Может это и чистый город, и возможно в нем не так много бездомных людей, но он совсем не тихий и спокойный. Это столица России, в Москве проживает больше 20 000 000 человек. Это огромный мегаполис, Москва по площади больше, чем некоторые государства. Я Москву не люблю. Огромные толпы людей, спешка, суета. Если и наслаждаться неспешно жизнью в тихом и уютном городе, то в России можно поехать, например, в город Губкин Белгородской области или ещё куда-нибудь, в провинцию, а Москва это для молодых, чистолюбивых людей, желающих делать карьеру.

🇷🇺🤝🇲🇫 vive l'amitié russo-française

I do not go to Moscow often and usually dread it but once there by train from my adopted home of St Petersburg, I always end up having a great time. In the last 12 years or so, the "New" mayor has transformed the city so the traffic is less, there are beautiful walking streets in the city center. A friend has a modern art gallery on Old Arbat, an area I really like. Moscow seems to have slowed down and mellowed out, people walk slower, are happy to meet strangers instead of rushing off somewhere, usually on business. I has always been spotlessly clean and the buildings well maintained, with about all the culture one can wish for. My first visit was in 1976 at what was probably the peak of Soviet prosperity before the 1980s stagnation. Everyone back then well dressed, rather formally. I visited Russia many times before moving from California USA to St Petersburg in 2000. I have loved every minute of it, such s beautiful city, very walkable. Moscow is much larger but still St Petersburg has 5.5 million officially registered there and another 1.5 million who are registered somewhere else. It has 600 beautiful parks and 44 islands but Moscow has larger parks. We are on the Gulf of Finland at the end of the Baltic Sea so water, road, air and rail are the modes of transportation and commerce. Moscow has a wide river cutting through its old center as well. Moscow is a higher-cost-of-living city, incomes are generally higher but goods and services are pretty much the same. Housing is a lot more expensive in Moscow. All the western Russian regional capital cities are really nice and easy to live in compared to the west where the cost of living is very high, with little or no public transport, poor access to culture and medical care. If more Americans visited Russia they would be shocked at how united, fun, and pleasant life is here but the constant intense nonsense propaganda has the non-traveling public convinced it is a hell hole. These cities are about 30-50 times safer. A woman alone can walk through any neighborhood at 3am and feel perfectly safe. That would not be possible in most of Europe and definitely not in the US or UK. The difference is a more tolerant society and culture. Russia is going in the right direction as are many eastern countries while Europe and North America have had a declining quality of life and security since the 1970s. You can just feel it, optimistic energy, but calm and adaptability. One really nice trait of Russia is how men and women like each other and get along, were more and more in the west the very fabric of the societies are being torn apart by hostility between the sexes. Woman are more feminine in Russia because they have had full equal rights in reality for 100 years so there is no need for battles or set-asides in preferential hiring or special programs for women because that battle is not settled in the west. In Russia, more women head businesses and universities than men and no one would question whether she was given special treatment to bypass better-qualified men. When a woman is in a high position, a very common trait, it is just assumed she was the best candidate. So men and women can be friends, and easier to meet, and form relationships due to actual compatibility. Dating and socializing is MUCH more pleasant here. Also, a major difference is the very high level of education of almost everyone. Education is priority #1 for children and they seem to like the more challenging level of teaching at any given age. Russian kids learn English in second grade, world history, and math much earlier than the minority in the west that get that even as late teens. The kids(everyone) has great access to the arts, the top balconies of every performance of opera, ballet or symphonies are filled with kids, who see no difference in their attraction to it than pop or rock. World-class performances in many theaters every night. Drama and comedy theaters are in dozens of theaters every night of the year. Many of my friends are stage or film actors, opera singers, jazz singers, or ballet dancers, film or stage directors, and artists and they are all very talented, and dedicated but also very down-to-earth and pleasant to be around. I was in the music industry in California for many years as a recording engineer and recording studio owner and had a great deal of success luckily worked with and recorded albums for the top stars but my Russian arts and performers are more grounded and normal people.

Последний раз 5 лет назад примерно был в Москве, на видео внешне не узнать уже. Когда-то столицу можно было назвать выстовочным центром, а теперь в сочетании современного престижа ещё больше всё преобразовалось. Очень надеюсь на то чтобы местное общество в душе тоже соответствовало этой красоте

Notice how clean the streets are. No drug addicts to be found but I'm sure there are areas. But on a whole it doesn't look bad. I wonder what they eat because I'm not into the pickled fish and bear meat thing. A good hot dog stand or submarine shop would be nice. Cheese, wine, bread stores ?? Charcuterie ??? Maybe even a steak house Hamburger, BBQ ?????
