I forgot I actually have the pink top MTM from the original line-up...for anyone who would find the comparison helpful, I took the new blonde MTM and compared to all the blonde MTM I have (pink top, floral pants, baseball, soccer, hiker)...the new one is lighter than the others with a slightly pinker tone...I think she's the lightest MTM Barbie-face blonde so far. Of course, in the video, the skin looks the same as the others...maybe mine is an aberration.

@@majacarter9485 my pleasure! If you are looking for the lightest skin tone, at the moment it is the tall pale blonde (Barbie Signature Looks 6) but she has a very pink tone. The next lightest is Barbie Signature Looks 8 (the blonde with pixie cut), she's actually lighter and a tad more neutral than the original Yoga Purple Top. Then slightly darker than Purple Top and more yellow-undertone would be the BMR1959 Kira doll (denim jacket, long purple dress). Then would be the new MTM yoga Barbie with the high ponytail. Hopefully this is also helpful. :)

I just had to comment that this video is a life saver, it's helped me figure out what bodies to put with what head several times. Thanks for making it and for showing so many dolls!

It was meant to be!! I’m trying to figure out the most ideal curvy mtm for my fashionista 147 (who is currently on a pink shirt yoga mtm & is a good enough for me match) I wanted to see if the curvy orange pants yoga one would be too light or a “good enough for me” match (since it’s a lot cheaper then my other 2 body options) & the two dolls are literally side by side in the pic!!!! I think this is my sign to splurge for Barbie style 3 for the clothes & body while it’s on sale in Amazon 👀 we shall see hehe!!! I’m so happy I found your channel it’s what I’ve been looking for forever!!!

Great video! BTW I think the purple pants mtm doll could be of the same skin tone as the Gabby Douglas doll (FGC34). I have the latter and the body also has a slightly redder undertone than the 3:20 yellowtop mtm.

Hey just wanted to say I absolutely Love your Videos just subscribed to your awsome Channel.Used to collect also the Made to Move Dolls and here and there the Fashionistas it's been awhile. I mainly stopped cause of the Sticky Greasy stuff witch they used to put into the Dolls, Head to secure the Hair plugs of the Doll even more. The consitency of it is very Waxy and sticky hard to get Rid off...id say even impossible to be honest cause it's placed inside the Dolls Head. Even when Boil washing the Hair, after a awhile or so all comes back seeping through the plugs making the scalp and Hair Waxy sticky. Can you please tell me if the Current/ New Generation of the (Made to Move) and Fashionista Dolls are still effected of that problem Issue? Cause that's the reason I mainly stopped collecting cause it's just a Pain in the Butt to get that greasy stuff out of the Hair , cause it spreads out over time. It be cool if you could Answer my Question or maybe even make a Video about that Problem if still exists that be great. Lastly in the very first Line of the Made to Move Dolls all of them had that problem.The funny thing is though that sometimes there are Dolls witch don't have that Issue. I read a rather long time ago about that problem Online, when I noticed it on my Dolls but haven't read anything on how it is Currently. Thank you in advance if you can help me out, keep up the great work on your Videos.

Super helpful thank you! How do you think the purple tie-dye would compare with the AA soccer player doll? I saw her in the store yesterday (obviously couldn't come through with my soccer player to compare, but going only by memory they may be close). Also agree that I wish they'd given us more tall or petite dolls...I think the BMR1959 plaid jacket is the only petite MTM doll we have now? If anyone knows one I'm missing let me know. PS if you check Amazon's new doll releases there are 4 new MTM that I've noticed - a very dark skinned male with rooted hair (yes!), a blond guy with rooted hair (not available yet), a very pale female with almost white hair (can't tell if she's tall or regular height), and a dark haired petite female. with skin tone probably around the blonde MTM yoga dolls. ETA - I'm not sure how I missed the comparison to the green floral and the AA soccer player the first go-round, just watched again and saw it.

