It is my understanding that the exhaust fan is different because for exhaust you want an airflow-optimized fan rather than a pressure-optimized fan that you would use for intakes and radiators. In my extensive case, fan, and cooling research in preparation for a new PC, this is what I've read. That's why NZXT has two versions - airflow and core (pressure).

The core fans are a different RGB design, I mentioned that in the video - 4:48. Static pressure are pretty much the same between models, it's just about lighting.

@@jordanash do you need a nzxt hub to change the colours and all of that or is it on the nzxt cam software after when you plug all the fans cables that comes with the case

If I bought 2 extra 140mm fans with an rgb controller would I be able to connect those 2 fans to it alongside the 3 front fans already connected together?

Yep, if there's enough headers on the hub. Otherwise there's the 5v adapter in the case already that I showed in the video

For the front fans are all the fan plugs and rgb plugs together or separate?

I want to get this case along with the Kraken 360 RGB. So if I also want to replace the rear exhaust fan with an RGB Core fan as you mentioned here, would it be possible to link up all 7 fans to the RGB controller that comes with the Kraken AiO? Ideally I just want to be able to build the rig and then control the 3 pre-installed case fans, the 3 radiator AiO fans and the rear exhaust fan all through CAM, is this doable?

So the fans in the case are controlled with the 5v adapter I showed, then you get a hub with the RGB kraken, but you'll need another hub just for the last fan annoyingly.

@@jordanash I saw on a Reddit thread where someone from NZXT commented, saying that the RGB controller you get with the Kraken can have up to 40 LEDs per channel and it comes with three. Each of those F120/F140 fans only have 8 LEDs, so I was under the impression you could use a splitter cable and daisy chain 2 + 2 + 3 fans into the 3 channels, and therefore RGB connect all 7? I see plenty of people building with the H7 and have 7 RGB fans so just want to know how that's set up before I pull the trigger myself

The amount of LEDs are fine, but I've not seen splitter cables for the proprietary cables, that's where I think the problem is. If you have an NZXT motherboard you can just plug straight in, but otherwise, you need hubs.

Hii! Ive a question! Is this ARGB cable compatible with the VDG ARGB of Gigabyte MB? Or only for the standar 3pin5v of the rest of MB? Edit: I was watching the new MB of Gigabyte and they comes withe the standard connector of 3pin 5v, ita correct? Its 3Pin with one separation between the second and third right? Times ago gigabyte had his propietary VDG connecror with 3 pins without separation, its correct my think? Thanks a lot!

Hey! It's not directly, but you can get adapters to change the VDG into 5v. I think most GB motherboards have both though, as far as I can remember anyway.

@@jordanash so, with the b760 gaming x of Gigabyte, it should be totally compatible as I can see in the manual, actually Gigabyte have the current RGB connector like the other fabs like MSI or ASUS

You can use the adapter I showed onto the motherboard rgb header, them control with the manufacturer's software.

not sure if you'll reply as the video is old. but nzxt online page slaps a case version against the fans in this case and mentions a 3 pin connector type. are the default fans not pwm?

Not even four months and that's old?! Blimey I'd hate to hear what 31 years would be classed as 😂 The front are PWM, you can see in the video - 6:40. Might be reffering to the rear fan.

​@@jordanashokay nah you cleared my doubt I skimmed over precisely the part where you mention that the site mentions them as 3 pin but they are pwm which is why I was confused because of the site listing. While 4 months is not that old in a realistic sense most youtubers don't reply to anything more than their latest video and that too only in the early hours and your channel was decently big to think that you might not lol.

Hey. Don't think so, if I didn't mention or show one then no. NZXT focus on performance anyway, and to be fair cleaning your system a little more regularly for increased performance is well worth it.

I used an NZXT Core RGB fan in the Kraken videos, they worked well.

Sad that case dont have argb controller tho, but i grabbed it insted of classic flow jist bcs of “worth of extra air”

The fans use NZXT proprietary 4-pin connectors, but the 3-in-1 adapter in the case is argb.
