    Hey everyone! In this video I made a mistake and stated that this car didn’t have a servo saver(which I found odd) as I just didn’t see the spring hiding in the servo horn. My eyesight is terrible and I totally missed it! Thanks to a very kind viewer who pointed out that he saw it , the( servo saver in the video) and notified me of it. So, correction, this does in fact have a servo saver! Folks, that’s what this comment section is for. I appreciate that! 👊🏼👀🤗

    Man this looks like a great rc. Appreciate you bringing this to our attention. It’s got 3 things that make this a must buy for me. #1 the 2995 chassis. #2 the center dif. #3 the independent receiver. Thanks again for the video. Have a great weekend

    Thanks dude, it really is an awesome Rc. You’re right on every point you make about why this is great. I was wondering when haiboxing was going to give us a serious larger scale rc, and finally they have. I contacted haiboxing to make some suggestions on other leaving room to allow a bigger , longer pack in this chassis and they responded asking why ? That surprised me that they didn’t understand why. They didn’t know where to put it all. I sent a picture of the internals of a Rlaarlo AM-D12 and replied “this is how.” I think they get it now hopefully 🙏. That’s really the only thing holding this Rc back. I love the smoothness of this esc/motor. It’s hard to explain, but it’s awesome! Thanks so much for watching and leaving your feed back brother!!👊🏼😎👍🏻✌🏼 Merry Christmas 🎄 dude!😃

I am starting to like these 1/12th and "1/10th" scale little brushless kits more and more. I may have to check this one out! I hope you can get the part in for it soon and also find a new body for it too! The cold is not kind to plastics at all!

    Thanks Addam! Every thing is back to normal except for the body. Right now I have a temp body shell for it which actually doesn’t loo too bad. I will be showing that on the channel maybe tonight. The stock body shell will be coming to Amazon in a few weeks from haiboxing And they said they will send me a replacement , which is very cool. Parts are abundant for this otherwise! Thanks for checking in and leaving your very kind comment!✌🏼😃🍻

I’m sad the body got smashed. Was on the tail end of the 3s battery pack and thought it might have enough to back flip. Wish I hadn’t of done that!😆😫😂 that’s ok New body coming soon! Hi Robby, always look forward to your unboxing and product review, they are so, so good. Lots of great design features on this short course RC, from the oversize CVD’s, alloy shocks to the electronics and that highly detailed body. Nice tips from you too, getting the protective film off the body and getting the truck ready for action 😊😊 it’s certainly a serious contender to the other manufacturers in the scale, a very fiercely fought arena 😊😊 very cold day, bright, but cold. UK is again wet and around 5C (41F)🤔🙇🏻‍♂️🤦🏻‍♂️. I too use the local senior school car park for speed runs, nice and open and the surface is smooth enough 😊😊27mph is very respectable too, especially for the temperature 😊 oh wow! On 3s, so much more punch and speed 39mph, oh just saw the kerb strike, tough little tike 😊😊(and the RC😂😂). Off road, it’s great fun, if you can keep it off the rocks 😂😂😂Best wishes to you and the family 😊😊

    Thanks Dan! It’s a great car. Really fun to drive. It definitely has some softening done the programming, which really just makes the power delivery very linear, which is good for keeping you from flipping it over all the time. On 3s, I can still still feel it, but but not as much. I’m going to try my Hobbywing program card on it. And see if I can unlock the beast. Over all though I really do like it. I should of reinforced the body shell before testing it. Sy Lin said she’d send me another one as soon as they are available. Found something else to work for the moment! Thanks for watching dude!👊🏼😎✌🏼

Here in the UK, an imported (from the USA) 2997a is only a little lower than price of the aluminium Omni terminator. I love Hbxs but the Omni seems a lot of car for the money and shouts "quality."

    Hi 👋🏻! I agree with you my friend. The 2997a is a great and tough Rc Truck, but Rlaarlo’s Omni is a lot more Truck for the money in my opinion. My 901A is still holding up nicely (knock on wood) I’m on the second body though and pretty much run it on 2s like it’s supposed to be run. I’m hoping to purchase the Omni Terminator soon and will probably go with the metal chassis version. What about you? Thanks I really appreciate the comment and your viewership!👊🏼😎👍🏻

    I have never tried one of Ovonic's higher end LIPO's. Their 50C line is really low performance but I was always curious about the 120C LIPOs. One thing I have learned from the serious speed run guys if you warm your LIPOs up before you run them, you can get optimum performance. That way your can run it at its highest voltage and just give it the beans right from the start and not wear it down before you do your actual speed run. I pre warmed mine (put it in a cooler bag with a hot water bottle and flipped the battery ever 15 min or so to heat it up as evenly as possible) as like you, when I ran mine it was chilly outside (but not as chilly!). It looked really cold when you ran yours! Way to brave the cold to get that video done! Sorry you got some damage. I cracked my body in the back too.... was annoyed for sure.