I think there are three total petites right now - The Claudette facemold in the bMR1959 line, the Yara Shahidi doll, and one of the Barbie the Look dolls

No, the Kira BMR1989 has more yellow undertones while purple top is paler than the Kira and has more bluish undertones

As someone who is desperately searching for a bodymatch for the vitiligo doll (I plan to paint the vitiligo patches from her original body onto the new one), let me tell you that the purple-pants yoga is not, I repeat *NOT* a match. Not even close. Way too light, and it has more of a yellow undertone. The vitiligo doll is darker and redder. Which is why I thought she'd be a perfect match for the red wheelchair fashionista's body. Unfortunately, that's a mismatch too, but only by a narrow margin. The wheelchair body is the exact right color, but just a shade too dark. So, nope on that one too, I guess. If anybody has any suggestions for another MTM body I can try (or a head to put on the now-wasted wheelchair fashionista body) I'm open to suggestions.

Hi! I know this answer is way late and that you've likely already found a match, but I used the Barbie Extra #1 doll and it's almost exact. Apple Barrel makes a pretty spot on craft paint colour called, "peach", that you can use to repaint her spots. I haven't found any MTM matches that are better for the vitiligo doll. You do lose the petiteness and, of course, her spots, but you can get those beautiful patches back with just a little work. I love my version! The vitiligo doll is so incredibly beautiful and special - to not make her at least a pivotal body, if not a MTM, was kind of an insult. Laziness, at best. Do better, Mattel!

Odd question, how does GFX06 (purple dye pants) compare to the BMR green flocked ken? They really need to just do what Integrity Toys does, and just write down a code with the skin tone. I'm so happy to see another curvy with a new (to curvies) skin tone.

I own both. They're actually very similar in color, though the barbie is a touch darker and with a slightly more red undertone. Side by side, they're almost a match, but she's definitely darker.

Hi, I found this video very insightful. I was hoping you might be able to help me. I recently purchased the 1997 Hispanic Dentist Barbie. I was thinking of rebodying her so she can use a wheelchair. She has a very orange cast to her skin. She doesn’t match the 1959 BMR doll, with the twisty braids. Do you have any other suggestions?

Thank you for your prompt reply. Meanwhile though I did my own little experiment. I found out that the Dentist doll looks pretty good on the Laurie Hernandez doll. Then I did switch them back. It is always nice to have options though for the future.

I did this one with the orange top mtm body and its pretty good. Face has more red/pink tones but its not obvious.

I lately bought pink top, and she doesn't match a y of my dolls well. She has to much pink undertone. Before I had floral pink one and she was perfect. I must find more of them.

I’m not sure. I don’t have an orange top, but I think the orange top is close to the brunette soccer player. If that’s the case, then green pants is a bit lighter

It is absolutely that yellowish. I bought two and swapped the fashionista 159 and the paramedic (GYT28) heads onto them. That orange-pant yoga doll is definitely a skintone match for the BMR Kira doll.

I looked everywhere for hiker Barbie and couldn’t find her. I guess that’s because it’s the hikers body but NOT her original head (I wanna say you are using pineapple something’s head?). I’m trying to find an light to medium mostly yellow-orange skin tone to match a head

Yes, the hiker has the head of fashionista 70. The made to move with a yellow undertone is either the Kira BMR1959 or the new curvy red pants

I think fashionista 137 doesn’t have an exact match for any of the current made to moves. She’s a bit too light for any of the Millie face mold made to moves , and has a completely different undertone than the purple top. I don’t think she’d work on the red pants either due to different undertones as well

I must disagree with Faith Elene here. I own a rebodied 137. I put her on the blonde floral-pant yoga doll (model FTG81). In my opinion, it's a perfect match.

Actually Yoga Millies are not the same. GXF04 (pink pants) share the same skin tone as Fashionistas 165 and Volleyball Player. They have lighter skin tone than DHL82 (pink top, black pants). FTG81 (blonde floral pants) is pretty close match to DHL82, but she is more orange. FTG81 is a match to FRL33 Volleyball Coach (set with Chelsea).
