Thank you for your videos. I’m cringing as my five year old just asked for a Barbie. I came google to suss out the body type situation. I’m just a bit confused because the “original” isn’t the same body as the 80’s Barbie’s I remember. I have to do more searching-your video has helped me a lot!

I love the new body. It almost reminds me of a straight arm and leg version of the Wonder Woman Signature body. The new body looks like the 2019 body that has been working out! :-) I think this body is great, I'd love to see it as a MTM body and as a replacement for the original body since it isn't painfully thin like the original body and it looks healthy. Thanks for this comparison. I love your reviews, they are very thorough and entertaining at the same time.

The 2019 body is so interesting. Very androgynous. If it had Brooklyn’s limbs it could be more balanced. Perhaps it can be called the “androgynous body” since, to me, any head can be used and it can align to its gender expression.

The Billie Jean King doll has the same body type as Brooklyn AND she is mtm. Hopefully that's a sign that Mattel will use that body type more. Thanks for the comparison.

I recently saw a Barbie listed as "athletic body type". Do you think Brooklyn is that type? And is there just one type of curvy? Have they made one that's more hourglass shaped yet? The curvy's boobs are pretty small.

stupid question. I'm new to the barbie game, I wanted to get a "mental support barbie" because I like the idea and I think it would be funny if she lived in my favorite place (the bookshelf). Now I wanted to get a doll that corresponds a little more to my own physical characteristics. My only question is what about the clothes? Does everyone wear the same sizes or do I have to pay attention when buying?

Most play line Barbie fashion packs are one-size fits most, so depending on the body type you’re using, the clothes may be a little loose or tight, but they should work overall.

Is the petite one the same size as skipper/stacie dolls?

I believe there are only 4 fashionistas with the 2019 body - 128, 137, 147, and 168 (though I’m not 100% sure about 168)

@@faithelene yes, those are the 4 so far with the 2019 body. I have all of them and they are fun to redress in more feminine outfits! I've just been calling this body the 'flat chested' one. lol I have a Brooklyn, too, and knew she had a more muscular body type, but haven't undressed mine as yet, so I didn't know she had a smaller bustline, also!

Maybe they are including the 3 Ken body types - slim, original, and broad?

Not a fan of the smaller bust -- the new 'classic' body Barbies aren't exactly bombshells, so it's kinda weird to make them even smaller -- but I'm a huge fan of the larger butt, thighs, and arms! And the higher, more natural waist is awesome!
