Mitsubishi Motors has unveiled the first-ever full hybrid small MPV in the form of the Xpander HEV and Xpander Cross HEV. These models have made their global debut in Thailand
The body dimensions are 4,595 mm long, 1,750 mm wide, 1,750 mm high, 2,775 mm wheelbase and 205 mm underbody height.
The exterior still maintains the Advanced Dynamic Shield design concept, decorated with blue lines that convey the feeling of a hybrid car . Equipped with LED headlights with LED daytime running lights, automatic headlight on-off system. and LED front fog lights
The rear is equipped with LED Rear Combination taillights with a third LED brake light and 17-inch two-tone alloy wheels with a blue stripe decoration set. Enhanced with a disc brake system on all 4 wheels.
Inside, the HEV models get an 8-inch LCD instrument cluster and a revised gearlever with a shift-by-wire system. Other features include heat-reflecting leather heats (Heat Guard), a 9-inch touchscreen infotainment system with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, electronic parking brake with auto hold, and a PM 2.5 air filtration system.
This is the first time the Mitsubishi Xpander receives a hybrid option and a new engine has also found its way into the budget 7-seater crossover. The new engine is a 1.6-litre petrol engine that makes 95 hp and 134 Nm on its own. Combined with the electric motor, the Xpander HEV outputs 116 hp and 255 Nm.
The hybrid powertrain sends power to the front wheels only and is referred to as “e:MOTION” by the company. It offers 7 driving modes which include Normal Mode, Wet Mode, Gravel Mode, Tarmac Mode, Mud Mode, EV Mode, and Charge Mode. The Xpander HEV is also equipped with Active Yaw Control
the Xpander HEV Mitsubishi Motors made the decision to price it the same as its internal combustion engine counterparts, at least as an introductory offer, with the Xpander HEV priced at 912,000 Thai Baht.
