New attractions set to open at Mandai Wildlife Reserve
New attractions are set to open at the world-renowned Mandai Wildlife Reserve,
including an eco-resort by a luxury hotel chain and a new park modelled after the rainforests of Africa. Dr Sin Harng Luh, Senior Lecturer at the Singapore University of Social Sciences, talks about the experiences visitors can look forward to with the new attractions. She also discusses the value of the development in Singapore's efforts to attract more eco-tourism dollars.

I remember when Aunty Sin, as we would fondly call her, in one of the modules talked about this project we weren't sure it would happen. May god bless the PAP for all that they have done - to bring in economy to Singapore so all of us Singaporeans can thrive.

Brought my toddler to the zoo, nearly died of the heat. Brought her to night safari, cant see anything, still dying of the heat. Mandai needs to mitigate the heat problem.

It is supposed to be a close-to-nature experience, and if you want it to be chilled with Aircon/fan throughout the whole area, then it would be more of a "zoo within a mall", not a practical idea. Plus that's what the rainforest climate is like. If anything, global warming is the main problem and the shared responsibilities of countries worldwide.
The best natural Wildlife to watch, observe and see tops is still in our Parliament.
It’s nice to have a nature resort. However, the occupants there will need to ensure that nature and wildlife in that area are well protected and maintained. With more visitors, they need to ensure proper disposal of their trash and cleanliness. Not just build and let it be.
