*New* Add Soft Ride to YOUR tractors loader. 🚜

Автокөліктер мен көлік құралдары

Larger equipment often has some version of a Soft Ride that takes hydraulic shock from your loader. We now have an option for compact tractors, allowing your loader to bounce just enough to smooth out your ride. Neil explains how the hydraulic accumulators work and in what situations this is most helpful.

Crazy how much of a difference that makes…. You could easily modify it to work with a 12v button and a solenoid instead of a lever to flip

These accumulators are at least as old as the the Citroen cars that used them in the 1960s for their hydraulic suspension. That car was way ahead of it’s time.

I push manure with my MX 5400 out of my commercial chicken barn and push it all up into a big pile. Every time I ride up the pile and dump. As I reverse I'm slamming my loader down and bouncing the whole tractor in order to travel back to the front of the barn. This soft loader kit would be a huge benefit to me. I drive over big piles and I'm always bouncing like mad. This is a game changer for me 😀

This may be a must for me. I have a second hand L4200 with a 9 ft bradco backhoe that I have thus far only used for luging firewood poles out of my forest lot. The terrain is uneven and there are a number of small three to five inch diameter poles that are set across the the trails to help control run off. Whenever I go over these with any kind of weight I get more bounce than I would like. This may be my solution!

Might be a good thing on a small backhoe. In a couple of conditions, the boom out cylinder "locks" with no fluid able to go in or out, than curl the bucket and you can bend the ram. Having accumulators on the in and out lines for that cylinder can save you from buying a new cylinder.

Awesome didn't realize they made them for smaller tractors. Always had them in Big cat loaders I ran and often wondered if they was a smaller variant. But I wonder if a electric solenoid instead of a ball valve can be used with a wire run up to the dash. You wouldn't have to get off the tractor to engage and disengage. Especially if you are working a hard pile and then ant farming it to another location

Appreciate the video - have been considering getting one of these for quite a while. Have a couple questions though: What type & size fittings are on each kit for tying into the loader? (e.g. is it 1/2" NPT threads? or ____?) Also, does this tie into the lift side of the loader hydraulic circuit? (I'm assuming so, but may have missed the verification & couldn't quite tell from the images).

I would also consider the solenoid as we asked about in other comments as I like the idea of not getting on and off the tractor. Yes it can. I made a kit for my Branson F36Rn and mounted the accumulator on the tractor side. I can also reach the On/Off valve without even leaving the seat and it stays in the tractor if I take the loader off. In your case with a cab, you can get a simple 12V operated hydraulic On/Off valve and use a button to turn it on or off somewhere in the cab.

Hey Neil - I'm curious about Hydraulic pressures when it comes to things like your hydraulic pump wearing out, and identifying that. For example on a BX tractor; Should you be able to raise an empty loader at 800 RPM? If not; should you be able to at 900RPM? (etc...) It would be nice to have a reference to compare. I realize fluid, and temp will also affect this.

With the 4320 Deere I just sold, I always had to drive slow and watch where my loader arms were because I broke the (spun welded) fittings on the lift cylinders- only one cylinder at a time, but several times since it was new in 2008. This may have helped prevent those headaches on my 400CX loader. Needless to say I didn't order another Deere, because the current design still has those same problems.
