Carra and Jamie have such respect for each other and you can see it here. Amazing stuff.

Endo is quietly turning out to be an amazing player. Not necessarily a midfield destroyer but more like a midfield controller. He reminds me of someone like Lucas Leiva. So many times he cleaned things up in midfield and created nice calm possession for liverpool, he made it look easy.

Other teams are also in transition. Arsenal is in transition too. If Liverpool are in transition, they shouldn’t bother abt winning the title then. Just accept both teams did well. You can not win every time.

They’re no where near the same stage of a transition if that’s what you want to say they’re in compared to arsenal and united they’ve had klopp for years he’s brought in players he wants and has spent a lot on them same goes for arsenal and united but arsenal a and united have come out of extremely long periods of time where the managers were heavily involved in the club from head to toe so it’s hard for both of them to make their own identity after the previous managers being such a huge part of the clubs,Liverpool’s ‘transition’ is nothing compared to others like look they’ve been contending for the title for a good few years and won the champions league got to another final of the same competition and also won the league that’s not a transition period pal

He is playing within himself, he is afraid to take players on the outside, keeps coming back inside an it slows the game down

The point about the front 3s is really good cos myself, and many Liverpool fans will agree with me that our front 3 have underperformed this year mainly cos they rarely link up well together. I want us to perfect it and get a 3 thats set in stone (mainly cos it was beautiful what we had before). I personally want Jota through the middle when he's back cos hes our best finisher at the club and his link up play is good enough to be that middle man. I want to see Nunez on the left and Salah on the right just to see how that works. But i really dont mind a Salah Gakpo Nunez front 3 either cos them 3 linked up amazingly few times last season

Jota isn't a middle player mate, hasn't got the craft to do it week in week out, fast but too small! He's a wide player who cuts in and gets space using his pace. He's not a centre forward. But would be good as a CAM that's what I saw when he was at wolves mate.

One issue is I think with how well Salah, Mane and Firmino gelled together, everyone is too expectant on the new front line to do the exact same thing straight away

These two are quality together easily the best pundits by far. Shows the players that weren't the very best learn more about the game

Interesting insight from Gary Neville. It’s hard to get the movement & interchange though from the front 3. The only real great top 3s are the Barcelona teams and Madrid’s & Liverpools Mane, Firmino & Salah in terms of the movement where it’s so hard to keep track of them when they move the ball at rapid speed & precision

You make a good point but the reason why as an Arsenal fan I think it would be important is that it’s the kind of result that will give them belief to win as many games as possible even when the going gets tough. It would give them a different cache. It’s different with Man City because you know that even if they don’t win at Anfield they are more than capable of an 11-17 game winning streak which will propel them to the title in any season. With Arsenal we’re still not at that level to win a huge number of games in a row but I just wonder if a win at Anfield would give us the confidence to go on and do that

We need to adapt Luis Diaz to the right side of attack now and cover for Mo Salah as he ain’t doing it on left side and been found out. Was amazing first six months he signed and then fell off after injury but I reckon he can do amazing on right side of attack and just don’t know why we don’t adapt him to that side and see if he can do it especially as Mo leaving to afcon soon.

Premier league back at its finest, I'M Manchester united fan, honestly after that game I believe now is a three_horse race for the title!! Liverpool, Arsenal and Man city

People get on at Nunez for missing chances, but he contributes assists and the odd match winning goal. By contrast, as much as I loved his energy when he arrived, I don't really understand what Diaz is supposed to be contributing at the moment. He doesn't score or assist particularly - he has bursts of speed and then loses the ball or knocks it back. It's time he was dropped for a few games and we tried something new.

Have to agree with you there, it cuts both ways they have some neck calling out the crowd after a tepid and poor game. You have to entertain and play well to get the crowd going, you cannot demand that you EARN that !

Our front 3 let us down yesterday, Arsenals strong point is Defence and most people would put their midfield over us but fair play to the lads yesterday played unreal if not for our forwards and Szobo having an off game and ofc the crossbar shot we could’ve won, really disappointed still drawing with Man U and Arsenal we need to be getting at least a draw off both now away. This is an exciting Liverpool but they need to stop being so hesitant in the big matches play how we normally do and we’ll be ok.

Just flew back to New Zealand and on the 30 hour flight I couldn't help ponder whether Gary Neville would be back on the Gary Neville Podcast. After arriving in Auckland I woke to Christmas Day and confirmation and in fact Gary Neville has once again, managed to be back on the Gary Neville Podcast. Unbelievable scenes

What a good quality game that was, actually i'm quite pleased with a draw..., it opens up the title race keeping it tight and allowing the momentary top 4 a shot at it, and ManCity still have to find their season second half form. Liverpool's front 3 is Salah, Nunez/Gakpo and Diaz/Jota. It looks bad because Jota is out, Diaz hasn't fully recovered from injury, and Nunez isn't putting the ball into the back of the net.

Yeah the City fans shouldn't really speak too much. Even when KDB comes back from injury there's no guarantee that he'll be the same player to ignite their season.

Glad to see Gary Neville on the podcast, always adds fascinating insight.

You are right about the Arsenal front 3, although last year Martinelli, in particular, was much more involved from a goalscoring sense and him and Jesus had a good relationship on the pitch. I think Martinelli’s lack of goals is the big miss. I will caveat it by saying I think Arteta is asking a slightly different role of him this year.

I thought it was very hard (intentionally made with excess grass and watering) to play attacking football yesterday. Liverpool even over watered their defensive half at HT to disrupt Arsenal’s rhythm. That’s probably why both teams found it real hard to do much in the final third bar one moment of excellence from Salah. The ball was sliding and stopping abruptly making dribbling impossible and passing very difficult.

Injury ravaged Tottenham still under radar. Love it

They’re basically 2 points behind Liverpool and 3 behind Arsenal. They will still win the league easily in my opinion.

The difference this season is teams like Tottenham villa Liverpool arsenal all can take points of them unlike last season where they were in another level

This was the perfect weekend for us. Looked at both teams drop points, neither looked great. Villa dropped points too and we get KDB Haaland and Doku back very soon with a game in hand. I’m very confident

Not only are they still in the race, they're still favourites imo. They'll have KDB back soon which is scary to think about.

Nice to see Joe Carragher and Gary Rogan on the Jamie Neville Podcast.

I don’t know what’s happening with saka and martinelli this season man they’re not clicking at all and it’s worrying.

Arsenal fan here we do not have that cutting edge to win the title clearly missing a couple of additions to the squad that would make us win the league. If you want to win the title you have to win big matches like at Anfield didn’t show hardly anything today apart from the goal, we were holding on by the skin of our teeth in the second half we need new signings in January.

​@@pedropierre9594 I would bring Vlahovic from Juventus. Osimhen from Napoli. Or Ghirassy from Stutgart. Ghirassy would be fire in Arsenal.

In terms of podcasts, to be fair, this is a decent one
