Home to a hobby ceramist with a growing vintage furniture collection, the vibrant Koka Studio was designed by architects Kalina and Robert Juchnevic of blok585m2, for Kalina’s sister, Katarzyna. Key elements of post war apartment renovation included opening up the dark and segmented floor plan and introducing era-appropriate materials such as terrazzo tiling and herringbone parquet flooring. The hero of the new open plan living space is the full size kitchen characterised by a combination of oak veneer and pink cabinets, Katarzyna’s favourite colour. A round dining table sourced at a local flea market features three original Bruno Rey chairs upcycled by Katarzyna herself and painted a bright green that mimics the green flecks of the terrazzo tiles. A striking openwork wire structure inspired by Alexander Calder’s mobiles separates the entrance from the living room whilst still allowing light from the double balcony doors to pass through.

I can't believe it's just 33 sqm, they made a miracle here! I love it

Right? I couldn’t believe it was only 33
How lucky to have a sister who is an architect/designer. Client has what she wants and needs and it turned out so well!
Uncluttered & airy, but cosy & comfortable. Wonderful.

Yes. All the amenities, space to move but it does not look sterile. Lovely.
One of the best designs for 30 - 35 sq. metres I've seen. The feeling of spaciousness is remarkable.
This is such a great design, everything was so carefully chosen, and that room divider! Wow. Looks so much more large than 33sq meters!

Agreed! Does not seem that small at all.
Finally my city! The housing estates in most of Warsaw neighbourhoods really look like the before-renovation condition of the flat and it's very awesome to see the transformation of this flat whilst the vintage element is still there to keep the history of it alive with a dash of fun and colour here and there. The architect did such an amazing job with the redesigning, making the flat so cosy and warm by the usage of the sunlight (since we don't have a lot of sun in Warsaw once summer is gone); needless to say, I'm so SO happy to see my city here on NTS, it makes me wonder how many more flats in Warsaw could be featured here to get the inspiration going!

It is quite similar in Romania to with old buldings. The influence of an architect is amazing, the space featuring in this video is wonderful, I loved everything. I wonder how are the prices for properties in Polland? In Romania it has risen a lot the last years and here people are still attracted to buy the property and not rent.

The Calder inspired room divider, wow it stole my heart. What a great way to incorporate all the client's preferences elements in an open, minimalist space. Pd: Stunning color palette.

It’s amazing! Love it! It reminded me of Calder before she said it!❤
Very wise and optimal distribution to those 33sqm! 👌It looks much bigger with the positioning of the main elements, furniture and rooms divisioning. One of the best designs so far that not only includes an independent resting space for the owner but also a different one for socializing! Congrats to the team for such smart second life apartment design! 👏
Aw man I wanted to see the balcony as well! Great apartment tho! Love that color coordinated crockery!
Excellent floor design that made 33sqm look huge! Everything looks like it belongs and the apartment is cosy yet bright and airy. Bravo 👏
this one's sick. video production is great as usual. small note to the production team--really tiny thing here but i would find it helpful if the blueprint cutaways included some kind of "glow" on the part being discussed, as sometimes the architect narrates about changes and i don't know where to look, and the lines change or disappear so subtly that by the time the blueprint segment ends i'm not sure what happened. just a small thing, as i said. but i love these videos and they look great

That would be very very helpful, specially for those of us who don't understand English very well, and sometimes can not understand exactly what the architect is narrating. Some visual clues about the space being discussed can be very helpful 👍 It is a great idea, I hope it can be implemented.

Obvious visual cues on the blueprints are a wonderful idea. I love seeing all the architectural deletions and additions that transform a space from just “liveable” into “loveable”. The bright, beautifully functional space, which also connects to the outdoors through the windows is spectacular.

This is beautiful! I like so many elements : the Calder inspired wall divider, the togo armchair and the pink cabinets that go together so well with the colors of the lamp and the armchair. Good job, very feminine also❤
Nicely done. Love the sculptural divider and the materials. Good to see something more feminine and soft than the norm.
I can't remember the last time I saw a ca. 30 sq. m apartment that looked so relatively large and comfortable - great design.
Absolutely beautiful! Thumbs up for Kalina and her presenting skills - well done girl :)
33m² looks doubled by this design. Spacious, clean, so much storage. Modern but classic. No planet B, reuse, recycle, well done for these sisters.
This is really beautiful. Absolutely gorgeous apartment with so many thoughtful design features ❤
I love the wooden table with the green chairs so much!
Jak miło zobaczyć wnętrza z Polski. Bardzo ładne, jasne mieszkanie. Gratulacje :)
Looks great with plenty of light. Love the mix of wood and pops of colour. Perhaps the flow would be better if the couch was sitting directly across from the tv instead of the kitchen? The kitchen tends to be the messiest part of home day to day, so it would be nice to differentiate the living and dining spaces a little. Otherwise it feels like you're relaxing in the kitchen. Then the dining table can sit behind the couch near the window?

