Being a GM Tech all i see is a royal ass load of recalls and module update reflashes. It pays almost 10 hours to replace the CAT/DPF part of the exhaust, and it takes damn near every minute of that time. Also when (not if) you start having issues that require anything more than a module reflash, be prepared to not have your brand new Tahoe for 6+ months due to most things on national back order. You can thank everyone who went on strike and just ended a couple weeks ago. Now if you can afford to have your vehicle w/o warranty i recommend doing an emissions system "update" in whoch eliminates a load of problems.

You are not a GM Tech, you are a redditor that hasn't touched grass. The LZ0 Duramax has the best emissions system of any light-duty diesel vehicle for sale today. The EGR takes exhaust gasses after the DPF unlike other diesels. I'd still delete it after the warranty is up because I hate regens, but the emissions equipment shouldn't damage the engine like it does in other diesels.

@@Magnus_Magnusson_702 I don't know where you get this from or why you think that for some reason regular vehicles just break down all the time because it's just false. I mean I had a 2011 QX56 that I bought with 80,000 miles and I have had this for seven years now and we have put 70,000 more miles on it and have only ever done basic maintenance. We did a 110,000 mile tune up in changing the spark plugs and changing out the differential fluid and then I changed the alternator in 2020 along with a couple coils and I changed the starter in 2022. Otherwise, I just do an oil change and clean the air filter. So prior to the vehicle being 10 years old; it required no actual maintenance other than oil changes and air filters. I have a 2017 Chevy SS sedan and I bought it new; has 45k now. It's supercharged making 700hp and I don't exactly drive it slow... Nothing has gone wrong with it which wasn't something I did or when I broke a part at the race track. Nothing major has ever broken so in terms of general reliability; it has been 100% reliable. In my experience with my other gas cars, as well as the ones I mentioned, I can say that gas vehicles are in general pretty much reliable until 120,000 miles when there are major services. And at that point in time, it's usually not too much to service them for another 100,000. At 100,000 miles though your Tesla is out of warranty and unless you have done everything you can to take care of the battery it will definitely have degradation and reduced range and reduced power and you will be looking for a new battery costing over 10,000 to over 20,000 dollars. To make matters even worse, the motors in Teslas are not known to last to even 200,000 miles, whereas gasoline motors often last over 400,000 miles before they need to be rebuilt, as long as they are taken care of, such as doing oil changes, which honestly cost only around $30.
