@@oneofthoseguys2019 not really. ar bolts were designed around 7.62x51mm, then scaled down. they are actually quite overbuilt. im not a betting man but id bet the farm that any ar bolt that fails probably wouldve lit up on MPI like a christmas tree or was loaded with some seriously hot ammo.

The difference in BCM and Aero products that no know really talks about is quality control. BCM uses Microbest BCGs and Individual inspects every BCG using Multi Particle Inspection and High Pressure Testing. Whereas Aero only does batch Multi Particle Inspection on their bolts and never does High Pressure Testing. The result of this is tighter gas port specs and better gassing on rifles made from BCM while also maintaining better reliability. A tangible example of this is in how there is a 3% chance of a 9310 bolt shattering within the first 1000 rounds without HPT, which means that Aero’s primary bolt material comes with a risk. So yes while there is a difference in cost there are also reasonable differences between the products to justify that cost.

You’ll Love the BCMs. I just ran a 14.5 with mid-length gas in a class recently and it performed flawless. I’ve been running them for many many years. I’m all BCM, LMT and LaRue now.

BCM is my favorite for complete uppers and I have a couple. I’ve had Aero in the past and never had any major issues but slowly transitioned over to BCM. I build most of my lowers using Aero stripped lower, BCM parts kit, radian ambi safety, and geissele triggers and buffer kit.

I have a BCM upper with an Aero lower. Never had an issue with it. It's not sub-MOA, since it's a SOCOM barrel, but it's plenty accurate for the distances I shoot. Maybe someday I'll get one of their Ionbond barrels for mine, but for now, I always recommend BCM for people who want to step into something better than ATI or Diamondback without breaking the bank entirely.

I agree. And I think they are still inexpensive. For what ur getting. I purchased the upper and lower separate for a total of $1,183. That includes tax/shipping. I get that u can buy another AR like PSA for half that but a duty level rifle for under $1,200 is solid.

As a guy who’s owned both BCM and Areo rifles, I’ve had zero issue with either. If I had to pick one as my go/life depended on it Rifle of course I’d choose the BCM based on reputation however my areos shot just as well. Sh!t breaks no matter who makes it esp firing pins. Is what it is. Enjoy the BCM.

Recently bought my first BCM, it's a 12.5 and after putting about 300 rounds through it I'm impressed. Gassing is on point (using a flow trough can 4 o'clock ejection), very soft shooting and after finding a load it likes it shoots consistently sub MOA using a red dot + 3xmag which is way better than I expected. M193 clones run around 2 MOA for me, which I'm totally happy with. Going to put a few thousand rounds through it before I form a final opinion, but until now it looks promising.

BCM has been solid Duty GRADE Carbine for 15 years or more . I've been running BCM since 2011 . You'll for sure get more than 10k rounds . BCM furniture is by far my favorite. Every AR I own has minimum of 2 BCM parts . I'd for sure swap out your Aero Barrels for Ballistic Advantage Hanson Barrels . Whether you get the 556n Hanson or 223W Hanson Premium Black Series. Aero Precision and Ballistic Advantage are brother / sister companies. More than likely that Aero Barrel was BA Modern Series Barrel . Hanson 556n are Performance Sereis and Hanson 223W Premium Black Series are obviously Premium Series Barrels . I use BA 223W Hanson Premium Black Series Barrel on my 2Gun Rig . Super accurate and durable barrels for sure . I have quite a fee rounds through my BA Barrels and for the money they cant be beat . BCM BFH / HF Barrels are made by FN . I have 0 clue who makes BCM Standard barrels but they are still super solid. BCM ELW BFH / HF is my go too for Lightweight Barrel that I have 0 plans of running suppressed. BCM BCG / Bolt are by far one of the best in the industry . Colt , BCM and LMT are my go too for BCG / Bolts . The gold standard for years was BCM RECCE 11 or RECCE 14 Upper paired with Aero Lower . You'll love that BCM for sure . I would also for sure consider BA 556N Hanson Profile Barrel as your nee Barrels for your Aero Uppers. BCM IMO is the Colt M4 of the civilian market . Both are tried and true with long track record of good results. It's a thrills or frills Carbine that you can trust in harms way .

It's an AR. Kinda hard to screw up. Armalite, DPMS, Bushmaster, LWRC, DD, BCM, Stag and a few other 'off' brands - had all these. All the same - Pull the trigger - Bang. Nicest by far was the LWRC in the pretty category. But the $1600 LWRC didn't put holes in the paper any better than the $400 DPMS. It is an industry like any other. Someone is going to market their product to those that believe paying an extra $1000 will make them better or at least be part of the 'in' crowd - be a true operator.

BCM's are good to go, but the 11.5 and 14.5 are over gassed. My guess is this was done to shut up the crybabies that shoot Wolf and other lower pressure ammos. There is nothing wrong with shooting it, but dont blame the gun when its an ammo issue. BMC barrels use to be gassed for shooting Nato spec ammo and when people would shoot lower pressure stuff, they complained about the reliability. I still have a few BCM 14.5 mid-length barrels form 2010 and thy are good to go. I personal stopped using their barrels because of this issue. Other than that, their QC and quality are still good. Also, nothing beats free99. LOL. That being said, they are machines, and all machines fail. On a side note, if you want a barrel that will hold up for 40ish thousand round, many of them suppressed, go with Hodge Defense. They are also gassed beautifully and accurate with several different bullet weights. Thank you for your content. I enjoy your channel.
