This is the same crew that captured the formation of the EF-5 Joplin tornado. They may sound a little goofy during filming, but they are REALLY GOOD at this and manage to get incredibly great footage that can even serve in research purposes.

Can y’all not argue? There could be a whole different slew of things happening, from both points I can understand from the two of you. Yes, tornados can change direction at a turn of a dime, leaving chasers in a tight spot, experienced and not experienced. It’s one of the traps you have to look out for in chasing. On the other hand I could see why he would stay away from the tornado. It’s an F4 tornado to start with, debris is in the air, and it’s not small. Just the debris alone can fuck someone up, usually the thing that kills a person anyways. Another idea I would like to entertain is maybe they were in the area and didn’t have an experienced driver. He’s being cautious because either it’s his fist time seeing an F4 or he is new to the job and hasn’t gotten use to it yet. There is no need to start calling people ignorant and calling others names. It’s childish. This is KZread and I can only presume you two aren’t children. Your also arguing on a weather channel, on someone else’s comment. Please grow up. Some of what you state is fact but other is opinion. Don’t go getting an ego. Thank you.

This tornado came within a mile of hitting my home. It was a pretty cold day, so you wouldn't expect any kind of bad weather like this. We were watching the news and a friend of ours called and asked where we were. We told them we were at home in Petal. She immediately panicked and told us it was headed straight for us. I got off the phone and opened my front door. I saw the scariest, black and green sky I had ever seen. We were living in a trailer park at the time...there were gigantic pine trees all throughout it. I told my fiance we were getting in the car and hauling ass. I know they tell you not to get in a vehicle to try and outrun a tornado, but a trailer is as safe as a cardboard box. A metal vehicle is, sadly, a better option...considering all the pine trees. Luckily, it narrowly missed us. Just down the road there was an ACE Hardware building. Thank God it was Sunday when this thing hit. ACE was closed. I drove past there and saw that there was nothing left of ACE . The whole building just disappeared, save for about a foot of the foundation. We were lucky it hit on a Sunday when a lot of people either weren't at work or were in church. Had it hit during the business week, there most certainly would have been a lot of deaths.

Chris Percell I think Michael was yelling as much as he was because he was hanging out the window shooting footage and obviously had to yell which is why he sounds like he’s in a different car. At the start of the video I originally thought they were picking up Reed Timmer yelling info to an operator bc he sounded so far away. As for Scott and his constant “continue” and telling Michael to stop I have to assume it was bc every time Michael panicked the driver was reacting. Confusing could be pretty dangerous even if there wasn’t a tornado on the ground. As annoying as it was I think Scott was just trying to keep the driver focused

I agree Robert, who cares what size it was. People were hurt. I was gonna write a question of if they helped folks. Thankfully, these guys recognized people were hurt and stopped. Tornado videos are cool but when you see debris, probably someone needs help. We should change tornado chasing to tornado chasing victim assistance. F the scientists and their EF scales. Bet the dude that criticized you hasn't done shit to help anyone. Just sits at his computer trolling.

Jeff Parry My boyfriend is a storm chaser, and I am an EMT. When we can, we go out during this kind of stuff. And we always help. Mid chase, doesn't matter. We stop. If you watch Reed Timmer videos, they ALWAYS stop and help people that are hurt. I am hoping everyone would. We live in St. Louis Missouri so we are literally in the middle of everywhere that gets hit this hard. My boyfriend and his friends even left right after the Joplin Tornado and the Moore, Oklahoma Tornado to do search and rescue. Being able to do that and see all these people coming to help others they don't know kind of restores my faith in humanity.

Did we forget the fish?

So I actually started reading some of the comments as I was appx 1 minute into the video and after getting the sense that the word continue may had been repeatedly abused, I went back to the beginning and started watching it again. At first I thought, "I haven't heard him say it at all." And then they got past the firetruck. I immediately started a comparison count of how many times the word "continue" was uttered vs how many times the wiper blades cycled. The windshield wiper blades came in a close 2nd.

I just imagine Michael yelling all of that while sticking his head out the window to other people outside or in their cars

The driver is like “damn your footage angles, I’m trying to stay alive “ 🤦🏽‍♂️

I am both the Michael and the guy saying "continue" in every situation.

What's your favorite Michael line? "It's hugely loud" 😂😭😂😭 Michael stole the whole darn show lmao!

I was there... The sirens on campus were going off, but elsewhere (out in Oak Grove, where the video begins), there were none.

Oh, man. Maybe this is wrong, but Michael is killing me. Laughing out loud. "No! There's too many people on the freeway!" "Michael stop!" LOLOL. Thanks for sharing.

My friend and I have been watching this video for years. It NEVER gets old. I think it could be made into a movie.

At 6:32, when the dictator in the passenger seat said “Chase is over !”, I’ll bet the driver thought “thank Christ !”, now I can ditch this controlling loudmouth !

Legend has it the guy narrating is still saying "Continue" till this very day!!! Lol Great footage and very brave of you all.

I come back to watch this probably once a year. This is still some of the best tornado footage I've seen. And I was in it! I was right across the street from the Aaron's! Crazy stuff. Still gives me chills.

I was in this tornado, it was huge. It flattened my whole block except for my car, house and our business on Oak Grove Rd. I stood there screaming "Jesus, Jesus, Jesus!!!" the whole time. We are here today because God protected us.

Beautiful. Amazing work. Really grateful to be able to see this footage.