One of my absolute favourites so far - finally some COLOUR!!
Lovely! Full of light, gives the impression of being bigger than it is. 👋👋👋
And another one from Poland! Yes, our cities are full of small apartments ;-) This particular apartment is amazing! Full of beautiful colors and their combinations with the perfect amount of plants and storage space. Great idea with opening the bedroom. I congratulate the project and admire it!
Lovely, friendly and so livable. I enjoy homes like this with no nonsense, just practical design and such human aesthetics
Beautiful 🙂 I love this smart idea: "We should build and use space as smart and efficiently as possible because there's no Planet B" 💚
Beautifully thought out, this apartment is airy, comfortable and unpretentious. The designer is very skilled!
Lovely design. Easy to imagine living well here
Colourful yet not too loud. The use of materials is cosy and bright enough for this interior. Great job. 👍
Love the Calder inspired 'partition'. Good revamp!
what a comfortable beautiful space. I could easily see myself living here.
I'm in love! All the colours can be changed anytime because the most of them are in the furniture or decoration objects and that metal structure is just for decoration because I don't see any need for it. Completely my kind of flat I'd live. Congratulations.
Wow!! This apartment is simply perfect!! I love absolutely everything about it and would love to live there. I don’t say that often, so this is a little gem. The colours are so relaxing and yet warm, not clinical like the all white places. It’s not cluttered, but also not so minimal that it feels stark or boring. So, they’ve managed to strike the perfect balance of colour, warmth, natural light, space, and functionality. Well done!!
It's hard to believe this apartment is only 33 sq meters. It has lots of space, flow and light. I would love to live in a beautifully designed space such as this. All the styling is on point too.
One word for this apartment - PERFECT
Lovely designed apartment, and surprisingly, I have no negative points here:-), which is something! The cooperation of the sisters' duo architect/investor brought to life an airy, spacious, very logically organized, and still beautiful place for living. Great job, ladies:-)!
I could rewatch this video time and time again! I loved everything about this apartment! Everything is so well thought out, beautiful and full of personality. Brava to the designers and the inhabitant!
Creating your unique and personal space becomes a representation of your identity, making it a more meaningful and fulfilling place to live. Love it. 💯🥰
I love those green chairs! Add a pocket door to the extra opening to the bedroom. A bedroom that closes off completely is a must IMO.
I love how there's always a variety of interior decor styles with each new episode, from totally minimalistic to colorful and maximalist to the in-betweens, it's really brain-stimulating
Beautiful! Straight lines, open space, spacious kitchen and light wood. I'd personally enjoy living in this apartment, great job.
Aaahh ... Bed for one! That's how it works. Well, the overall vibe is warm and artsy (dare I say, shabby chic). Great for people who like it.
LOVE this design and everything in the apartment! It feels so calming. I love the use of space in a minimalist and useful way. Gorgeous place.
So wisely and yet beautifully designed!
Eastern European interior design is such an inspiration for me
Love this small apartment. It's so clean and bright. The area in which the building is situated is lovely.
LOVE the green bedroom closet cabinets! Very beautiful apartment
Love her ceramics! ❤
This apartment is very well designed. There is plenty of storage, the full kitchen the owner had requested, lots of natural light, and a pleasant color scheme that works well in the natural light.
It's a really beautiful place! It looks a lot like an Australian apartment with its bright colours and use of decoration over minimalism. Perhaps the Poles are the Australians of Europe :)
Love, love that room divider, separates entrance from living room so creatively!❤❤😊
J'aime beaucoup cette organisation d'appartement simple mais cosy et contemporain sans être ostentatoire...😊
Brilliant Design! This compact unit is cozy and stylish.
One of my favourites. It has colour and character and a modern but timeless feel and looks bigger than it is. Great work
My favorite color palette and decor style so far!
I love the fun pop of pink and soft texture with the bed! Lovely space. The heat pipe exposure via drill holes is so aesthetically pleasing 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
I love how colorful and friendly this apartment is. Loved how carefully the furniture was chosen.
Beautiful. I would have loved to see something done with that large blank wall next to the L-couch. Maybe some long shelves or a mirror.
Ciesze sie ze to juz druga propozycja z Polski:)
I like this delightful design very much! I can imagine myself living in it, good job ,thanks for sharing❤
