With all the reviews on this product, nobody compares it to Aramis, the original. Just how MUCH does it differ?

Another excellent review, Max. Thank you! Have been an aramis classic fan since I was a teenager in the 1970s and 80s, and just blind bought Tobacco Reserve--based in part on your review. Hi Max. Just received Tobacco Reserve in the mail from Macy's today. SO glad I listened to you. My wife and I really like this excellent fragrance! WOW!

Great and very helpful video on a fantastic fragrance brand. Aramis Classic is my signature scent for years now. Unfortunately I haven't tried Tobacco Reserve or Modern Leather yet but hope I will get the chance one day.

Thanks Max, I'll definitely have to check this one out! Have a great day man. I have Modern Leather, I get quite a bit of leather throughout the duration, spices and pepper at the beginning. The pepper comes and goes during the dry down, with some wood and a pleasant floral note coming in later. Relatively versatile.

Bought it today, let me tell you its wonderful.

My favorite from the house of Aramis (and one of my all-time tobacco fragrances) is Havana, especially the vintage version in the blue bottle. I'm definitely going to try this new release. Thanks for the review!

Hey Max! Every time I go to Macy's my eyes tend to focus on this juice. Love Tobacco scents especially TF Tobacco Oud & Tobacco Vanille being my favorite.

I have been spraying Aramis since since my college days during 80's. Its timeless. If you haven't tried it my advice is go for it. Guarantee its will get you compliments. My all time favorite. Thanks Max for reviewing this all time classic. I have been begging many reviewers to bring it this gem back to 2018 era.

2020 love how you’re matching the perfume juice with your coat

Great review. I just purchased this today in the UK after watching your review. Managed to get it for about $32 dollars US equivalent. I prefer it over Pure Havane. It is not a perfume for younger guys. Definitely for the more mature gentleman like myself (41 years old). It really is a lovely juice.

Aramis is a fantastic design perfume house. I like aramis Tuscany too.

Was sniffing scents around Macy’s with no intention on buying anything. This stood out much I picked it up once the middle notes started to shine. Amazing

I've been searching for another moderately priced frag that gives me the same fresh cut tobacco opening scent as CKOne Shock but has the strength to hold out for 2-3 hours longer. Would you say this one fits the bill??

I've got Tobacco Reserve and Modern Leather and I'm hugely impressed by both. Tobacco Reserve is my favourite out of the two. Modern Leather is just like an opened box of brand new shoes. Colder and harder than Tobacco Reserve which is much warmer, sweeter and softer at least to me. I'm a big fan of Aramis in general but feel that they're suffering from an image problem that they don't deserve. The image of course is that they're associated with more mature gentlemen. I'm 50 for instance which may be why I like them but in fairness I like bubblegum fragrances too when I'm in the mood and the occasion suits. Aramis Black is definitely one a young guy could wear and also both Tobacco Reserve and Modern Leather too in my opinion.

I'm about a decade older than you and wore Aramis through college. After not having a bottle for about 35 years, I picked up a new one a few months ago along with Havana and Tuscany. I'm sorry I didn't buy the last two when they first came out and about a case of the main version 25 years ago because due to IFRA oakmoss restrictions, nothing is as strong as it used to be. As far its image, I think it's charming that the Aramis design hasn't changed, although different designs are sometimes distinguished by different formulations like another old favorite, Azzaor Pour Homme. I plan on picking up Tobacco Reserve before the Macy's sale is off. They offer this 15% discount a few times a year.

Veritas saw you in UK frag guy live stream yesterday lol you spoke up when I asked him if he'd tried tobacco reserve. I mentioned this cologne has a lotion smell and I can't tell if other people will smell only that on me. Did you smell lotion too?

@@benny98989 Ben, I must confess that I don't pick the lotion out in it. That's not to say it isn't there, of course, just that I don't personally pick it up. I find the fragrance is very one dimensional and mean that in a complementary manner. Essentially just loose pipe tobacco. I can, however, sense a lotion like note in Aramis Black along with a bit of faint latex that no-one else I've mentioned it too seems to get. It reminds me of E45 moisturising cream. I like the fact that everybody interprets scent in their own individual way. Do you like Tobacco Reserve? Is it getting some use? I'm still enjoying it in the cold weather.

Heading to Macy's to try this. Hopefully I can smell it first.

Tuscany by Aramis never mentioned in the Fragrance Community. So sleeped on and underrated. It was my first "real cologne " that I bought with my own money back when I was a teenager. I've never been without a bottle in 30 years. I think it holds up well for a fragrance originally released in 1984.

Fantastic review as always. Like the new intro. A quick fade in the music would be fitting though instead of it just stopping

Great video as usual Max. Btw, are you familiar to the cheapie frag, AEO FLEX SPORT? I came across it the other day at TJ MAXX, and picked it up for 8 bucks. Now, the reason I'm asking is because, by the looks of it, it's discontinued. Online I've noticed that it's being sold as high as 160 bucks, a 50 ml bottle. I've only been able to find very little information on this frag. So, if you happen across a TJ MAXX, I suggest you keep your eyes out for it. As far as smell, it's not bad, it's ok. But, for some reason, people are willing to spend quite a bit on this stuff.

