*A little more Backstory:* The Sixsters started off with 6 members (lead guitar, rhythm guitar, bass guitar, keyboards, drummer, lead vocalist). None sisters but all female Ukrainians making them sisters. Before the war. Both original lead vocalist & lead guitarist left. The Rhythm guitarist became both lead vocalist & lead guitarist for a period. Their current lead guitarist brought in a harder rock sound. The current lead vocalist is also back being a rhythm guitarist. Their original keyboard player left a few months ago. She went back to Ukraine with her family. The keyboard player in this video is the newest member. First song we see her in. Glad she fits right in with the rest of the teenie boppers. The Sixsters is currently a five piece band. *The Sixsters only release ORIGINAL music.* During a Q&A livestream. I asked if they play cover songs. Lead vocalist said only at rehearsals. With the recent videos. They do put English lyrics to the song in the description. Both keyboardist & lead vocalists speak english. So far they haven't mixed Ukrainian & English in a song like Japanese bands do. A very good Ukrainian language song from them is called *Run To Wolf.* The video is from 2023. It's titled in Ukrainian. English lyrics in the desciption.

@@ThePentagenarian - Forgot. Their original bass player left & year & a half ago & has an open door to return anytime she wants. She moved back to Ukraine. I guess the new bass player knows rhythm guitar. Freeing up the current rhythm guitarist to run around the stage. As of now. Only the drummer & lead vocalists are the only original members left. Telling the truth. The changes they made have improved the band.

Sorry, I have to correct you. The girl playing rythm guitar and singing isn't a original member. She is part of the sixsters since around 2020. The lead guitarist became a member in 2021, the bass player 2022, and the keyboard player is the newest. She entered the band mid 23. The Drummer ist the only original one.

This band impressed me so much that I went to their channel and watched some other videos. They have videos as far back as 2019 when they looked like they were middle school age. Early on they were a 6 piece band which makes sense given their name. I listened to 4 other songs and they ranged from really good to solid. I can't imagine much better from such a young band. I would describe them as pop punk but I have a feeling the music will get heavier as they get older, at least that is my hope. This video is unique enough and the song good enough to get them some views. Bottom line, this a band of good musicians already writing good songs with a vocalist that has the potential to become great.

Great reaction! So glad you have found The Sixsters! They are sooo talented and are such nice people too. They have made many great songs; my faves are: For Us, For Me, Fever, City, Seem To Dance, I'm Gonna Be, Media Minion. Even the many tracks that are recorded in Ukrainian only are total bangers and the language does not matter - if a song rocks, it ROCKS!! As a certain 3 Mexican sisters that you know well said once: "MUSIC is the language" 😀

Fever is great, really like the 2021 version in the original Ukrainian language (they later did it again in 2022 in English) Bassist Kira and Keyboardist Maya had made it out of Ukraine at start of the war and were with the band, but in the past year returned to Ukraine with their families. Kayta the drummer, who created the band is awesome

The Sixsters are great! I've been supporting them for some years now, and have seen them live on several occasions. If you ever get the chance to see them live, do it! They are great musicians, have an unbelievable stage presence with lots of attitude and are the nicest people when you talk to them off stage. They have a variety of songs, most older ones in Ukrainian, newer ones often in English, and every song is interesting and fun to listen to. I like the accents the keyboard sets, and the bass which shines more and more in the newer songs. The lead guitar is great, too! And of course the songs wouldn't work without the fantastic drums and the lead- and background-singers powerful voices!

Just have to add: I've so much respect for these girls and their parents, especially the manager, Alex, who does everything he can to help the band achieve their dreams. They had to leave their homes because of the war, found new homes in Germany and I think Switzerland, build a studio in Essen in the middle of Germany where they come together and started making music again. They are really dedicated to their music and just founded their own label to better promote it.

Yes said the same when they premiered this song they have had such a hard road but recently have gained a sponsorship from Fame Musical Equipment and believe they also have access to a recording studio there momentum has really picked in the past year and an half but have struggled a bit with members leaving but somehow have been able to replace with talented young ladies the only original member was Kayta (drummer) who started the band and the keyboardist that just moved back to Ukraine was the next longest member Mayia . They are from 13 to 17 years of age now. First put together in 2018. Here's the band... Katya on drums, Maiya on keys, Polina on bass and backup locals, Maria on rhythm guitar and lead vocals and Anya on lead guitar. Yes, there should be six but it's a bit of a story. The new keyboardist is Maya Podolska.

I get that you are bit impressed. Katya , the drummer was my first indroduction to them way before the band was formed. There is a actual full documentary on her. The band was actually formed by the drummers dad over 5 years ago because he could not find anyone for to play with at her level. The singer , Maria is a accomplished piano player that was brought in to play rhythm guitar. She had to quickly take on the lead vocals and and temporarily the lead guitared too. She has also taken on the task of writhing all lyrics for the band

I've been watching them since they were forced to flee Ukraine. The war in Feb 2022 literally started in their back yards in Kiev. They eventually made their way to Germany where they have a new recording studio and are sponsored by Fame Guitars. They are very talented and I suggest you take a look at Kate Kuziakina, the drummer. Her videos go back about 8-9 years to when she first started learning to play at 6 years old. At 8yo she traveled to the USA to compete in the "Hit Like a Girl" competition. She won her category 8 to 18 years. Started the band The Sixsters at 10 yo. She is a Prodigy in her own right. They have a new song coming out on the 22nd of this month I believe.

Each song is COMPLETELY unique, and this video doesn't even begin to show the scope of their work. A little funky, a little punky, a fun sound with some rather serious lyrics. Great reaction. I had seen a couple of The Sixters earlier videos, but hadn't been following them. Glad to see they made it out of Ukraine, and have found someplace safe to continue on. I noticed that they have another new video dropping later this month, so I clicked to be notified of that. Interested to see what else they have to put out. February first was also the release date for a video from another young band. Freeze The Fall is a young trio out of Kelowna BC Canada. Quinn (16) lead vocals and guitar. Jonah (15) drums, and Aria (15) backing vocals and bass. They have been a band for less than two years, but have put out some good stuff on You Tube. Glitch is their first single from their debut EP which is due out in, I think, April. kzread.info/dash/bejne/hI1mmLN9hdGflKg.html I discover them about eight months ago when they posted several videos, including a cover of Evolve by The Warning, as well as a cover of The Pretender by The Foo Fighters, and five originals song from a live performance that they did. Evolve got my attention, their originals got me to subscribe. It looks as if this spring will bring a lot of good new music.
