HI GUYS AND GIRLS! I've JUST received this email from Suzuki (talk about timing!): Tour editions of the all-new V-Strom 800DE, new-for-2023 V-Strom 1050DE and updated V-Strom 1050 are now available and incorporate full, three-piece aluminium luggage as standard. Available in a choice of either silver or black, the rugged aluminium luggage adds 112 litres of storage capacity to machinery already designed to take you further, thanks to large fuel tanks and economical twin-cylinder engines, weather-beating hand guards, and ergonomics designed for all-day riding comfort. In the case of the V-Strom 1050 and 1050DE there’s also cruise control, while the 1050DE and 800DE will enable riders to continue when the road ends thanks to longer travel suspension, increased ground clearance, 21” front wheels, and an off-road-focussed electronics package. Costing just £1,500 more than the standard equivalent, the V-Strom 1050 Tour comes with an RRP of £14,499, the V-Strom 1050DE Tour will cost £15,199, while the V-Strom 800DE Tour’s RRP is set at £11,999. In the case of the V-Strom 800DE, the Tour edition represents a saving of £672.98, when compared to buying the luggage separately. On the V-Strom 1050DE Tour and V-Strom 1050 Tour the saving is over nearly £450. On all three Tour models Suzuki’s renowned three-year warranty will also apply to the luggage items, with the ability for that warranty to be extended further under the Service Activated Warranty. The more ya know!! UNK 🏁

If I were to get the 800 I would just use my mosko moto reckless system, think that would work very well on that bike with its lines, definitely something to think about for the future, once I have sold my GSXR K1 1000

Aww big compliment!
1 Rear suspension is fully adjustable, compression, rebound and pre-load. 2 That is not the only display picture. There is black background which looks much better and just as readable. 3 The windscreen has 3 positions, although fairly useless. 4 The front brakes are two piston calipers, not four. I think you need to do a little more research before the review is done. This review may be the only one that doesn't mention how smooth the engine is and the excellent torque delivery. A fantastic powertrain and, suspension is great for factory equipment, and very easy to adjust. Suzuki did a fantastic job on this one and deserves a non-bias review. I have no reason for bias between the Japanese bikes, I own all makes. The Beemer fans have been outdone on this one, except for the cruise and connectivity. The Suzuki is the better bike of the middleweights this time.

Hi Kate. Steve from New Hampshire here. I am not worthy. But.... This particular review. This became a pivot for me. Resolve and motivation. This bike. I could see this bike. Bought a Himalayan ~off to the bank for a loan ~ not big enough. Returned the bike, got my deposit back. Got closer and closer to being a motorcycle guy. Thanks for your patience. Kate. Well now it's a Bandit that I've got (along with the Honda Nighthawk) Both bikes with tags, registered and with keys. I think it was that hip check there. Not about you being female. More about the bike and the potential for fun and freedom. You have changed my life Kate. My bikes are registered as what we call "antiques" here in the USA. Now gotta stay fit. Thank you for this. I know that these motorbike companies have you selling new bikes and I have failed you there. (The Bandit is an 98 - so clean) The V-Strom 800 DE is the ideal bike. No doubt about it. Thank you again.

I always enjoy your videos, you have a great sense of humour and your laugh is infective. Have been riding my CBR1100XXX since 7175 miles June 2001. Put 80,000 miles up on her and love her to bits. Having just watched all the facilities you went through I was impressed at how much info you can gather. Manufacturers have been making the extras for some years now, ABS, ride variantions etc. It sems to me there is so much to go wrong, even though some of the info could save your life in some cases. I was sympathetic to how awkward it was for you to sit on such a high bike, but you are used to it by now. I very much doubt if you would buy one for that reason. Great bike though. I like it a lot. Am 75 now so won't get one :) Once I've sold my Bird thats it for me.

