hmmm hoping for a refreshed Beats Solo Pro... But looks like the cans from 5 years back is still superior with the build and active noise cancellation.

Still got Beats Studio Pro so I'm sticking with those.

Tempting and if I wasn't married I'd probably upgrade from the Solo 3 tomorrow. So I will see if they make my Christmas list!

You sold me on the Beats Studio Pro last year, and I still use them every day. I don't need the Solo because I have dipped my toes into the wired market. Great video! I know these are going to sell extremely well! Oh and P.S. I absolutely love my Beats Studio Pro!

I’ve been an AirPods Max user for a couple years and love them, but when I found the Beats Studio Pro on sale for less than $200, I jumped on it, liked them way more than I expected… and then I sold them. Then a funny thing happened… I missed them! So, of course, I bought them again (again under $200). I love the case. I love that they don’t look pretentious. They have great sound and good ANC. I still use my APM around the house, but my BSP travel with me!

The studio pros go on sale regularly and can be had at the same price. Hold on to your old headphones and buy these on Black Friday.

I was gonna say that too (I’m assuming he intentionally did it cause they’re discontinued) nonetheless still very misleading with the “8 yearsss”

These say they support audio sharing and the Beats Studio Pro didn’t support that. I think they said at the time it was because of the Beats silicon, since these also have beats silicon and support the audio sharing has beats said whether they will be bringing that to the Studio Pros?

I got the Studio Pros and the Solo 3s and one big thing for me is the creakiness. The Solos are super quiet while the Studios feel pretty cheap in that regard. So every activity that involves movement is a No-Go with the Studios. Also while ANC is a great thing without a doubt, I feel like the Solos don’t make that much of a difference when it comes to blocking noises as they sit much tighter on your ears.

I did get the beat studio pro recently, but I returned them simply because I do not think they were worth the money and also I like to be able to alter EQ settings which it didn't really allow. I returned them in the end for the Sony XM5. Although Beats studio pro cannot be beaten on style in my opinion and battery life was great also but I just thought price point was a tad high.

Solo 4 or air pods pro?

So in a nutshell the discontinued Solo Pro from 2019 are still the best out of the Solo range since they have Active Noise Cancellation options.

I just got the Beats Studio pro in white on sale at Best Buy for 200 so if you can get the studios I would go that route better. They are more comfortable, have noise canceling and transparency mode so it’s a no brainer to me, but I’m really loving that blue color on the solos I wish they had that color on the studios.

The reason there was such a time gap between the 3 and 4 is because you skipped the solo pro. That came after 3 4 years ago and for my $ the best well rounded headphones beats ever released. So good I bought it twice. (Might get another)

I have Solo 3, and they are still pretty good; but I don't think Apple, Sony, or Bose can match the quality, price, and performance of my new Skullcandy Crusher Evo. The music literally gets into my bones.

How’s the sound compared to the solo 3

I can use my marshall major IV nine hours without any ear pain 😏 also love the fact that battery life on those are 80 hours 🤤 built quality are amazing without a case almost 2 years and not any problems i had beats solo 3… trash like sound quality is amazing but built quality… disaster after 3 months ear cushion was coming off i changed it 3 times and all of those 3 pairs had the same issue… 2 nd started coming off after 6 months and 3rd one started coming off after 4 month so on the 4th time i’ve just requested money refund dont go for it you will be thankfull because you will save some time and nerves

What I don’t like about the Beats proprietary chip is that you can’t connect and listen to more than one Bluetooth accessory like AirPods can.

At that price and no ANC for a BT headphone in 2024... No. Not worth it. Better the Sony ULT wear at that price.

I hate to be that guy, but some corrections: Solo 2 wireless came out in 2014 Solo 3 wireless (W1 Chip) came out in 2016. The solo 2's did not have a W1 chip.

I got the pros on Amazon for $175 two weeks ago, while the solos are selling for $199.

I prefer getting the Sony ULT headphones.

These are definitely trying to rival the Sony headphones lineup. That’s likely why Apple is really pushing cross compatibility and easy pairing with Android also. This is super competitive. I like it.

Are you currently using iPhone 13 mini as your main device ?

Did you forget about Solo Pros?

I have had solo 3 since christmas 2020 and i’d say i listen to them atleast 2 hours a day every day for the past 3 1/2 years. Ive got gripes with them - build quality feels cheap, they’re uncomfortable to wear for long periods, the mic is terrible and i think theres not much higher end sound

Whyy aren't you comparing solo 4 with solo pro !?

I feel The comparison is unfair it should Be between solo pro and studio pro

if they go on sale like $120/140 USD then it might be worth it for people who simply enjoy beats for what they are

On-ear headphones usually don't. Over-ear or on-ear ones do.

Ok, so basically there main purpose is for those who want them for show and want to appear to be cool and use them as wearables, and the fact they produce sound is secondary, like a feature...

Just Get Soundcore Q45! Much better, than both for the money!!

I guess beats don't update their design anymore.

No ANC, no dynamic switching =DOA
