New 2019 Audi A6 Review & First Thoughts - Amazing Tech MMI

So my S3 had to go into the shop for some warranty work, which included fixing the sunroof creaking and rattling, 30k mile service, and replacement of the rear backup camera. Audi Hunt Valley here in Maryland provided this lovely 2019 Audi A6 loaner vehicle so I decided to put a video together. The 2019 Audi A6 has been completely re-designed for the new model year and it really steps up the game. The A6 interior is incredibly comfortable and roomy and the technology in the new MMI system is awesome. The new A6 ditches the old MMI jog wheel and opts for a full on touch screen experience. I will admit that it takes some getting used to, but once you have been working with it for a few days you start to realize that Audi might be onto something. The touchscreen interface is incredibly fast and provides haptic feedback when pressing buttons. I was very pleased with the A6 entertainment system. For the 2019 Audi A6, they also decided to switch over to a turbo charged engine and it provides plenty of power. Merging into traffic on the highway is incredibly easy and the car rides incredibly smooth and comfortably. So anyway this is my review and first impressions of the all new 2019 Audi A6. Finally got it up. Wanted to spend some extra time on the editing. Hopefully it paid off and you guys enjoy it.
I agree about the customization of the light.... Audi in general should let u do it on all models.
I just bought a 2019 (C8) Premium+ A6 w/ 19K miles for $45K - I always go the previously-owned option on luxury vehicles. It is, as you say an older person's type of car, but I am in my early 50s and so is my spouse. I do have a 2011 911, and a 2017 Abarth that keep my spirit young on the weekends (and on the highways). But this A6 is awesome! The ambient lighting option (or lack thereof) bothers me too, especially when you first start it up and it all turns that cool red color; which I could do more than just brighten it up.
I am there with u for ambient lighting. I have an s5 P.plus and that thing costs 60k and only one color ambient light u get is white and u only see it in pitch black. What the hell Audi

I have the A6 premium plus and I can change my ambient lighting in the interior cabin. I set it in blue.

How do you change or turn on the lighting? I just bought the same car you have and I'm having an issue figuring it out
Well, it's a couple years down the road. I just checked on 2019 Audi A6s' and most are still going for a little over 40k.

Supply chain problems definitely threw a wrench into everything. If it weren't for that, I believe that prices on these things would be much lower.

@@TheCenterLineAuto It's good for owners though. No one wants their cars to depreciate at the pace they used to. Hopefully this trend stays the same.
I got one as a loaner when I took my S3 for service, it's really nice. For the sunroof I was having some rattles too and they removed it and greased everything and it solved the problem.

So something interesting. They actually didn’t replace the sunroof. They ordered a new sunroof, dropped the headliner, took the old sunroof off, and then the master tech came in and said no they aren’t swapping it out. Put the old sunroof back on and made some kind of adjustment to it and said it doesn’t creak anymore. I’ve had it back for a few days now annnnnd it’s creaking again. Not sure why they didn’t just put the new sunroof on....

@@TheCenterLineAuto Did your rattle in all positions? Mine only rattled when it was tilted up or open, very weird. Creaking only when IO took tall speed bumps from an angle, but I guess it's normal when the chassis flexes but rattling was very annoying.

It’s not necessarily rattling that much but the creaking gets pretty bad sometimes when it’s full closed. I think I’ve heard a rattle when it’s in the open position a few times but not too bad. I might have to take it back in again.

I didn't even know about the sunroof rattle problem until after I traded in my S3, and it had 32K on it. Now that I've heard of all the issues I'm terrified to even open it on my RS. Having removed headliners myself, I really don't want that done to the car if it's avoidable. Such a sucky problem.

Audi_ophile yeah I was happy when I found out they dropped the headliner to change the sunroof out, decided not to change the sunroof and adjust a few screws on the old one, and then put the headliner back up.
When I had my 07 A4.. the f*n sunroof rattled too! Audi wasn't able to fix it. When I got rid of the damn car, shit was still rattle. & it sucks that the lights can not be customized smh
You were right they are as low as 40k now

It doesn’t take long for Audi’s to depreciate. Sweet spot seems to be around 3 years.
More shots of the car please good review though
customize ambient lighting option is just around $300 in europe. plz get what people want audi usa.

ThatBlueS3 a fair point. Maybe awful is overdoing it. I agree with you, the previous generation is aesthetically, more pleasing.

Did you use the Adaptive Cruise Control and the full map during navigation through the new Virtual Cockpit? It’s really nice. Even the media cover art and the pic from your phone’s caller is in High Def. I think it’s much better than the old Virtual Cockpit. You also didn’t show the 3D Virtual car from the cameras. It’s the current best camera system of all the German brands at the moment.

I did not try the full map during navigation because I tend to always use google maps with carplay. In my opinion, I don't know why car manufacturers even worry about onboard navigation these days. The 3D virtual car feature was pretty awesome.
