I have to agree with everyone else that this is by far one of the best how to change your fuel filters on a ford Heavy Duty truck that I have come across. Excellent camera lighting and editing, gets right to the point. Keep up the good work and I will now be a subscriber and will be looking forward to more videos.
Your excitement about draining the fuel filter is infectious! I am now totally stoked about watching someone else do it! Sweet! Your videos are becoming much more interesting to watch. I enjoy how you explain all the small details of the job. Great video!

Just changed mine out on my 17 350. Took me 15 minutes. The far left connection on my under the hood filter was different than yours and the one they send the adapter for. Weird. Good stuff bro, I’m really appreciating your channel and everything you show us.
Great video! Direct and to the point. No taking forever opening packaging or talking excessively about unrelated stuff. I'm new to the 6.7 on my 2020 F-250 I just bought. I saw the mods on that truck. Same mods I want to do!

This is the third video i've watched for changing fuel filters. I don't know how youtube arranges videos, but I'm sure glad I watched as many as I did. The first was not very good, the guy just pulled the top filter straight up and pushed the new one down and was kind of rushed on the fuel line connections, the second video was better, this is the third one and by far the best! Enough detail so that I feel confident in doing this myself. Will check back after it warms up a bit and I get it done.

Very good video. Been doing these filters myself for a while now
Awesome video. Straight and to the point, thank you!
I am a fleet mechanic for a public utility in California. The majority of our larger trucks are the Navistar 7500 series, our smaller trucks are exclusively Super Duties. I have suffered through the 7.3/6.0/6.4 and now the 6.7. We still have a lot of Gen 1 6.7s but they are slowly being replaced by the newest 6.7. I don't know why it took Ford this long to come up with a more efficient lower fuel filter. I wish they had done this years ago, but I gladly welcome the change. The problem with the older filters is the trucks spend a lot of time off road and by the time I have to change the lower filter it is caked under an inch of dried mud. I have to blast it with a pressure washer before I can find it. Something I want to add it our trucks spend a better part of their time idling. The users drive them to the job site, then the truck spends all day idling to run the PTO. This is why we schedule our services by hours instead of miles. If your viewers use their trucks in the same fashion, I recommend changing the fuel filters about every 500 hours. Thank you for sharing this video and especially for driving home the point of draining the water separator. I try to encourage the users to drain them regularly. But, as long as the truck gets them from point A to point B, they don't do anything else. I can spend hours telling horror stories of what water can do to a fuel system.

Nice video! My 2019 F250 has the same filters. I've drained the lower filter a couple times and had no water in the filter. Only have 20k miles on truck. Plan to change upper and lower filter at 30k. Will do it myself.

Hey, thanks
Not gonna lie brother I’ve been doing this wrong. Normally I drain the fuel and while it’s draining I then replace the canister fuel filter on the engine then replace the cartridge filter on the tank. Once done that’s when I cycle the on/off button but not for 10sec. I do it for 30sec and only 4 times. After that I fire it up check for leaks and ride off into the sunset. John Wayne style. And just so you know I’m not a diesel technician just a diesel owner from way back. But after seeing this I realize the potential of debris being trapped in the lines from the cartridge filter to the canister filter. So I’m thankful for the information in your videos. And on a side note raise hell shit the bed.

Best fuel filter video out there for sure! Well all your videos are very informative for backyard mechanics (word is used very loosely lol). I understand the prices I just have a question. Why prime the fuel system after changing the lower filter and before changing the upper filter? Why are you not suppose to change both and then prime the system? Drain every month, change every 10k
Very nice explanation, blessings
The 17 and 18 have a strait line that breaks very easy, that's a support to keep it from snapping off. The 17 needs to have the top filter removed first else it won't break the siphon on the bottom filter and you can drain a lot of fuel from you tank. Ford change something in the later models that stop this
@mattsbrute

A Rod,…might want to include a change of the by-pass filter too. I wonder if guys with by-pass systems are changing that filter at the same interval along with the other two fuel filters? I change all three of mine on my 11 f250 6,7 with 219,000m every other oil change. Thoughts?
You are really damn informative. I love it!
I may just do my filters once a year because I just looked and I changed my oil on 9/13/21 and my 2017 F350 dually truck had 36,324 miles.. Its a week from being 6 months since my last oil change and ive only put 2100 miles on it in 6 months. It will take me 5 years to hit 10,000 miles between filter changes.