  • @BangForYourBuckRc

    @BangForYourBuckRc

    7 ай бұрын

    Hi Brian, thanks for your Red awesome comment brother! Yes I too have heard of those warm up methods. Which is good practice. I just kept mine near the heater vent of my truck. It kept them toasty. I have noticed thought that lipos surge after running a few laps and give optimal out put a few laps in before they drop off. If you speed run right away like many do with a fresh pack the stored energy deep in. The cell has not yet energized it’s full output. When it’s cold outside, with lipo’s anyway that energy in that gel has not much insulating it so it loses out put much quicker and gives a shorter runtime as well as compromised output. Hard packs do a bit better in the cold (if kept) warm than gel packs because of that extra bit of insulation , which takes up space. Makes sense why all these yrs have been so expensive! 😝 All I know is I really like this thing. I too wish there was more space for a longer battery pack.this little compartment is certainly limiting. On options out there! I mentioned this to Sy Lin and had her pass the message to the chief engineer. Don’t know if they listen to customer feedback like Rlaarlo does, but it was definitely worth a shot. It $150 it’s a great deal, but I don’t think I’d pay $200 for this. Any way, thank you so much for your very helpful videos as I’ve watched all of them. You have a great channel and go a fantastic follow up on stuff you are testing. Glad I subbed and keep up the amazing work!👊🏼😎💯😃👍🏻 Happy Holidays buddy!🎄🌟🙏

  • @BriansRCStuff

    @BriansRCStuff

    @@BangForYourBuckRc Thanks for the insight on the LIPOs. I never really considered hard packs having better "insulation: but that makes sense! I will say when I am running a car hard (as long as it has a pretty powerful system or on an undersized LIPO lol), the LIPOs usually stay warm at least on a cool day (maybe not as cold as the day your ran yours where I guess it was below freezing?). I will say I think it is tough to make a generalization as there are so many variables, but in a high draw RC (like my Bandit that goes nearly 100 mph on 3s), it will NEVER run faster than it will on the first pass because it will discharge the LIPO about 0.1v after each run. It might come close on the second run but after that it will never be able spin the motor as fast after that first run on consecutive runs. Now on a lower draw RC that might be different, I am not 100% sure. I will say with my HBX, I don't think I would have been able to reach and exceed the factory 45 mph claim on 3s or reach the claim of 30 mph on 2s without pre heating the LIPOs on a cool day (around 45 or 50F). I gave them like 45 min trying to give enough time for the center to warm up too. But, it sounds like yours may have been warmed up a fair amount too.... so IDK.🤣I would love to see you run that Ovonic 3s pack on a warmer day and see how far into the 40s you can take it. I don't choose to work Ovonic anymore as my contact would go off the grid/be unresponsive for weeks at a time and I found it very unprofessional but I would live to test one of their higher end packs as their lower end stuff has been subpar in my experience... I just can't bring myself to deal with them when I have many other LIPO companies that have been great to work with. : ( Also, I have used their packs to demonstrate lower performance so many times now... I am not sure if they appreciate it but it is what it is. : ) I am glad that your are in contact with Sy! I was going to talk to you about that offline but here is fine too. I cracked my body in the same location that your broke yours.... so that for sure is another area that needs improvement. I think (hope) if they hear it from enough they will make some changes in the future. I hope they are not lazy about it and just keep using the same chassis with little change from one version to the next. I think it is time they really redo it and free up space needed for a larger LIPO - something that can hold say a 2,600 or 3,000 mAh 3s. If they want to stay competitive, they are going to have to as as we both know.... a lower capacity LIPO (everything else being equal) is going to be slower and of course have a shorter run time too!. I am with you, for $150 it is a great deal. I personally wouldn't but it for $200 but for someone just getting into the hobby I think they could do worse for $200 for sure! I love that things are really heating up at this price point and this will only help us consumers get better and better products! I hope I can get a newer MJX or Rlaarllo or another competitor car in the future to test against my HBX. I am for sure going to have to check out some of your older reviews as that HBX one was great! You seem to have a lot of good products you test out and have a ton of great knowledge from all the testing. You are killing it!🤩

    And what BangforyourBuck really meant to say: There's an awful lot of good ones out there today. Careful with that. I have the Gool 16th and the Hosin 10th scale and both are excellent trucks and rated for 3s. I would take the Hosin over the Redcat Volcano any day. I have a Redcat TRMT10E that was made for 3s and is probably the best I've got, it's 6 years old and has never broken. It's one of the best bashers all time, by any brand, and can draw pictures in the sky. Really. I have a Redcat Blackout Chevy Suburban on 3s. Same thing. It's like it's made out of rubber or something and it too is six years old. But I have gone through 5 bodies. The point is: There was life before Hyper Go and Haiboxing. And unless you're being paid by them, my answer is the best answer. As far as the Chinese brands go, take your pick; they're all the same. And most are just Redcat Volcano16 rolling kits with different brand stickers on them, with all the options. The peel off membranes on the Lexan body's? That's all Redcat. At least they put warning stickers on them now. Everyone who has Redcats has wasted at least one body sticker sheet by sticking them on the membrane instead of the body. I know I have.