I'd definitely own one, I'd just get a low seat for it if I did 😊 but yes, very strange that its the same seat height as my GS and Vstrom 1050, both of which I can tip toe 😬
Wow tall for a vStrom, but finally Suzuki well done!🙂 On another note: Six weeks ago now I had a RTC on my push bike taking a 'quiet' back road to avoid all the summer holiday traffic down here in Penwith Cornwall area, as a result my Triumph Tiger 900 GT Pro (RED with silver luggage I might add:-)) will not be ridden now for a good few months (missing out on all this nice weather too!). I unwittingly gained speed on my pushbike to 28mph down hill and went round a back lane corner only to find a land rover and campervan stationary trying to pass each other, I had to ram (est. 25mph) between them. Multiple injuries including cut and black right eye (face planted the road helmet on), grazed knee, hip, sprained left elbow and wrist and finally broken right non-displaced proximal humerus and displaced distal clavicle fracture. Pain pain pain! Now still recovering after six weeks with months of physio to follow. I can't drive or ride for a few months more or lift anything. Aim of cycling was to build up my fitness having gone through a right lung pulmonary embolism last September, again didn't ride much as on blood thinners back then. 14 years ago broke five ribs on my right side smashing my right shoulder for the first time. So, my point being, thank you for providing some excellent vids to help my mental state and get me through my issues and pain! Whilst I may not ever ride a push bike ever again on the roads at 55 years young I've stopped short of selling my Triumph and look forward to September when I 'hope' to have built my strength back up again, I'm taking a look at the "Alpinestars Tech-Air 5 Airbag vest" to stop further bad trauma to my right should\arm ibs. Fingers crossed my recovery will go smoothly, but only able to lift my shoulder an inch or so for now:-(

Thanks dear! I rode the bike just in city. Gotta admit I like it a lot. Having a Vstrom 650xt ,this one is like an upgraded version, with a new engine which I find very responsive. Wider and taller handlebar /fat/. Qs is very good to have, but the front 21 seemed a little wobbly at speed around 60km/h?!? Did you feel that or the test ride I got was abused? Also the engine needs a little more revs at certain conditions because it is a parallel 2. As first impressions my heart and soul say I want this bike! P. S. As for colors I do not like the black.

Seems like a bargain of a bike. Sat on it today at the local bike store in Canada, they had a price of 12,999 CDN$. Which is a bargain compared to some of the other models like the Tiger 900. Great vlog as usual. I am in he market for a mid-weight to heavy ADV bike. Was looking at this bike or a second hand F1200GSA. Gutted the bike doesn't come with cruise control. Susuki have dropped the ball here. Where I live in central Queensland, its a 9 hour ride/drive so you can imagine how disappointed I am right now. The lack of cruise control, even as an option, on a ride-by-wire adventure/DS/tourer is unforgivable. They may have had my money, but not with that glaring miss.
When u sat on the bike only the rear suspension compressed.. Front didn't move at all.!!!
Thanks for the review 😇 - I admit I’m surprised at the lack of cruise control on a bike of this kind, especially since it has the RBW throttle… maybe on the next iteration ☹️
Hi Kate, seems a good bike, but by the time you put on crash protection, fog lights, and luggage on it you are up to big GS money, and I know what I would rather have. Not to bothered about Bluetooth connectivity, but cruise control omission, for touring also is a must for me. So more miss than hit for me. Thank you.

I had a 2020 650XT. I hope the standard of finish is better on this bike. on the 650 the spokes would corrode if you even glanced at them. Those spokes need to be rustproof as do many of the other fixings and people would rather pay slightly more for that than have to pay to fix Suzuki's tight fistedness and lack of thought. It is easy to give great reviews for a new bike... However a few years down the line is really where its at... where the disappointment sinks in from the reality of what you really have spent money on.
@blackskunk54
7 ай бұрын
I had a DL650XT 2020. Rode 365. Hardly ever cleaned it, but covered most parts in grease. No corrosion on spokes at all, it was kept in garage when not in use though. The finish is better on the RE/DE. When I traded it in people were amazed that it looked like new after 2 years of use in all weathers. Its always the same when I trade my bikes in. I did however get rust under the steering column, which is quite common. One of the clips on the hoses went rusty and when I pointed it out to the dealer his comment was that that one often corrodes for some bizarre reason, the others were fine. I traded mine as got fed up with the vibration at some revs.
So they give it a 21” front wheel to make it more off-road focused and then charge extra for the skid plate? And that luggage price - jeez. I thought BMW were expensive. Thanks, but no thanks Suzuki. I’ll still with my GS
@blackskunk54

No, the skid plate is standard. An OEM upgrade is available though (if you have lots of wedge)