Can you compare it to another fragrance like Halston z14 smells like polo green ( Ralph Lauren) I want to but this it's a great price on Amazon, but no one is comparing the sent to something I might have used. I've never used this one before. Thanks 👍🏻

Tobacco Reserve is wonderful; sweet, creamy tobacco that's sure to warm you up. Just recently discovered it and had to have it. I am NOT a sweet scent person, but one I love. Great to wear around the house during the fall and winter.

I bought this blindly after seeing this video .... love this fragrance it’s my go to for winter nights

hey Marco, no this is a stellar leafy tobacco scent!

This is my scent of the day today. I know it’s still summer, but I work from home and run in the evening. My wife whom smelled it for the first time today loved it! The neighbors and some ladies on my running trail complimented the fragrance as well. To me it is a sweet tobacco, it was a definite contrast between my son and I today. I sprayed Sauvage edt on him. He’s 12. So Enroute not his school there was my TR and his Sauvage filling the air!

Just bought on Amazon deal for like £20 for 110ml haven't worn for 20 years so excited!!

Which one smells best this one or Pure Havane or D&G the one 🤔

I remember as a kid trying the original Aramis, but it was too mature for me. I gave Aramis Life a go in the 90s and absolutely loved it. I'm going to have to give this one a shot.

Thought this would be good place to ask... Many Years ago i used Aramis, then it wasnt aval in my local stores so i moved on... Now ive been a die hard Grey Flannel (in dark bottle) user and still get tons of compliments as i think it has a scent of its own like no other.. I have tried a few diff one's 20-35 dollar range and always fall back on Grey Flannel... Any recommendations ?? on a newer brand product ? As i was told with the age of Grey Flannel it wont be the same anymore if i get more.... My current bottle of the grey is low, but i see # on bottom and was told i would be able to tell its year ??? but im not up on that or if its true.. P.S. I just got some La Nuit Eau de Toilette spray but not sure if its for me... seems to be your typical smell if this helps at all.

PRICE UPDATE: FYI... its at some Marshall's for $24.99!! Awesome scent overall...

Man do i love this house Aramis is just top notch. So I own 900 , Rose & Saffron calligraphy, Havana and i cant wait to get my nose on this one.

Hi Max. I really like your channel and I'm a big fan. I also love tobacco fragrances and this one from Aramis is the best I've smelled. I own 3 Aramis fragrances: Tobacco reserve, Modern leather and Special blend(2019). I really like all 3 of them as they are great manly scents and I'm 40 so I don't want to smell like a school boy ;-) It will be great if can review the other two as well. Special blend is a whiskey fragrance and smells fantastic!

Youre right Macys never has a discount on fragrances. I think they are not selling as well as before due to reformulations weakning everything. I could be wrong

Hey Max, Hope you are doing well bro, you are 100% right, It was a long time ago :) I just watched this video yesterday and almost right away did check the different Swedish websites and I finally did find this gem*** , I did order one for this winter and even one extra as a back-up , well compare to USA, over here it's110ml cost 65 bucks(should be cheaper over there I guess?) :). hard to find this in Sweden otherwise. let's see how much I'm gonna like it. of course must be superb as you mentioned it,thx buddy. cheers

I just bought one from E-bay and got surprisingly a genuine genuine for $59..00. I love this scent! Wish Aramis would spend little bit more on better presentation but it's ok. I am in my early 40's and this scent perfectly represents me.

I love anything with oak moss. This one sounds like a real winner.

Thanks for reviewing this one, Mr. Max!!!! Sadly, this one was not for me. I found the vibe of this fragrance to be a bit too green for my taste. I like my tobacco fragrances to be very sweet. A low yellow light fragrance for me.

Aramis, Devin are my favorite

I'm late to the game, just saw and tried it at Macy's and wow! Glad I got the last bottle in the store! Back in the 80s I wore the regular Aramis and Tuscany.

@@MaxForti I'm happy I picked it up! Performs pretty well. It just has this one.. "grassy"? note on the dry down that deters me from YSL L'Homme. The opening is pretty worth it, though! Definitely getting those TF Tobacco Vanille vibes (even though I've never put that one on skin). Just kinda something unique to have. Who knows, maybe I'll swap some decants or something. Sexy/mysterious date night frag to wear for my lady? 😁

I'm curious about Havana after seeing Chris's review. Any thoughts?

I think Havana was discontinued and is only available at the discounters. Accordingly, there's a good chance of getting a 2 or 3 year old bottle and the ones I've gotten have performance that isn't the greatest. I returned one and kept another. Tuscany is very good as well. I'd like to try JHL (named after Estee Lauder's husband, Joseph Harold Lauder). I also have an old .5 oz bottle of Devin I bought in the 1990's.

I think this gem is the best release from Aramis! I have 5 bottles of it.

I am late to this stuff. The lowest I could find it for was 62. I paid 69 after tax in October 2021.

Aramis Surface was fantastic.

You younger reviewers (younger to me anyway!) have no idea how popular Aramis was in the mid to late 1970's! It was my college scent after graduating from English Leather in high school. I had the shampoo and conditioner as well and reeked of Aramis when heading to class. Since you said you're a big fan of oakmoss, you might have never left the Abraham & Straus counter on Livingston and Fulton St. in Brooklyn, considering how powerful and loaded with oakmoss the original Aramis, Paco Rabanne. Paul Sebastian and Grey Flannel were. As you know, there are severe limitations on it today. You should have also mentioned that cashback sites like Ebates are offering 10% back and more on Macy's purchases.
