Alright, I’ve watched a bunch of these, and I finally just need to comment - these are the BEST bass demos that exist. The “one plays while the other turns the knobs” routine really takes us through so many of the possible tones. Plus, they don’t shy away from the pick, and keep the slap demo to a tasteful minimum. Keep it up - you guys do a great job!

I know Andertons like to "poke fun" at the model names Ibanez give their instruments, but the model names aren't some secret code; once you understand their naming scheme, any instrument makes relative sense. The prefix is always the model code which includes the body shape and standard specifications (AZ, RG, SR, BTB, EHB); traditionally, the series the instrument falls under comes after (unless it's a limited edition, like the SR5FMDX). The higher the number, the more "premium" the instrument. The ending number denotes the string count. "0" is used for 6 string guitars and 4 string basses, any other number is the special string count (e.g.: "5" string bass, "8" string guitar). The ending suffix is any special details, "MS" meaning "Multi-Scale." Some woods are used under this scheme as well like "FM" meaning "Flamed Maple," "PB" meaning "Poplar Burl," etc.

Glad to finally see a proper demo of these basses, especially that BTB 805. Most videos use distortion/fuzz and don’t show the actual tones you can get. The T1 pickups sound better than the bartolinis to me. I’ve had my eye on the BTB for a while, but that 6-string EHB with the T1’s sounds awesome too. Well done, gents 👏

I think the headless models continue the 34-35.5” scale while the btb goes all the way to 37” right inline with the ding wall territory. The pickups seem very interesting to me. Probably gonna have to wait until next year for a parallel, series, single switch. Which could really push it into that hyper modern class.

@@mrwagner01 once that switch comes out I do t think I’ll want another bass haha, currently have a V3 5st and a M7 5st but I tried an Ibanez SR1405E and I’m really interested in picking up an SR now, but the BTB seems really nice.

@@saxophite1333 I used to play the SR500 back in the day “2012-2015” sold it to the bass player that replaced me in the band. And now. That same bass belongs to my little brother who’s playing gigs every weekend with it. The sr models have a very fast and light feel to them and a solid tone. But I think for those looking to go beyond drop C tuning the longer scale is a clear choice. We can always do our own mods if we can read a schematic or know a good luthier.

The bass player in my band has been playing the BTB805ms the past few weeks, and I can vouch it is an excellent bass and it feels nice to play, even for it's long scale. He was playing a Dingwall Combustion 4 string and the BTB stands well against it. Mostly got it because we needed the extra range, and maybe it helps that our band's initials happen to be "BTB" lol.

I wish people doing these reviews would play on the B string above the 5th fret. Or around the 12th-15th fret even better. Also talk about what it’s like to play chords on a multi-scale above the 12th fret. Also the older guy’s non stop attempts at comedy is awkward and tiring. He doesn’t support the younger guy when he speaks, he just lets the younger guy support him, which the younger guy does at every turn. Thank you for the video though. Answered a couple questions.
