Well, technically, I didn't break the promise I made LAST THURSDAY not to spend any more money on watches. I did buy a box though..... The winder was sent to me by Safebuymall.com for review and it is OK, you'd probably be better off with their cheaper offerings though. Cheers, JOMW.

I had a cheap double winder from Amazon (£50 approx.) lasted about 5 years. I was not going to get another but saw a Wolf one (their cheapest model) as I was going to give it to my wife as I bought her a lovely automatic. However she does not use it and I don't like it that much, no door and the cushion popped out ejecting my Omega on to the hard wood floor! Bought another cushion but still don't trust it that much. My advice is buy a cheap one (£10 a year!) or don't get one at all as it must give them more wear & tear! Part of the fun is setting them although it does get a bit tedious if it's none hand wind like an SKX. As for a watch box I bought a old wood box at an antiques fair (£20), cleaned and waxed it, got some felt to line it and some cushions (eBay) looks great now and holds about 15 watches. Bargain!

Very interesting video, Jody. I had all my watches in a winder until recently when I had a safe installed in our house. I got a little paranoid, I guess. Need to get a watch box that fits into the safe though, it's rather small.

I have two Mozsly devices to manage the power reserve of 5 quality automatic watches. I tend to rotate the watches according to when they were last worn and by their power reserve. I switch on the winders for around 8-10 hrs a day only when I think necessary (not always the same watch naturally) and they keep all pieces ticking along very nicely. Super quiet, not silly money and very reliable, they can run off the mains, be linked together, or run on two AA batteries if you don't want the hassle of cables and I've found the latter easily last for over two months when operating them on the standard bi-directional 650TPD setting. They cannot overwind a decent watch - if that was the case and you wear an auto watch daily, it would break in no time. If you are going away for a long time and are not taking all your collection (who does lol), just let the watches wind down, stop and rest. it will do them no harm at all.

That must be the Outhouse Lawyer in you but it is still a thin argument, I know, I've tried it LOL. If it says watch or is watch related it is the same as buying a watch, according to my wife. Any of those watches you thin out can be sent my way for safe keeping. Great video again.

Subscriber giveaways are getting quite common these days. I however think that Jody's true 'giveaways' are his excellent videos about high value watches. Those give me a small dopamine shot everytime!! Boxes are hugely popular, but I can recommend everyone to have at least 1 pole ($2,50 aliexpress) for your favourite watches. It makes you feel surrounded with you favorite toys, up for grabs...

Funny... these things can be had for much less today (Feb 2020) on Amazon.de - which is usually not the best place to get the lowest prices ... EDIT: Just unboxed the double-stack Chiyoda Jody was looking at in the video. At €44 from amazon.de, I wouldn't even mind if the thing broke after the 18 month warranty - it'd still make a decent display-case.. ;) If anyone's interested: The build-quality seems outstanding for the price I paid. Sturdy, wooden case with a nice, glossy black finish. The switches feel solid and click right into place. The construction of the "holding mechanism" is rather primitive: No push-in clips to unlock the pillow from the cradle, you just stick the pillow in and friction holds it there. Doesn't seem to be overwhelmed by the two 42mm steel-divers I have in there (weighing 166 & 174 grams). The motors are not 100% silent in operation, but I have to put my ear right on the winder to hear them run. I have this thing sitting on my night-stand, next to my head and am not worried about losing sleep. No idea about long-term durability (obviously) but so far I'd highly recommend this winder for this price.