    @@dannysdailys I agree with you Danny. The old Hosims Rocked and still do. Some of the best cheap bashers out. I never claimed haiboxing to be the best. But they did set a standard, and Hosim did as well. I do think that MJX, and Rlaarlo have raised the bar with budget Rc of this time period. That comes at a bit of a cost increase,as everything is going up. I do still Like my Redcats. They have turned otherwise cheap bashers into good quality rigs. Remember, All these Rc’s are from China Even Traxxas. Traxxas is only assembled here. Still from China though. I think we have more in common on the subject than you think. Actually, Redcat is made in Taiwan, as is Hobbywing, except the left over HSB platforms which are China, like the Volcano. And the Volcano is hardly a basher, as it's far too fragile. Even Redcat warns you not to 3s it. All it does is break. Castle and Traxxas are from China. Castle doesn't even give you the full specs on their motors. And I never said you said Haiboxing was the best. Someone else did and I just had to set him straight. I thoroughly enjoyed your review. @@BangForYourBuckRc

    Splash waterproof means it's not waterproof. And why don't I believe it has a switchable center differential like the box says? What does that even mean? And far from high end, that's one of the cheapest, if not THE cheapest controller on the market. Sorry folks, I only call it the way I see it and I've been in this game for 30 years. I'm not saying it's a bad truck, I am saying it's not exactly what you think it is. Being "tested" by a Fan Boy doesn't help. Only being rated for puddles is a big disappointment. I do like the rub rails on the top and the rub rail wing. It looks plenty strong enough to protect the back of the truck. I would've liked to see two bodies like Hyper Go gives you with the chassis mounted wing. And Hyper Go is almost 50 dollars cheaper, and the Hosin 10th scale is the same money, and does come with two bodies. And what is a 12th scale anyway? What happens when your new 10th scale is laughably small and you don't want to call it a 16th? Great Truck or not? Either way, it was destroyed in one day, now wasn't it? It's in pieces and he still calls it an awesome RC. See what I mean about the Fan Boy? It's average at best.

    Hi Daniel. I understand any skepticisms But, yes the box says waterproof as this uses a 45 amp “waterproof” esc from HobbyWing. I used the words splashproof/waterproof As I do for many of the cars I run. Didn’t mean to send a mixed message if you took it that way. The car does actually have a full metal center diff . Which is awesome for keeping this thing planted. It is an actual 1/12 scale car when comparing it to other 1/12 scalers. No where does it say on the box that it’s a 1/10. This thing is very nice for $150 and worth that all day long. You can’t compare the cheaper price of a 1/16 HyperGo to this as far as price goes. The 1/16 HyperGo’s are physically a good bit smaller. Yes they do match it in performance, but this is a much heavier car in comparison. The reviews out there that I have seen had similar experiences as I did with mine, and pride their channels for being True and honest reviews. It’s a really good solid Rc for the $150 price. Would I pay $200? Probably not. I hope you get one and try it out. It would make a great gift for some one in your life or even for yourself to bash around with. Take good care brother and thanks for watching and commenting! ✌🏼👊🏼😃💯

    Raindrops usually means splash waterproof. Showing it underwater usually means waterproof. And thanks, I won't be buying it no matter how much you push it, as I already have 21 RC's, 22 counting my snowmobile. And another 1/2 dozen construction machines. I need another RC like I need a whole in the head. Anything that gets destroyed in one sitting is average at best. And you didn't beat it that hard. I saw one of these (different brand) hit the concrete nose first at 15 feet and it literally exploded into a pile of broken parts. I've never had one of my Redcats do that. I did have a custom Lightning car split in half by hitting a telephone pole at 65 mph. I put gyro's in everything after that. And the Haiboxing is 200 dollars on Amazon, not 150. That puts it in the same pricing as the 10th scale Hosim. The Hyper Go is 150. Thanks for your review. @@BangForYourBuckRc

Yes the regular price is $199.00 when no coupon is applied and I’ve said in my video that I don’t think it’s worth that. I think your watching bits and pieces of different videos. Derby City Rc , the video that you are speaking of crashing into the ground from 15ft in the air, had beaten the snot out of his 2997a before that happened. Look, I’m not pushing anyone to buy it,nor are other channels who have reviewed this rc. I am simply recommending if if they can purchase it at $150, then It’s a good solid deal at that price. I’m not pushing this on anyone. I only review Rc’s that in my opinions are great deal for what I paid. That is why it’s important that I am genuinely interested in the vehicles I purchase.
