That was a good game. The move to get the zapp was the game winning play. Opponent got too greedy buffing up his minions that up to the end, he's got 3 buffers on the board.

Being able to buy a next tier minion without needing to cycle the tavern turns out to look to be surprisingly useful, that 1 gold counts. Especially in earlier turns.

I understand that it's hard to think under pressure, but at the last buy, should've sold M.Magician for Kaboom Bot so you'll have an extra chance to snipe a divine shield or even a minion in between.

@@sollertia_ Also, he can use the weak minion as cleave fodder, and Kaboom Bot still provides a benefit when it dies, whereas M. Magician just gets taken to bone town.

The animations are so cute I love them!

Toast, you could work on your order some. When you have a light fang in play and you're only playing battle cry buffs, it's important to end on a non-tribal minion, so that you're not stealing a buff that will be thrown away on the next turn. That means making all or at least most of your buys before playing the minions.

For me, Elise is weak because her discover card is just a reroll but narrowed down to 3 cards in a nutshell. Plus you can only do it 6 times... Maybe a way to balance it is to at least make the discover card cost one coin instead of 3

Yeah its not great but on the upside all the 3 card discovered are from the highest tavern tier possible. Your not gonna get tavern 1 or 2 crap like you'd in a normal roll (Plus a reroll + buy would be 4 coins, the discover is 1 coin cheaper)

That's the point of Hydra and For Reaper. You use them to easily knock out multiple divine shields at the same time without risking multiple units.

i tgink elise is pretty good, cus it knocks out some of the rjg by garaunteeing you a unit from the tavern level you just bought

Yeah the issue was you kept your hydra on the left and they had their taunt/poison/divine shield waiting for it on their far side. So all you killed was a trash minion and lost your hydra. You ran into that like 3 times in a row.

I have played quite a bit and haven't gotten this hero yet

I'd say good. Makes fishing for a cave hydra/junkbot/sensei/general objectively easier without you blowing all your gold on rerolls

I mean, the Elise hero power is literally why Toast won that game. The amount of work that Zapp did to break those stalemates cannot be overstated.

Sayorable much better than that, it only gives minions from that tavern tier, so at tier 5/6 there aren’t many minions anyway, so the chances to get something you really want is high

No. Cause it would be absolutly op.

Before watching the video, I would say that it might be bad based on it being very limited. You only get 5 recruitment maps over the course of the game... unless they're really powerful, then they're not going to be very good based on limited availability. Edit: after watching the video, I'd have to say that even considering the RNG element inherent in the discover mechanic, this is still a pretty decent hero power. Not as immediate as Brann's, and not quite as slow and clunky as Sindragosa's.

Normally the turn they tier up someone has to spend an extra gold for the chance of getting ~1 top tier choice offered. Elise gets an auto-3 top tier choices offered with no extra gold spend. Seems worth to me.

@@samuelancer6649 Right, which is exactly what a minion already costs to buy, except you are buying from a bucket of 3 highest tier minions while everyone else is spending an extra gold (4 total) to possibly have 1 highest tier minion offered.

@@samuelancer6649 Maybe I didnt explain well enough. Say I want to tier up and buy a unit for the turn. Normally I'd spend X gold to tier up, then 1 gold to refresh my choices, then I'd be offered a set of minions that may contain 1 (or likely none) of my highest tier choices. I'd then purchase one for 3 gold. If I'm elise however, I spend X gold to tier up, then Im immediately offered 3 guaranteed highest tier minions that I purchase one of for 3 gold. So not only did I save 1 gold, but I got to pick from a pool of guaranteed high tier minions.

Why no poison on the Hydra??

Wow... I thought the map was a free minion, but if you spend 3 mana anyways, then that's a trash hero power. It's similar to bartendotron, since his would save you a mana and let you reroll to get current tier picks... but his also lets you tier up early if desired and gives more options. Sure, it's watered down with lower tier minions, but that's not always bad... you could get a combo and get a minion higher tier.

Do you mean 3 heroes to be pickable at the start? If so, one has to buy 20 card packs of the upcoming Hearthstone expansion to get that option. And 30 packs in total to get visual emotes for Battlegrounds.

Ironically (annoyingly?) enough with the new balance patch all I've seen so far is mass Amalgam. Usually battlecry/murloc focused amalgam, but still amalgam. Murloc buffs = Amalgam buffs after all, and now that mech isn't consistent well...

@@Chr0nic1er hmm, yeah. I've seen a few, they often make it to top 4, Though im not that high rated. (around 5k) so that might be it. However, it seems Menagerie is the way to go atm. cus murlocs have a risk of dying before they make it to the stage where they get brann + megasaur.

It was so painful watching him waste his lightfang buffs OVER and OVER on zoo bot and leaper. Someone who claims to be big brains is awfully oblivious to something that happened so many times and didn't notice once that he is bad.

10:05 well, considering that I usually don't manage to hit some specific 5* minion through 40 freaking refreshes, this hero power is totally useless. And Im not even talking about finding a third copy for a triple, just casually refreshing to find the first Brann for 4 turns in a row with no result.

I have not played Elise yet. Did realize that the maps cost gold. Now it makes sense why Elise is not op.

IamAnoob it’s still powerful to recruit like that. Most of the time you rank at the end of your turn or the start, requiring you to refresh or wait til the next round for a new tier. This power rewards you for ranking up and you can use it whenever, either as a reroll and recruit or a tier up and recruit without rerolling the board. It’s limited in its uses but it’ll power you up a lot if you’re lucky

I've tried elise, I dont understand why here hero power is useful. Like sure it gives you the opportunity to get another minion that's not in the tavern, but you're just finding another in your tier for the same cost. I just dont see the use of it

it guarantees a minion of the tier you upgrade to, that's p neat, reduces the rng of looking for 5-6 tier minions by a good amount

@@aertization I mean like I get that, it's not bad, but like I was playing her, and I'm not the best player, not nearly as good as toast or anyone, and when i tried her out, she just didnt get nearly as much value as most of the other characters do. Like she has her uses, and I can see the point, but it just falls really short

I know you streaming and dealing lots of things and i dont even know you read comments but you wasted so many lightfang buffs on the minions you sold and some of those you could prevent By selling last.

Pretty horrible decisions by toast... Battlegrounds don't seem to be his strength