Absolutely beautiful space-- gorgeous and functional. It's got so much character, and I love the personal touches. The pops of color are great, and it's so light and spacious-feeling. The designers knocked this one out of the park.
Beautiful design! The bed is amazing!!!!
This is beautiful, calm and personal.
Okay, I’m OBSESSED with this apartment - my favorite one I’ve seen on the channel in awhile! Can I just say, though, that I will never understand choosing to use holes instead of knobs for cabinets…just doesn’t click for me.
I agree....when designed properly.....small spaces work!
The apartment looks huge. It’s beautiful as well.
Love it! Good job. Poland is amazing, so much rich culture and architecture!
That structure as you enter the apartment is so gorgeous!
Love the light, use of material and simplicity of the space!
I love the curved vanity in the bathroom, and the way the bedroom is done. Gorgeous little apartment.
Really like this. The curved bathroom vanity sink is beautiful. I'd want a bigger bed you could access on both sides but I suppose she is restricted on space
This one is fantastic. So cosy. So functional. ❤
This video looks fascinating! I love seeing how a ceramicist creates a functional and stylish living space in a small apartment. It will be inspiring to see how they utilize vintage furniture and their craft in a 355 square foot space.
This apartment is just perfect ! Bravo!
Gorgeous - love the design and the selection of modern and vintage furniture ❤❤
I love this design, could easily live here!
Love this apartment, so many geniuses ideas
love the use of 2nd hand furnitures
Lovethis one. (Im a big reuse/vintage fan). The colours. The furniture. Storage. Tailor made for Kashia. Lovely, peaceful vibe. Hope she's very happy there.
Lovely, well-considered apartment. The bed squeezed up against the window troubled me a bit. Looks very spacious for 33 sqm.
Love love love everything about this apartment.
Absolutely genius, so much attention to little details, and the Calder "mobile" divider is brilliant. The only tiny suggestion I would offer would be to swap out the plaid throw on the sectional for a solid cobalt blue one. It would lead the eye to her porcelain collection on the String shelf (the plaid throw seems a "dead end." ) Everything is so considered -- bravo!
I'd love to live in this one. Finally a video shows you there is space for a vacuum cleaner. ;)
Super design. Przytulnie a jednocześnie tyle przestrzeni i światła. Bardzo mi się podoba.
A bright, bold, and colorful interior. A full-size kitchen, vintage elements, and a collection on display. In the architectural revamp, they brightened up the dark hallway by tearing down a wall that used to separate the dining area from the kitchen. They also moved the laundry area and opened up part of the access to the master bedroom. Now, you can see almost the entire apartment from the entrance, and there's much more light everywhere! They got rid of the dark places, They met all the user's wishes, and even though it's a small apartment, it feels cozy, with its unique style and everything well organized.
I love she added the note about no planet B 👏👏👏👏👏👏
That's nice and very liveable. Great layout.
Beautiful. That structure in front of the entryway is so great. And the concept of 2 doorways to the living room is unique, but I can definitely see it being useful, especially if 2 people lived there. It bothers me a little that the sofa and chair don't face the TV, but to each their own
@jenkenj
11 ай бұрын
I was thinking the same thing. I would leave the pink puffy chair the way it is but then put the sofa facing the tv and then have a long rectangular dining table behind that. You could put a bench seat w/ storage against that back wall if it was a little too narrow to have chairs all the way around. If you don't walk through that wall gap very much you could even put another chair there for symmetry and extra seating, plus it'd be a nice place to sit right by the window
THat was just lovely! well done to all concerned
calming :)
Beautiful apartment. Love the subtle colours and furnishings. Being born mid-century I disliked the style for a long time but in recent years I’ve come to love it in the right situation. Would happily live there👍🏼
Beautiful job. Looks like a happy home.
I liked the space, the design, and materials used. For me, I prefer more defined spaces and the couch location felt out of place. I would have placed it facing the TV with its back to the kitchen and dining table. And for privacy, I would not have taken a piece of the wall out separating the bedroom from the living room and putting up that curtain. But these are personal choices obviously.
Cześć dziewczyny! Dobra robota . Pozdrawiam z Saarlandu
Beautiful solution! However I would add a ceiling mounted curtain to draw across the kitchen for those times when you want it out of sight.
Extraordinarily Ordinary
I love this design! Very cozy and functional. ♥
I totally loooove this apartment.
Beautiful apartment and very well designed, it's always great to see other cities and countries in the EU, greetings from Greece!!
Love this so much! My dream apartment ❤
That’s an ingenious and great project!! Congratulations!! ❤
