The 2025 Honda Pilot is comfortable and plenty spacious for its front and middle-row passengers. But it lags behind class leaders in third-row room and cargo space, and its tech is a half-step behind the curve. In terms of overall appeal, some competitors deliver more bang for your buck.

I hope you are enjoying your new vehicle. I retired from the plant that builds these in Lincoln, AL and I'd like to personally thank you for buying the Pilot. One of my last major tasks was doing the plant side accounting for the launch of this body style. The groundwork for this started years ago and Honda spent a boatload of money to expand the plant and put in new equipment to handle the new heavier chassis. I don't know how many $1mil+ budget applications I reviewed for plant and equipment. I wish they would re-start the plant tours so you could see things in motion.

Honestly you can't go wrong with either Honda or Toyota. Both will outlast most people. Really the biggest difference between the Pilot and the Highlander is the V6 compared to the Highlanders 4cyl, yeah they dropped the V6 a couple years ago. Congrats.

While working at Honda as a technician, I buy the Pilot Black Edition 2022 AWD. I like to keep it clean so every week I hand washed twice a week. Yeah that could be too much for it but that just me. Especially bcuz the color is black and is a color that I have to keep it clean. Now it has 30,000 miles and the transmission started to lack. Everytime I make a stop and hit the gas pedal, it start thinking on the first gear for about 5 seconds. If I make a right turn it also start thinking on the speed. As a technician I try looking for any updates or bulletin to see if there any recall or campaign for the Transmission but there is nothing. I do my oil changes exactly at every 5,000 miles and the tire rotation, transmission fluid exchange, differential, transfer case and throttle service with injectors cleaning every 10,000. I remember that the Pilots 2016 through 2019 have the same issue when they got to the 20,000 miles and we change the transmission solenoids. Now talking about the difference with the 2022 and 2023 I don't think the first sun roof opens up. That part I don't like it. The other think I don't like is the TV. The 2023 It doesn't come with TV no more. Everything else is the same. All it change is the exterior how it looks on the front more like a square and the 2022 the front goes a little bit down shape. Is a good Honda Pilot tho. But I will wait and see if the 2026 comes in a better shape and upgraded.

I have a 2008 Toyota Tundra truck that runs great. We have run the numbers of holding a car for a long time & repairing it vs having one under warranty & trading it in while it has greater value (2-3years old). The numbers make sense for us always under warranty, free maintenance & peace of mind of having my wife travel in the safest/most reliable vehicle possible. I used to listen to Dave Ramsey a lot & used to agree with him about ONLY owning a used vehicle. I have since changed my opinion that there is value in having a reliable vehicle under warranty. I would agree with him that you should pay cash & not buy a vehicle outside your budget.

When you trade in your vehicle that often you can save money on the extend warranties. Probably save around 6 to 8 thousand on them. No need to buy them if you don't have the car very long. And if you get the complimentary 2 year maintenance you save on that as well. Vehicle also doesn't depreciate that much in 2 years. As long as you can afford to buy it out right or a large down payment, by the time you buy the next one you won't owe much at all on the new one. Also wanted to know what microphones you use?

And what do you have to do once those 15-20years are up & one is doing lots of repairs constantly? Eventually fork out a big chunk of change to get a new car. Or you can just pay a little bit every 3 years & always be under warranty. Much like the iphone, people would say they are still rocking their iPhone 11 and see no reason to upgrade. Whereas the phone we use is a great tool & will upgrade our 15's the new iPhone 16's when it comes out this fall. If someeone is happy with their older car or phone and it does the job for them, great! If someone has the means & desire to pay the difference to upgrade something, great!

@@AdventureIsOutThereyou’re boasting your new vehicle purchase to your viewers, basically bragging. Sure some viewers can upgrade their car, many cannot. It shows you bragging about upgrading to a 2025 from a 2023 and to some followers bragging is shaming them. You aren’t staying humble, you’re boasting to people that you can afford to upgrade. I never brag about what I have to people, not everyone can afford what others can and bragging like this isn’t exactly the right thing to do in the eye of “god.” Stay humble, don’t brag, I never brag about my life and possessions to others since we all are in different circumstances. You do great with the local stuff to do in the smokies, but bragging isn’t helping your image.

@@joelovehenry5035 The new car is referred to a blessing to get us to where we will be going in future videos. It's a tool we are grateful for and by no means are bragging or any shaming is intended. It worked out great that they were in need of used inventory & looking to move their new inventory and it was great that we were able to negotiate numbers that worked for us & Honda. My other vehicle is a 2008 Toytoa Tundra and as a libertarian I really don't care what others have. If someone gets a new house, bike, car, phone, etc. I would be happy for them and celebrate for them & do my best to not be quick to judge them. If people are looking for the worst in your motives or actions, they will find it. The main audience this video is for is other families who are researching the 2025 Honda Pilot today and 2 years from now trying to determine if they should by this or something different. Ultimately, God knows the heart of an individual whether they are worshipping the gift rather than the giver.

@@AdventureIsOutThere you can spin it as you wish to justify it to yourself, but as you can see in the other comments others have left, it’s bragging and the opposite of being humble. You can see it as you choose, but many have commented and pointed out this is bragging. I’d honestly never post anything like this since I would never want to brag about what I have when others are not in my same situation and I wouldn’t want to make them feel bad, I guess that would be me considering empathy towards others when I think about it. Your post is a 180 degree opposite of staying humble. Nothing against you, but bragging isn’t the best thing to show your viewers when I’m sure some are struggling in this economy. Take care.

That's the way Honda/Acura has built vehicles. You get that trim and it comes exactly that way. They are different than say GM or Ford.

@@AdventureIsOutThereWell, Honda did reveal the 2026 Honda Passport, an all new generation of it. But, it’s just a front grill only and not the entire thing. Ridgeline might also use the new pilot chassis.

Doesent the dealer rip you off everytine you trade in a car or are you ok with ut? I had got a 23crv last year and my gosh i felt ripped off and it was a horrible experience. Besides to be honest i felt that paying 40k otd for a jew was was not worth it. I had an older cev 2012 and it was great too the only major difference in a new car is the safety features and the adaptive cruise control and sone small tid bits other than that its pretty much rhe same. Waste of money that coukd he hetter soent eosewhere

It's so ugly but at the same time it's got a reliable V6 and a real transmission. So I can't fault anyone for buying it.
