I bought a gently used 2019 model that had been very well equipped with extended fairings, the Yamaha frame sliders, the upgraded top box rack and the Yamaha top box that has the integral passenger backrest (Its a $1500 option). I have the bags that go inside the panniers. It is a very easy bike to ride and very smooth. I've had it 20 months/10,000 km (Ontario so we only ride 7-8 months/year). It has so much power it does everything effortlessly and I find I rarely need to rev the engine past 5000 rpm as it rolls on well in any just about any gear but stick it in Sport Mode and let it rev and it's an absolute rocket ship. The one area that needs significant improvement for extended riding - the seat. My bike has the Yamaha Comfort Seat but it's not good enough for riding 500+ km/day so I'd go Sargent, Corbin or Laam. I did a 4000 km trip last year with my wife - Toronto to the Tail of the Dragon/Cherahala Skyway via Skyline Drive (Shenandoah National Park) and the Blue Ridge Parkway. I went with the FJR as the engine has a 20 year history and is known to be bulletproof, as an "older" bike the price is very good so represents good value for money, and although big' its not huge like a Harley or a Gold Wing so its easy to use as a daily rider (I take the panniers off). It is also very good on gas when cruising at road legal speeds. Mine now rides on Michelin Road 6 GT's which grip well and last reasonably well also.

Awesome. Sounds like allot of the mods I want to do as well. Ya I feel same way. Proven bike. No need to even attempt opening it up and your exceeding every speed limit in Canada haha. So far been fun to ride and a nice change from my wr250r. Will be doing it’s first service very soon. Also have the bar risers just haven’t had time to put them on. Cheers!
I bought one 6 weeks ago in Ontario, its a great bike, i put Michelin road 6 gt on at 2,250 great move and a tall Vstream windshield so i can ride with a half helmet in the summer.

Thanks, will do! Cheers
I put 100K on my 2004 FJR. Traded it in on a new BMW GS. Love my GS, but whenever I see a FJR, I gotta smile. It was a great bike!!

Nice. Glad it’s left ya with great memories. Cheers
I love the FJR and the Yamaha Blue. I had a 2010 BMW R1200 RT. It was between the Beemer and the Yamaha. Back then the 2010 Beemer had all the features I wanted, especially CC. It was quite a bit lighter and I just love the Boxer engine. Rode all over BC and NW US. Loved that bike, rode 20 K km/year.

Nice. Going from my wr250r dual sport to this is a major upgrade haha. I want to have some road trips on it. Biggest reason I bought it. Cheers!
Nice video, and beautiful bike. I have a 2016 same exact color and bike. I want to get a newer model, but they're the same. Yamaha needs to give us a colored TFT screen, full digital option. As big as the gauge space is on the dash, they could install a MASSIVE screen. I want a new one, but there's no reason because it's the same as my 16. Come on Yamaha give us some tech....lol. Stay safe

Ya I plan on owning this for like 15 years I think. Cheers
Are you up in Campbell River? I’m just down the road in the Comox Valley with a 2018 FJR 1300. I’ve done some farkle add ons. Regarding the seat, I tried a Yamaha Comfort Seat but it wasn’t a big enough improvement to me. So rather than going incrementally up, I just bit the bullet and went with a custom Russell Day Long seat. After the break in period it was and is great! It’s not heated and I didn’t get the optional backrest. I do have a Yamaha Topcase for road trips. And I place the cooler on the passenger seat which acts like a backrest. Glad you’re enjoying it!

I am. Haha figured someone would recognize the area. Cheers! I am probably going to spend the money on the Sargent seat combo with heated seats and back rest. Will prob stay away from the top box for now. But ya never know. I just got the motorad risers. That video will be coming soon!
Never saw this motorcycle, it doesn't exist in Brazil, great one... looks like the BMW R 1250 RT

Only ridden it for 600km. So far I love it. Got shit ton of power. Basically feels like a train on wheels! I have ridden the RT 1200. Very similar bike! Cheers
This was always a very good bike. From the very begining of its production. It is a shame that they don't sell it anymore in my country (CE Europe). If they decide to make a new model I will seriously consider buying it, otherwise I will wait for 2-3 years and buy a 2020-2021 model. I enjoyed the video. You did a detailed presentation. How tall are you? I see that you have adjusted the seat to the lower setting.

I am 5’8”. I haven’t changed a thing since I purchased it. I believe it’s still on taller seat height. Only time I have had the seat off was at the dealership to put my insurance under the seat haha. Cheers

@@bigair0176 As seen in the video it seems to be in the lower position, but... you will see yourself. :) Thanks for the answer bro. Appreciate it. Cheers.

@@RRRRefuelRideRace @bigair0176 From the factory, the seat should be set to the lower position by default. Congrats on the bike! I have a 2023 (which is identical), and it's fantastic. The only thing I don't love is how top heavy it is. I have other bikes that are the same weight, but lower center of gravity, and I am far more confident on them when it comes to things like picking an appropriate parking spot, doing the 7 or 9 point turn in the garage to get pointed outbound, and other maneuvers that require feet on the ground. I'm about 5'7, inseam 30 or 32 depending on the day.

Also re: the "low" RPM red line, if you haven't found out already, there really isn't a need to go much higher 😅 I find cruising at 3000-4000 is perfect, I'll hit 5000-7000 when I'm trying to boogie, and anything above that is just wild.

@@willst101 I see. Thanks a lot. I never tried the FJR, but I am thinking to do it. I am 6ft 1. Will see. Who knows if there is gonna be a new FJR in the near future. Drop by to check my content, you may like it. Cheers bro.
I honestly thought they had stopped production of this bike !!

Nope!...the Concours hasn't been produced for a few years now. I originally wanted the Conny, but after some research the FJR was the better choice.
Nice smart colour, I like these, but I have never had one, I recently got kawasaki h2 sx but I think I would be better of on one of these, h2 is to fast for a touring bike😮
@bigair0176

Well this has no shortage of fast or power. It is basically the same as the zx14 or concourse 1400. Lots of juice. I doubt I will ever know what it really can do just on how fast it is to get to the speed limit haha. Cheers!

@bigair0176 yes I know their good I have had a few xjr13's & just sold my 5th zzr1400 but the h2sx haven't got that initial tourque of the line then it just wants to clime to silly speed's it's not relaxing for touring, I was trying to get away from bikes that encourage high-speed riding for something more relaxed & comfortable but still with plenty off low down grunt and plenty of power. I like the changes they made to yours and it looks real good in that gloss colour ✨️
It's a fairly reliable bike and runs on low octane gas. I would not pay $23K for one.
